Maybe something's getting lost in translation but it seems unnecessarily harsh to point the finger exclusively at one (unnamed) player. Especially since they're benching two people. But the manager is on reddit not-so-subtly bashing ADRD so maybe that's just how they roll.
To save some time most people on reddit are narrowing in on the fact that ADRD stood in Starfall at lvl 12, walked halfway through it then died attempting to back out all without attacking or being attacked by anyone. A lot of people pointing out Jowe's mistakes too* and how poorly the series went in general (but I haven't watched), so just an odd situation all around.
* I noticed him engaging 4v5 while his team was backing off and dying. I also noticed him getting caught out 2v5 prior to ADRD's derp-move. Still seems harsh, feels like little moments like these happen pretty often over a series.
Compare Zuna breaking down this game last week: he's very frank with where people mess up and continues to point it out over the entire game, not just one moment where he says 'and that's where x lost us the game.'

He troll picks from time to time in solo queue, so does Jowe
I was going to question the manager, singling out players, especially in public.. It's shit you just don't do. But the final paragraph implies much to me.
“Why this change? Why change a team that is currently the second best in Europe? Because you have to think ahead all the time, you need to invest in new opportunities and fix problems when words sometimes are not enough. The coming weeks will show whether this decision was right or not.”
Too big for their own boots? Needed taking down a peg or two? Reading between the lines leaves me feeling this has been brewing for a while.
Considering the person on reddit who posted the article was YOLO calling out ADRD he is either full pissed at him or trying to burn a bridge to get ADRD off the team. I agree it is pretty classless, though. If you are going to bench someone just bench them. Don't do this solo queue call out crap.
"We cannot hide the sadness that we felt after the match mainly due to the last game, a defeat for which only one player is to blame." How can you even write something like this. I fucking copied BW instead of illidan in a core call and we lost on 9% and my team still backs me up even though I fuckt up bigtime. Shit happens, learn to lose.
I guess it's pretty clear that this wasn't just about the one game. But I haven't been following the EU scene much lately, has he been doing stupid stuff in other games too? I gather he was also the shot-caller for G2? If that's the case then the possibility for behind the scenes issues would be even higher.

It's more pathetic to watch members of one of the most respected teams in EU, feed and troll in hero league, when really they should be showing supreme gameplay. First picking Gazlowe and picking non-preferable roles in hero league just to piss people off, is not the way to show it. And then you have the weird picks and plays from tournaments, most likely enhanced by their shitty performances off-air.

Most pathetic is your attitude that the players owe anyone besides their team anything.

You're freaking joking right? They attended 2 offline events, played tons of online tournies with 1st places and all they give back to their team is bad reputation? Like seriously, you would really let 2 trolls stay on your top3 EU team? What the fuck.

Not joking, I said exactly what I meant.
Your premise is based on the assumption that the players in question somehow sullied the integrity or reputation of their team by "first picking Gazlowe and picking non-preferable roles in hero league just to piss people off".
I don't believe that. I believe the only people those two players owe anything to are their team.
I don't think you have any understanding whatsoever of the personal relations between the team. You don't know if "first picking Gazlowe and picking non-preferable roles in hero league just to piss people off" means anything to their team. For instance, maybe the only thing that matters to the team is winning, and they don't really care about other things.
I don't know, I'm not on the team and I have no way of knowing how they personally interact with each other.
Based on this and what you labeled as "pathetic", I thought I would share that I think expecting things of others that others do not owe is pathetic.

The thing is that this mentality they obviously gained from hero league/quick match/whatever took a hold and made them do it in tournaments as well. I can't remember who they played against, but i clearly remember when they were up 2-0 and took Gazlowe for the lulz (played by adrd, with imo a terrible build and playstyle) and went 2-2 cus of it. That's just not a winner's mentality at all, it's like taking a gambling because you think it's funny to pull off the G a z l o w e b o y s
It obviously did mean something, it was enough to get them both kicked off the team, but whether or not the trolling i pointed out actually mattered is pretty much speculation, i get that. But it's kind of a coincidence (to me) that what i referred to happened like 2 weeks ago, and now they got benched.

You must really, really hate SC players who smurf and just play asinine troll builds against low MMR players
Gonna try something new and close this in order to move discussion to this thread with the new patch. Will function the same but the OP has the patch notes in it, we can talk about it there or not or whatever. The League forums do this and I kinda like it, will see how it plays out here.
