I definitely see a rock/paper/scissor in the balancing of this game. With the advent/domination/whatever of tanky dps people say teemo got indirect buffs, kat got indirect nerfs.
AOE loses power compared to single target if people don't drop fast enough (I was so glad when riot stopped giving everyone aoe ults) Burst loses to things that can outlive QWER combos and CC gains importance here Tanky DPS relies on gap closers and going all in expecting their durability:damage beats a squishy's. Can be countered by ______?
TLDR: what else counters tanky dps besides teemo? how can we adapt?

Exhaust was the answer to Yi when they split the slow and the blind so that Highlander didn't remove both.

just a question, if Im playing a ranged auto attacker how do I decide between IE and ghostblade + brutalizer? is it an issue of how fast I can build up?

Is it just me or does this game just seem "off" at the moment. The thing that really got me thinking about it was loco's post about ranged dps not cutting it anymore.
Imo the problem is there is a severe lack of itemization for true damage dealers and even the ones we have are prohibitively expensive. The problem with tanky dps isnt their damage, its the fact that the strengthening curve for defense is exponentially faster than that of damage. In other words, someone like irelia, jarvan, or renekton can become too beefy to fast when compared to the speed at which ranged dps can kill them.
In my opinion they should drop the cost of the bf sword down by about 500 gold, and just see what happens. Big ticket items are still expensive, especially when you consider that an IE alone doesnt cut it, you need a pd or lw or bc as well. Additionally, this might swing the balance of tanky dps more towards attacking as well, since the cost of buying damage would be lower.

If only all AD items were as good as bruta or had as good of a trade off.
I think AP has better itemization and stats because unless you have a lichbane AP is useless without spells. Whereas AD affects autoattacks + crits. Only other ways to itemize would be to give "orb effects" ala DOTA and they tried this already (BR, phage, wits end)
