That must mean that there are multiple people above the 4.0 average and they all got to be valedictorian. Ridiculous.

AP classes at every other school only give you a maximum of up to a 5.0 Honestly, I'd like to know what she got on her SAT's

You can talk all you want about how GPA means nothing and how you would've blah blah blah, fact is you didn't. JLIG That being said, 8.0 GPA wtf? I'd have to agree that's some fucked up school, but it doesn't mean she's an attention whore or not intelligent. Insecure much? Edit: wooo lurker P.S. Not directed at daaman. ![]()

Also, classes like Health (which can't be AP and are automatically 4.0 if you get a 100) drops my GPA to lower than a 5.0. Damn T_T no offence but the system is obviously flawed then. not only because people taking AP classes can just outclass a regular high achiever, but because you cant get a regular max GPA per every subject you take. mostly for the former though. hi im a college grad, i have a 4.0 GPA. omg! this guy must be smart. put him down as a probable. hi, my GPA is 4.7 out of 4 ![]() ... wtf?

But yoga is very popular..... which makes me wonder if we actually get any exercise even with the required PE. It is true that it's easier for girls to get in. I've heard of so many cases of girls and guys at the same high school, where the girl was accepted and the guy dropped even when the guy had slightly better credentials. MIT has considerably pulled the gap between male/female ratios and it is nearly 50:50 now. Hopefully she doesn't turn into an annoying freshman who goes around bragging about high school stats. American student 1: I got a 1600 without even studying. American student 2: I bombed it, only got a 1550. ![]() Chinese/Korean Int student: SAT? Doesn't everybody here get perfect? I received a gold medal at the international chemistry Olympiad.... Ah, fuck. Too many people talk about classes and past achievements. I remember, as a freshman, I've had at least 10 conversations over lunch about other people's SAT scores.

When I wrote what I wrote I was considering she must have high intelligence, otherwise all the hard work or nerd-ness in the world wouldn't have brought her that GPA What I wasn't considering, though, is that indeed she MAY not be all so smart. But I don't think we should underestimate her, even though we really don't like her lifestyle ![]() She HAS common sense for working hard, otherwise I don't think she is anything special. And to tell you the truth, I thinks its pretty stupid of you think she is somekind of genius based on grades. Please don't make any stupid/ignorant assumptions like this. Not all real smart genius people fit the category that fills up a slot of your flawed perception or stereotypes. BTW to that one korean person, since when did Koreans started winning international science olympiads? Or perfect SAT scores? ![]()

More than a ratio of 3:1. I always got at least 8 hours of sleep in high school. She makes it seem like a big deal. Girls like her will come to MIT and get like 2 hrs of sleep a night. They complain a lot more than they actually study.

I was assuming (towards the end) that she may very well not be a stereotype You (and many others) consider her a sterotype, I was just saying there is a possibility that she isn't one. Besides my first post, I didn't integrate her into any category. You throw away words like "ignorant" and "flawed" easily at people, don't you? what-ever, but be careful

Oh I see, because there are 3 times more Koreans than Chinese in this category at MIT it means that there are therefore more Koreans than Chinese in thsi category in the world. Thanks for this explanation. Cause you know, there are so many more Koreans than Chinese. China could have .0001% population in science and have more than the male population of South Korea.
