There you go  Also apart from that it seems the matchmaking has stabilized a little because I've been playing tons of hero league recently and most of my team mates/enemies are around the same rank. | ||

Yesterday I was rank 45, 9 games played (7-2) of Hero League. I played 3 games. -First game was a Malfurion win that I found easy due to comboing my CC with Kerrigan for easy picks and engages. The game had multiple rank 1s with master MMR according to hotslogs in it, I got 460 league points and hopped to rank 43. -Second game I played Brightwing and it felt like the lowest skill game of the day. No one would tell me what their ranks were, but most people were 2700-3000 MMR on hotslogs. Which is theoretically diamond? Dunno, felt like a silver level LoL game. Was kinda sad. But I got 480 points and jumped to rank 40. -Third game was another Brightwing game, where I shut down the enemy Illidan so hard he got the lowest hero damage on his team. This game had multiple players above 3500 MMR including one opponent in the top 150 players. I was shutting the Illidan down so hard that the game was easy. I got another 460 points and hopped to rank 38. Rank 1 players don't seem particularly good compared to, say, Diamond LoL players. I guess coming from a pretty high skill LoL background and playing enough Quick Match games to know the heroes and maps makes me better than what Blizzard claims should be 98% of players? Was pretty funny revealing to my rank 1 team mates that I was rank 45 after an easy win that I was a large part of making happen. As far as I can tell, MMR is just super crazy weighted for your first large chunk of Hero League games, so rocking an 80%+ win rate shot me through the roof as to where Blizzard thinks I should be. Fun times. | ||

I can only assume that's what happens with Hero League and was part of the motivation for gating it at lvl 30 - force ppl to play enough Quick Match to seed that initial Hero League MMR. Probably why they resisted putting in placement games too. The system clearly thinks you are very good because 460 league points is much more than I was getting when I was doing my climb from 40-35 or whatever I'm at now. Your initial rank doesn't really mean anything anyways, so I'm a little confused why people are so upset about playing with r40's, cuz it seems more likely that their MMR and rank haven't converged yet (as in your case). | ||

The thing is, Ritha for example may be good enough to play with ranks 1, but a lot of people aren't, so if they go to hero league and for x reason win their first couple of games, they will get a very inflated MMR, and play with rank1s. Even if those rank 49 are mechanically good, they may not know all the heroes, they may not know everything about the maps. Experience and decition making plays a very big part in this game and those ranks 49 simply don't have that experience, which leads to bad games in general. So that's why people are mad about playing with people from lower ranks, their MMR may be more or less the same as theirs, but it is inflated, and it may not reflect their true skill level until it balances out. Also, I feel like you get "stuck" in an MMR range too fast, I haven't played that much hero league and I'm already winning too few points (in my opinion at least, cause I don't know how many points other people win at my rank). In my last 15 games I've got 13 victories, 10 of them in a row so it seems I'll still be able to keep going up on ranks, but it won't be that fast. | ||

Then again, that also assumes QM skills translate well to Hero League. And I can vouch that the learning curve for picking a good comp that also includes a hero you can play well (important!) can be quite steep for some people. | ||

Ironside Dire Wolf mount (Heroes of the Storm mount) for getting level 100 in WoW. HotS themed Hearthstone card back for getting account level 12 in HotS. Grave Golem battle pet for WoW is apparently for account level 20 in HotS. Launch week portrait is for the logging into HotS during launch week I guess. The Hearthstone card mount is for winning 100 games in Hearthstone, although I don't think it's been confirmed whether it's retroactive or not. The mechano-spider mount is for doing the FB crap at teambuilder.heroesofthestorm.com (you don't need to like it, even though it says you do, and it doesn't message anyone you pick as part of your team). An active subscription to WoW isn't required. ATM I don't have the Hearthstone card mount, but do have the required wins, don't know whether it's laggy/bugged or not retroactive. | ||
