And its not like another black candidate would perform as well as obama I would compare it to catholics after kennedy won, less important on the central stage, but not entirely gone | ||

actually it's widely believed that the republican party will shift to the right if tonight is a landslide, reason being that the more moderate republicans coincidentally occupy the seats most vulnerable to a Dem tidal wave. Actually this could be good. If Republicans stop spending big and become fiscally responsible, that could be what saves them. So if more real conservatives remain, that could be good. I think dems are better at being dems. So Reps should stick with being Reps. | ||

So Reps should stick with being Reps. i don't see how this is the case specter in PA, both the maine senators, smith in oregon, coleman on minnesota (if he wins) are still pretty moderate, it's not like they're going to suddenly swap their views on everything just because dems are in power | ||
