Next time we play, I'll pick Gazlowe and only use pings. We'll trick you again and get you thinking it was an AI game again as well :p
I'm so glad we ended up winning that other game haha. I was afk during the loading screen so I didn't see that we switched from AI to QM ^^;;

You had KT, winning was always possible :p, you should have seen the games we played yesterday. I felt bad for the sylvanas that was out of position every time I took DK and got octograb sploded every time.

A bit off topic, but there is no "success" thread and it's at least tangential to past QQ/Rage. My rage has finally subsided.
Middle of last month I was rank 4. Out of the next 40 games I won a total of 7, went all the way down to rank 13 and was expecting that I might end up at rank 40 since all the losses were crushing defeats. Now, another 50 games and 30 days later, I'm finally back to rank 4.
No matter how bleak it might look, it is possible to rise back up. It's painful, but it's possible.

There's this thread at least - http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/heroes/481438-the-awesome-moments-thread Your story doesn't take place in a moment, but that moment you hit your old rank probably felt pretty good and works fine

Yeah, I recently went through a similar slide and resurgence. Went from rank 11 to rank 25 over the course of a month, and in the last week I've jumped back to ran 10.

Matchmaker went full TROLLOLOL on me today. I decided to play around with my warriors a little.
Game 1 (BHB): ETC (me) Leoric Diablo Medic Nova vs Cho'Gall Medic Greymane Azmodan (notice, 5 stack, 5x solo for me) We've got no DPS, and Leoric, being one of our two heroes with waveclear, decides it is his duty to constantly chase Morales (notice, use ghost) and is at 5 deaths before the 5 minute mark. He is lowest in every stat in the game, for the entire game, except deaths (typical Leorky here). We're down to 2 keeps before getting our first tower because there is no way for me, Nova or Diablo to leave lanes because their push is far superior, and Leorky is just feeding on Morales/Chogall. GGWP Matchmaker
Game 2 (Battlefield): Muradin (me) Lunara Leoric Arthas Greymane vs. Zeratul Sylvanas Sonya Greymane Artanis (notice, 4 stack. Lunara/Greymane teamed up on my team) Again, zero to no DPS (as Lunara managed to die before every single fight started "Zeratul focus me tanks dont protect" (after diving PAST Sylvanas to not kill Sonya) leaving us to lose every immortal. Down lv 9 to 13 at some point. GGWP matchmaker.
Game 3 (Shrines): Rexxar (me) Jaina Kharazim Leoric Stitches vs. Muradin Morales Sonya Leoric Greymane (notice, 5 stack vs my Khara/Jaina couple) Kharazim had 40% of total heals of Morales (in a 6 body team!??!?!?!?!?!) with an exceptional 11 deaths and exactly 1 palm hit. Good news, at least we had the superior burst DPS (that went for a full blizzard build with Arcane Power despite Haymaker Muradin killing her instantly every fight) who ended with 13 kills.
I mean, some people say it's in your own hands, but really, I'm not taking blame for either of these three losses. I've tried explaining my teammates their mistakes (Leoric, please lane with us, Lunara, dont overextend, watch ur positioning, Kharazim, dont dive, ur dont belong in front of Leoric and Misha) but they completely disregard any constructive feedback I try to give and respond with GG Noob tanks dont protect me report. Matchmaker is trolling me like no tomorrow and I cannot make up for continuous feeding and complete lack of understanding of this game by my teammates despite constantly queueing against 4/5 stacks. What the fuck is this. Anyways, I'm tilted for the night. Matchmaker, ggwp. (Also, why do I get in 2/3 support teams when I play support, 5 Assassin teams when I play assassin, and 3 tank teams when I play warrior? WTF?)

Our zagara didnt want to win cuz of me butcher pick and that someone picked greymane in HL. She didnt try at all for like 10min. Maybe longer.
Not until she realised that we actually can win. One keep down but still we felt ahead. Was so close.
So sad attitude and i really love butcher. Feels so good to sometimes not play tier 1 heroes. And god i really wish they did something to the melee assassins in Hots

Anyone else loathe ai game heroes? By that I mean people that go into ai games and try to shot call everyone even when the game means nothing.
I had a valla just now who felt it right to call everyone on the team retards because they didn't go mid when he decided to call all mid on dragon shire. Just irks me, more so when I checked he is talking about improving and I checked his match history only to find he has only played ai on that account at least for months.

When you're trying to hammer out daily quests on a tight schedule, it can get really annoying when teammates just do random things. Generally speaking with easy AI the game will automatically come to a conclusion after 9-10 minutes no matter what you do, but if people are willing to take specific steps as a group of 5, the game can end in between 4-4:30 minutes.
Given that, I shotcall ai games when I want to get through quests, but that's because I only doso when I am short on time. (since I hate ai games). If 2-3 teammates don't go along with my guidance, I'll simply A-move the core and leave my computer running while I do errands around the house. If people won't help, a-moving across the map as sylvanas will literally end the game just as quickly as actively playing the game. (you just need to check in once every 3 minutes or so to a-move again if the bots somehow killed your character)

I sympathize with that, I squeezed in 3 games for dailies doing that before I had to take off for dinner plans tonight. Just rubs me the wrong way when people get a chip on their shoulder about beginner ai which this was. I just also wanted a glimpse into how the new hinterland and greymane tweaks worked out and this nerd got to me a bit.
I reported and left to catch my bus, but such a waste of energy to bother saying that to everyone

honestly I think the entire ai mode is kind of screwed up. The only reason to play beginner AI is to wipe out daily quests: if you want to test abilities then training mode works just as well, and if you want to practice characters before fielding them in QM then high difficulty ai is better. If you want to farm experience, just leaving the game to idle in training mode is even better, since you don't have to be at the computer doing things and games generally give a flat amount of xp/minute regardless of what happens in game.

Knocking down all forts and what have you adds some xp as well. I was more after knock out my daily and see if I could notice any difference in greymane with the changes. It's a strange game mode, that is certain. I clearly take some of it a bit more than heart than I should at times

forts don't give an xp advantage from a "xp per minute" perspective.

Why the hell do sonyas keep picking LEAP! Stupid fucking idiots.

As to why: for me, the main reason I'd someone take is leap is that in certain matchups, where the enemy has a lot of kite/disengage, I'd need it to do anything to their squishies.

1. If your team has no dive and dive is needed to shut down a certain hero who would otherwise be too protected - Sgt Hammer, Morales etc
2. If you have a Chen and you want dat sweet washing machine

Lost 7 games in a row in HL today, dropped down to rank 3. More importantly it crippled my 80% win rate Nova. People never listening to any calls or just standing next to me watching, got a silenced player in my team like 3 times, got unranked players in my team who were clueless (one time two unranked players in a party vs all rank 1s). People just bitching about you picking Nova from the draft screen to the end of eternity, it's insane. Anyway I finally got a win and it was a complete stomp, 21-1 in kills and we were just walking over forts like we didn't care. gg matchmaking, it makes me crazy sometimes (ok a lot of times).

I really wish I never got matched with rank 20+ people. It doesn't seem right that a rank 1 can party with a rank 28.
