Honestly you didn't expect this? The mac client was taking forever, and this happens all the time for mac users. In the end its not Riot's fault that mac is so difficult to deal with, it's your fault for buying an inferior OS. Sorry, you can say all you want about how macs are just as good as windows etc. accessibility, music, w/e, but in the end this happens all the time to my buddies who use mac.
If you want to play video games and not just be a casual computer user, make the switch to a more gaming-friendly operating system. Those roadblocks are not present on other OS, so either run bootcamp or stop the Riot bashing just because you run an alternative operating system.
edit - my post sounds very anti-mac, I'm sorry. What I really mean is that if you knew you wanted to play LoL, and you knew that you could choose between a mac and a PC, the end blame ends up falling on you, not Riot. They don't owe you anything, and they even said that they would refund/give out codes for those of you affected.

A) You're a dick. B) There is a working mac client, Riot is still locking it out. C) I'm not a "casual computer user", I can't switch to another OS just for gaming. D) What other OS's isn't Riot shitting on? They are now Windows only and Windows is an inferior choice for some of the stuff I need to do with my computer. E) You want to pay the $160 for me to get a copy of Windows 7 to book camp? F) You're still a dick, thanks for coming to this thread just to take a shit on all the people on TL who use macs.

I believe Dominion some how or another broke the Mac client and Riot doesn't want to commit the money right now to getting the Mac client working. If you're in college you can get a copy of Windows 7 really cheap. I dunno about in Canada though, but my university offers it for like $30. There are also less than legal ways to obtain a copy of Windows...
To be fair to Riot, a lot of devs make their games for PC only. It makes sense as that's where the majority of their customers are. I think it's as much Apple's responsibility as it is the devs.

Riot could have simply continued to ignore the mac community and let them continue to support their own custom client rather then actively working against it. I don't expect Riot to sink resources into us, I expect Riot to not spend resources working against us.
Also I can't use the less then legal methods as my computer is being used for business at the moment and I need to keep it legit. Also does your university seriously offer it for $30, lol now I'm curious what the deal is and if you can hook me up.

i don't understand why everyone needs to jump on the mac-hating wagon, and even more so, i don't understand the reasoning behind this "it's your fault for picking an inferior OS" argument. you're right that if you want to buy a computer strictly for gaming, then a PC is your best bet. but there are tons of users out there who use their computers for other stuff, like work and school, where macs outshine PCs. does that mean these people are at fault, that they're not supposed to be able to play? absolutely not.

is their loss, dota 2 will be available for mac, and blizzard dota too, so they lost a lot of players.

I'm currently working in a game company, and we just started this year to release games on MAC.
The problem with MAC is that you have to devote a lot of resources to make it work, especially at the beginning when all your guys have to learn xcode, etc and then you risk the chance of not getting your money back as the MAC game market is really low.
Also Apple releases Lion OS and fucks up all your graphics without any explanation 1 month before the deadline.

I hate you so much right now, Riot.

so... mac client still working for me...

Will update the TL LoL Tech Support Thread this weekend when I find time.

great, i think developping for mac puts constraints on the pc veresion, since valuable time is spent for the mac.

love the anti-mac bs in here. upsets me, had no clue LoL mac client was being shut down until I tried to log in today. I don't have any other words for it really, as i'm speechless, except, nice going Riot, nice going.
edit: wow! at least we get a champion bundle so we can.. hey.. waiiiit a second.. edit2: oh, nevermind. apparently the offer only lasted a few days and ended on the 6th...

I have updated the Tech Support Thread with some information I recently saw. This is purely for reference purposes only.
For any Mac Users who are having difficultly with obtaining their Champion Bundle, my recommendation would be to submit a Support Ticket and explain your case. You may be successful depending on the circumstances.

Nono, you guys have this all wrong. There is a mac 'beta' client out there. It does work very well. It is unofficial but Riot respects them, and recognizes them. boompje.net is the website.
