I guess the news channels don't want to state the plain fact that Obama obviously wins because they won't want people to switch off. All my channels are no it anyway though so I really can't watch anything else. i think they're just waiting for the polls on the west coast to close so that they don't affect the voting patterns in the west

It's entirely possible to tie. You can get 269 for each with some really weird situations.

Great results so far, keep them coming mass-media! you assume that every republican will want to filibuster there are enough moderates in the republican party that not having 60 dems might not be a problem not to mention the fact that not every democrat is going to like every proposed law whether he'd help to filibuster his own party though..who knows actually it's widely believed that the republican party will shift to the right if tonight is a landslide, reason being that the more moderate republicans coincidentally occupy the seats most vulnerable to a Dem tidal wave.
this is widely believed by whom?

Why is Michigan going to Obama when the popular vote shows McCain ahead? Someone make sense of this for me, thanks.

So far Obama is doing better with white voters than Kerry or Gore.
I'm against Obama, but the fact that this is true, shows that people who think we are a racist country are probably wrong.

According to CNN's website (http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/individual/#mapSKY), it's still incredibly close (50% vs 50%) with only 68% of the precincts reporting. There's still a good chance, unless I'm missing some more up-to-date coverage somewhere.
Either way, I did my part. I voted Lunsford and he's winning by a nice margin in my county.

It would further undermine the Iranian regime, in addition to their economic collapse due to the falling price of oil.
