Welcome to the General Discussion thread for the League of Legends subforum. Free feel to talk about anything LoL related here that does not already have its own thread. While posting standard tend to be rather lax in this thread, pointless spam will not be tolerated.

The newest champion for this patch is Viktor, the Machine Herald.

Patch 1.0.0.131: Live on December 14th, 2011
+ Show Spoiler [Viktor's Abilities] +
Passive: Evolving Technology Viktor starts with a Hex Core that provides him with stats and can be upgraded in the store to augment one of his abilities. The Hex Core can only be upgraded once, and cannot be sold back to the store.
Power Transfer - Viktor blasts an enemy unit dealing magic damage, returning a portion of the damage dealt as a shield.
Ability Augment: Increases Viktor's Movement Speed by 30% for 3 seconds
Gravity Field - Viktor conjures a heavy gravitational field, slowing all enemies and stacking a debuff every 0.5 seconds. At 3 stacks enemies inside are stunned for 1.5 seconds.
Ability Augment: Gravity Field has an additional 30% cast range.
Death Ray - Viktor uses his robotic arm to fire a chaos beam that cuts across the field in a line, dealing damage to any opponents struck in its path.
Ability Augment: Death Ray sets fire to enemies, dealing 30% additional magic damage over 4 seconds.
Chaos Storm (Ultimate) - Viktor conjures a singularity on the field which deals magic damage and briefly silences enemies. The singularity then does magic damage to all nearby enemies every second. Viktor can redirect the singularity.

Ahri, the Nine-Tailed Fox
Orb of Deception: Ahri throws out and pulls back her orb, dealing magic damage on the way out and true damage on the way back.
Fox-Fire: Ahri releases three fox-fires, which after a short delay lock on and attack nearby enemies.
Charm: Ahri blows a kiss that damages and charms an enemy it encounters, causing them to walk harmlessly towards her.
Spirit Rush: Ahri dashes forward and fires essence bolts, damaging 3 nearby champions. Spirit Rush can be cast up to three times before going on cooldown.
Soul Eater (Passive): Ahri gains a charge of Soul Eater whenever one of her spells hits an enemy (max: 3 charges per spell). Upon reaching 9 charges, Ahri's next spell has bonus Spell Vamp.

Base health regen per 5 reduced to 7 from 9

Chum the Waters
Fixed a bug where Chum the Waters stopped working if Fizz died
Hitting an enemy who is immune to the Fish now causes the Fish to drop on the ground instead of fizzling
Using Quicksilver Sash now drops the Fish on the ground instead of causing the shark to emerge immediately
Added a 3-2-1 timer like Time Bomb
No longer hits nontargetable units like Vladimir in Sanguine Pool

Urchin Strike ability power ratio reduced to .6 from .7
Seastone Trident active base damage reduced to 10/15/20/25/30 from 10/20/30/40/50

While I understand that this isn't a completely new patch, chances are that Viktor is released today as part of Riot's regular 2 weeks per champion cycle, so there may or may not be new patch changes when we hit 2012.

For the sake of keeping GD simple and clean, I've started a new thread.

I've played against 2 shitty Viktors, and with 1 shitty Viktor, and watched Phreak's Viktor spotlight... I'm not impressed -.-

Looks like another potentially high skill ceiling on this guy. His upgradable 'item' is going to be neat to customize depending on your opponent's team comp. Let's grab this update and see what's he's like in games (First page post what? Never happens for me >.<)
He's French-Canadian, so he's gonna do fast expand into stupid zealot timing into something else gay

I'm worried about how the augment factors into the super-ultra-very-very-late game when everybody has 6 end game items and start triple poting.

the augment is pretty strong once its upgraded. +3 ap pre level normally then 200 health/6hp5 200mana/5mp5 or just 45 ap bonus. his spells are pretty cheap and have pretty short cds so i can see archangels being good but i found a morellos to be plenty enough mana regen in the few games ive played. hes interesting thats for sure

Correct, there are no patch notes or other changes, just the new Champion.

We wanted to continue to have some content come out over the holidays, while giving our teams a much needed rest/vacation.

I'm actually not sure and I'm not at a place where I have LoL installed to check.

I assume we're still on Patch 1.0.0.131. Viktor has been in the Profile => Champion menu since last week. Riot enabled the public to buy him today. But officially, there's no balance changes that came with the release of Viktor thus far.

a) How are his spells cheap? If you want to be aggressive in lane, he runs out OOM a lot faster than other APs do, at least from what I have been able to observe.
b) Morello's for mana regen? What about blue buff? I'd rather get a straight DC after 2 Doran's than Morello's.

Pretty slow (I might have done it wrong) and it takes you even longer to get your core. I still like duo lane poppy with a Soraka or Sona best.

Regarding Viktor:

I theorycrafting really good kiting with rylai, but after I tried to rush it it doesn't really seem good. More a 2nd/3rd big item for him.
He needs mana regen badly: his numbers are amongst the weakest for AP casters, in mana pool and mp5. This actually makes Augment:Gravity more interesting than it seems, combined with the fact that his W is quite tricky to land for chasing purposes because of its lack of range. The augment makes it a lot better in that sense.
Augmentower gives him even more chasing power, along with some tankyness... but I'm sold to cdr and I'll probably start RoA unless something better is found, if only for the early catalyst.

And as theorycrafted, the speed at which he gets oom and his inability to trade with bursty mages (he can poke with E, but that's a poke, not a trade) really make me think his kit fares far better against melee -> send that dude solotop, he still makes me think of Swain or Ryze, with less sustained damage and more mana problems.

I like the fact that his ult automatically follows the first target too. I didn't know it until I read that post, and trying to land everything while kiting in teamfights was pretty micro intensive.
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

That's only a problem in pro games and high level ranked games where people play passive early on because they think the enemy isn't stupid enough for them to take advantage of it. For me, most of the time, my team or the enemy team is just waiting to surrender 20.
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

A) cost wise is spells are cheap mana wise and i dont see why youd want to be aggressive in lane when quite frankly his early game sucks and his mana pool feels rather shallow.
B) i never said rush the morello's which i think you seemed to have taken it. Blue is nice and all but you arent gonna have it 24/7 just cuz of buff time vs respawn timer. And id say do dring fiendish over 2 drings just for the early cdr too which will help harass more.
Maybe were just looking at 2 different ways to play him currently as of how new he is, but is teamfight and mid to end game feel way more stronger then his laning.
