The only thing I don't like about Chinese stores is their smell. They have produce/fish/etc. on the first floor of every store, and that bugs me. But the second/third/+ floors are all very nice. They're kind of like French malls, or at least the only one I've ever visited (Galleries Lafayette).
I like it that way. If a person want to be an asshole in Chinese super-markets then it comes down to a battle of wits. None of that company policies crap. keke
I swear every Chinese super-market is a fire-hazard. They have employees whos job is just standing next to the shelves and watch customers so customers won't steal shits. Apparently it's cheap to hire 20 more employees than get some video cameras.

it was stopped because of check kayaking or whatever.. where people would write checks for 50$ for a bag of M&M's or something and then put the money in the account the next day to cover the funds before it posted at midnight.. quick cash scheme

in all honesty i don't mind wal-mart other than the fact i hate how white trash the customers can be.. i'm 20 years old and i'm considering getting a costco or sams club membership or something just to escape the weird people , at least some of them ;O..
but in terms of service it's usually fine for me.. i spend an hour walking around getting random things and grocery shopping.. the prices are decent.. and i get out in about 5 mins or so .. so i'm satisfied

You can't process a check for a different amount than what's on the check itself. You should have either asked the customer to edit her check, or process it for $30. I don't know if at walmart you can process checks over the amount (you can't do that where I work, but at supermarkets you can).
Yah people are cheap, but that shit happens all the time. Move on from it and _ALWAYS_ remember:
[caps] CHECK YOUR CHECKS __BEFORE__ YOU PROCESS THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [/caps] I used to be 2-7 For Kohl's and my CO always told me that they process the amount written on the check not what is printed on afterwards. Hence some of my cashiers I wrote up cause they didn't check to see the amount written on the check and we took a loss cause they are morons. BTW quit KOHL's now its a piece of shit retailer. It's like 10 years behind every other retailer out there.

I was shopping at Stop and Shop and this lady held up a line for like 15 minutes because she wanted like 2 bucks off some mass of pink lemonade packets she bought. I understand wanting to get what was advertised, but after about a minute I would have said screw it and just not gotten it. Didn't help that they only had 4 cashiers and all of them had like 5 plus people waiting in them.
I was tempted to throw a couple of dollar bills and say "THERE'S YOUR CHEAP LEMONADE NOW GET OUT OF THE LINE ALREADY" but I resisted. -_-

When I worked at Subway it was in a really crappy part of town. For the customer washroom at the back of the store there was a buzzer I had to push for the customers to get in, so I could control who went in. However, for some strange fucking reason, there was also a deadbolt lock that could be thrown from the inside. Weirdest thing ever.
Anyways, one night a customer was leaving the bathroom and left by the exit near it. Just as he left, a junkie snuck in that door and caught the bathroom door before it closed. I was busy so I counldn't do much about it then. 45 minutes later...
a customer comes up to me while I am almost done the lineup and informs me there is blood running out the bottom of the door in the grout of the tiles. The crazy bitch had locked herself in there, thrown the deadbolt, and then freaked out. She thought her ovaries were giving her cancer, and attempted a self-hysterectomy with a switchblade. Needless to say, it was a fucking mess.
After the ambulance came and took her away, I looked in the bathroom and it was like the hallway of The Shining. I called the owner to tell her the situation and she asked me to clean it up with "bleach and extra gloves". I laughed at her, called the bio-hazard guys, and signed the 800$ bill for the store.
My grandfather used to pray for my safety every night in that place.

Yeah I'm working a job at a local Taco Time (Mexican fastfood place) as a cashier. I pretty much hate my job but my parents won't let me quit because they are Asian and want me to learn that "money izu berryyy haadu to makuuuu." I pretty much hate everyone now.
I hate little kids. They are unable to eat their fucking kid's meals without spilling at least half of it on the floor. Parents never seem apologetic about the mess their kids make and are sometimes just as bad.
I hate old people. I don't know if it's because I'm skinny and Asian, but they all seem to think that it's alright to treat me like shit. They always think they're right and if I make the smallest mistake they talk to me like I'm a fucking retard.
I also hate the people I work with. All the godamn Mexicans can't speak any English and the only people that do speak English, the managers, usually just sit in the corner being lazy.
Homeless people suck. When I first started working I felt sorry for them because they are well, homeless. But then I realized that a lot of homeless guys are nasty and jerks. They shave in the bathroom and leave shit-trails all over the place which I have to clean up.
The worst part of my job is that I got home smelling like fried burritos.

Whenever I'm in the Wal Mart nearest to me, I simultaneously feel both elitist and sympathetic towards people who normally have to shop there for clothes, or have to work there because they followed in their parents footsteps and never made any attempt at getting an education.
My favorite part is when some guy grabbed my bag out of my hand because the "alarm went off." The alarm never went off; he just wanted to be a prick.
By the way, no store has the right to check your purchases after you've purchased them. If they are accusing you of shoplifting, they are required by law, to say what item you have hidden where on your person. If they do not do so, they are breaking the law. But, if you stop for them when they don't follow procedure, you can't do anything. But, if they attempt to detain you, you can sue them for false imprisonment.
So, unless the alarm actually goes off, don't stop for anyone. You don't have to. If they harass you, call the police.

Haha this is true they cannot detain you because you refuse to open your bags. Also I don't know any retailer that does this. If they are accusing you of shoplifting, they are required by law, to say what item you have hidden where on your person. If they do not do so, they are breaking the law. The reason for this is they have evidence of you shop lifting their Undercovers will wait until you exit the building and stop you there. Now there are very few retailers left that don't have a no touch policy only one I can think of is Target and maybe walmart, But the majority of them will not touch you if they clearly see you steal they will infact surround and try and intimidate you back into the store where they call the police and let them take it over from there.
