Wasn't exactly a great job for me anyway, I have a terrible temper and hate people being disrespectful. I'm suprised I lasted as long as I did at it. Oh well, making 15 euro per hour working flexible hours in an office and sometimes from home now, doing multimedia for their distance learning courses. So those damn supermarkets can stfu.  | ||

Anyway, people who work there take absolutely no shit from anyone... No body want to cause trouble anyway when 30+ people are waiting in the same line as you and would support the cashier because they want you out of the queue as soon as possible. | ||

The only thing I don't like about Chinese stores is their smell. They have produce/fish/etc. on the first floor of every store, and that bugs me. But the second/third/+ floors are all very nice. They're kind of like French malls, or at least the only one I've ever visited (Galleries Lafayette). | ||

We never had enough cashiers, we normally had more than 5 people in lines. We also never had enough cart pushers This is a continuing trend at every store, the way Wal-Mart squeezed each store's budget is the cause to this unfortunate problem. I was making less than $9 an hour as a manager at Wal-Mart Heheheh, I work there as an Assistant Manager (store 5338) and let me tell you, your position is not yet considered management. Hourly supervisors are paid dirt cheap, but once you hit management positions, we start at mid 40K's, here in SoCal. Customers are douche bags Yes co workers are stupider than customers HELL YES! And the CSM's are fucking slow and lazy Not all! I walked over to their desk so many times when they were just chatting away about bullshit instead of working and paying attention and then they have the audacity to yell at me for leaving my register. I'd fire their asses, first, for standing around yapping, and second, for yelling at another associate. | ||

The customer usually gives us the check blank, and we run it through an automatic machine which prints the total and the words VOID VOID through the number box. The customer can keep the check or throw it away - it's been voided. The register prints off a receipt which the customer needs to sign, and we keep the receipt. Then a customer copy is printed off. We always tell customers not to write checks, but some people do to keep their carbon, which definitely ok. I've never had anyone hand me a check for an amount over what's paid without telling me they did so. Usually, it's for amounts in multiples of twenty. No one does it for freaking $3.33. Maybe it's different at Kohl's. | ||
