I agree with Cursed being the best. I love that you can sac tributes to get ahead on map pressure and camps. It's really just the best map overall. I do I like the seed map a good bit as well though, and Dragon Shire can have some pretty epic stand-offs.

I will say in pugs I feel cursed is misunderstood where people greatly, greatly over value tributes. It seems no amount of "retreat" flags matter and they're so damn concerned with contesting and throwing bodies into every tribute that spawns. The curse generally means you'll lose a keep or fort and not a whole lot more. Since the opponent creeps one-shot your creeps the team WITH the curse actually earns more XP as a comeback mechanic since the cursed team can actually farm all lane XP where it is easy to lose lane XP if you delivered the curse. Of all the maps I feel it has the best mechanic because of this.

Thats a fair point, but i hope they just change blackhearts sightly and not remove it. I hope héroes doesnt end up in the lame position of sc2 where all the maps are more or less the same, and thats completely the fault of pro players who are very conservative and whiny average players that just copy/repeat whatever the pros say.

Also make sure to check the TL guides for Garden and blackhearts

Interesting I had not thought about the XP aspect of it.

To get my team to not contest I usually ping and just be debbie downer - '3v5 careful' or something like that. Usually that's why you skip tribute after all, so it's been working well enough.

Lately, I've been ignoring the first tribute if I'm on the opposite side of the map, that fight doesn't last very long and lane xp seems more important anyways. Haven't had anyone yell at me about that yet. But boy have I been yelled at for solo-ing bot at the start of Blackheart's or Sky Temple (another reason to hate those maps?).

Edit: Speaking of comebacks I had this doozy on Garden of Terror

Lost Vikings d/c-ing
2 keeps left versus their 3 (and I think they had a fort too)

I guess they got cocky, let us catch up on levels then wiped at the worst possible times (they seemed to push more than go for seeds too)

While a tad silly, I find the 5 min first tribute fight where people die and return two or three times hilarious.

My best comeback is Haunted Mines, down 2 levels, teammates saying it's over, enemy gets 100 skull 3rd golem, we defend after some Mulan-esque be a man pep talks and core is at 4% with golem dead on it obviously. We proceed to pick off one or two and delay, mines reopen they start collecting a 88 or so skull golem while we bum rush through a keep and their core as their golem is one thump from spawning. Honestly the enemy team was just retarded but my bro and I laughed for a good five minutes. Never give up.

I wish they pushed back the first tribute (or as I suggest a while ago increase early-game death timers) because I find the mass respawning tribute fight very, very tedious

it's a very sparse channel whenever I'm on (like under 10 people).

So I don't know that you'll find many people around anyways, but you can add me if you want wuster#1912 although I have yet to play with anyone from TeamLiquid lol.

Not a big fan of Cursed Hollows because I feel the tribute locations can be a bit unfair by spawning close to one teams moonwell.

Haunted Mines is great for creating epic game ends. Base races and crazy all-ins are much more common on that map than any other. Starting to like it more even though it has its dull moments.

Garden of Terror on the other hand is a nightmare to play with loners. Feels like the average time on that map is 30+ minutes because of all the 30-40 minute games I get on it.

Blackheart Bay is fun the first 5-10 minutes, then it's usually just PvE.

Dragonshire is good for creating lots of rotations even in pub games. The dragon knight feels really weak during the first 10-15 minutes of the game though.

I quite like Sky Temple because the first half of the game is so important. Biggest problem is that my computer seems to be too old to handle it very well.

Shes very vulnerable, and i've got the impression a lot of pros are afraid of the "hard stuff" But i guess that the usual development of the game, first they analize the easy stuff, then they try the more obscure, weird combos when the first doesn't work anymore. I think jaina has its place in the competitive scene, but i don't find her particulary fun to be honest.


Also, just had 3 terrible games. "glad we lost" Why isn't there a proper report option on the game yet? I want all of this to stop.

She seems a lot less vulnerable than Nazeebo, and she does more damage.. I don't get it. More burst damage, more damage overall, more build variety. I mean she doesn't have to sit doing nothing while she channels ult. She's slowing everyone by 35% (25% if you don't take talent) all the time. Can spec for two roots in quick succession (icy veins + cone of cold root, which btw is way better than sprint). Nazeebo does get more health though and can block with his zombies.

Nazeebo's effects show more clearly. Jaina effects are not that easily noticed. Atleast I think there is a psychological effect to it, was for me atleast.
And I would say Jaina is on the harder to play side of things.
