Agreed with JimmiC above, this post is wrong on multiple levels There is no reason to reduce a serious, complex problem to a broad personal attack like this.

I hate the boomer response 'weed very bad lol' Yeah it's bad, but so are other things. It's not THAT bad though. Alcohol is often heralded by boomers.

Even more than hockey being canceled, which I have not really heard anything negative about. But I think no Timmy's would create a real and humorous shit storm on social media. I've never understood why people go to Tim Horton, there's food but not really enough to get a cheap fulling meal or a satisfying dinner and pretty much only plain coffee and tea and nothing to fancy, and there's pretty much no side snack or pastry saved for (delicious) donuts and almost always barely enough place to sit. I'm always confuse when I walk into one and hear thing like "do you want a coffee with your soup to go?"

Something about the phrasing of the bar alternative here amused me : He also said to be prepared for a drastic spike in positive tests on Monday at one point, but I can't find the source. There are a number of economic steps being taken as well : They're also trying to setup low interest loans for any businesses affected by the closures. I think Ohio is handling it really well. Illinois is doing the same for restaraunts/bars by end of day Monday. https://chicago.suntimes.com/coronavirus/2020/3/15/21180375/coronavirus-bars-restaurants-closed-pritzker-trump-pence-cdc-covid-19

I suppose that’s the “shut everything down” approach some folks were hoping for.

My state governor closed down events over 250 people. Local schools are shut down for two weeks, with some online programs scrapped together for students stuck at home (with AP testing around the corner). My job can’t be done from home and is impacted by what’s in demand right now, so it’s pretty crazy. The calls and email volume is so high. Has government announced that they'll pay/help financially those who can't work? I think I've read that somewhere. If so, is it good enough?

So yes the main goal is to slow the spread to flatten out the curve of new cases not eliminated them completely (eliminating would obv be great but that is really hard).Excuse me for this probably obvious question, but why does it matter if people enter shops only 5 at a time? What difference does it make if someone is infected? Or, is the idea to infect as few people as possible but not to eliminate it completely? But if that's the case, the infected person could touch a lot of items/surfaces, so everyone after them could still get infected or maybe it's low enough risk? Additionally people still need to go to the supermarket to buy food and other necessities. Especially considering this is going to take upwards of 2 weeks. I saw that somewhere in Spain shoppers had to wear gloves, I imagine that helps a bit, aswell as more regular cleaning. And remember that action taken now doesn't show up in the amount of new cases for 2 weeks. That is also why these actions are being taken while the situation looks kinda ok. If you only take action when its close to getting out of hand your already to late because of the lag time from incubation.

Can we sticky it? | ||
