Turns out firing all the people who know how to do their jobs and replacing them with podcasters still hasn't worked out great for Trump. It's actually too bad it got dismissed at that level as the whole case was looking pretty grim due to the incompetence an unethical moves by Halligan and her team, but now I'm sure we'll see MAGA continue to claim Comey was guilty because the merits of the case were never questioned.

And because, strangely enough, Republicans were also against healthcare for legal immigrants / Americans too. Their platform is literally healthcare for no one.

Wait what? I did not expect this. At all. What is going on.

Trump saw the light. at the end of a tunnel.
which is the voter on the pain train barrelling towards him. being in charge while things go to shit and reacting with pointing fingers... not a winning recipe it turns out.
sooner or later you are found out. once the wave of anger is actually massive, no amount of gerrymandering I reckon will save his or his party's hides. or so the "project 2026" hope goes. Democrats can always lose to themselves.

Look at the polling results for Trump. Literally the only thing he isn’t clearly underwater on is Israel-Palestine and the border (notably he is generally underwater when it comes to immigration in general, he just polls OK when specifically about the border). He is cooked in every economy related metric in the same way Biden was, if not worse.
People can point to the 1-3% GDP growth but it’s exactly like Biden’s economic figures. Technically the economy is growing but no one is feeling the growth because it’s all AI related growth and the only people spending money are the top 10% of income earners who are directly or indirectly benefiting from the Oracle-OpenAI-nVidia AI investment circlejerk through portfolio growth.
The issue is that the Trump Administration is purposely choosing to run this economy hot and this hot economy is cooking everyone else, especially in terms of inflation.
Everyone else is getting crushed by rampant inflation in insurance premiums, rentals, utility prices, food prices as well as a pretty dogshit jobs market that is limiting economic mobility. Non-negotiables in modern day life. There’s a reason why he’s constantly bitching out and doing stuff like this ACA extension or removing tariffs on beef (since much of the US’ ground beef is currently imported due to shortages iirc).
|
yeah "we are going to take illegals and lazy libcucks of the ACA" does wonderful as a soundbite but when the recipients of those tax credits, who are for a large part Republicans, start seeing their new premiums it all becomes very real.
Just yet another 'surely the leopards won't eat my face' moment.

Meta had a 17-strike policy for sex trafficking, former safety leader claims@TheVerge
Meta allegedly gave accounts engaged in the “trafficking of humans for sex” 16 chances before suspending them, according to testimony from the company’s former head of safety and well-being, Vaishnavi Jayakumar. The testimony — along with several other claims that Meta ignored problems if they increased engagement — surfaced in an unredacted court filing related to a social media child safety lawsuit filed by school districts across the country.
“That means that you could incur 16 violations for prostitution and sexual solicitation, and upon the 17th violation, your account would be suspended,” Jayakumar said during her deposition. She added that this “is a very high strike threshold” by “any measure across the industry,” according to the lawsuit. Internal documentation also “confirms” this policy, lawyers claim.
As reported by Time, the unredacted filing reveals other disturbing accusations, including that Meta “did not have a specific way” for Instagram users to report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on the platform. When Jayakumar learned about this, she reportedly “raised this issue ‘multiple times,’ but was told that it would be too much work to build” and to review reports.
Though Meta recently won its antitrust battle against the Federal Trade Commission, the company is facing mounting regulatory and legal pressure over child safety on the platform. The unredacted filing is part of a massive lawsuit filed against Meta, TikTok, Google, and Snapchat by dozens of school districts, attorneys general, and parents, alleging they are contributing to a “mental health crisis” by operating “addictive and dangerous” platforms. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told The Verge last year that he believes there is “no causal connection” between social media and teen mental health.
The filing reveals multiple instances in which Meta is accused of downplaying the harms of its platforms in favor of boosting engagement. In 2019, Meta considered making all teen accounts private by default in order to prevent them from receiving unwanted messages; however, the company allegedly rejected the idea after the growth team found it would “likely smash engagement.” Meta started putting teens on Instagram into private accounts last year.
The lawsuit also claims that while Meta researchers found that hiding likes on posts would make users “significantly less likely to feel worse about themselves,” the company walked back these plans after finding it was “pretty negative to FB metrics.” Meta is similarly accused of reinstating beauty filters in 2020, even after finding that they were “actively encouraging young girls into body dysmorphia.” Taking away the filters could have “negative growth impact, simply because any restriction is likely to reduce engagement if people go elsewhere,” Meta said, the lawsuit alleges.
well that pivot towards the G(uardians)O(f)P(edophiles - allegedly!) by the Techbros makes more sense by the minute.
Social Darwinism and more money than money as your god, Trump as your Champion in the White House as long as you gift him ballrooms and other social media related/Ai slop favours?
maybe breaking them up is not enough for the absurd damage their money printing machines are doing to all generations of online users, but especially the younger one. dealing with CSAM and sex trafficking as "too much of a bother", what an absurd travesty.

I couldn't name a single person in Donald Trump's orbit that's more devoid of human empathy than Mark Zuckerberg, and that's genuinely saying something when his competition includes people like Stephen Miller and Jeffrey Epstein.
|
I don't know, Zuck is pretty vanilla to me, just as sociopath much like Larry Page or Bezos, disgusting piece of shit, sure, but even compared to someone like Musk who throws heil hitlers at inauguration and "feeds USAID to the wood-chipper for the weekend" causing hundreds of thousands of deaths he seems pretty milquetoast.
I'm aware of how shitty Meta has been, I mean, Facebook basically facilitated the genocide in Myanmar and he didn't seem to bat an eye, but that seemed more like a "we couldn't be bothered to stop it" then actively going after life saving aid and rejoicing in it.
Don't get me wrong, they are all horrible, but people like Trump, Miller, Vance etc. are in positions that they craved so they could exercise their lack of empathy and are actively going after people they hate, that seems worse to me then Zuck.

Zuckerberg is the epitome of a Capitalist. Someone utterly devoid of morality who's only concern in the bottom line. He might not actively want to hurt people, but he won't bat an eye if millions of children suffer to feed his bottom line.

Regardless of whether Mark Zuckerberg is apathetic or sociopathic or anything else, the idea that "Meta allegedly gave accounts engaged in the 'trafficking of humans for sex' 16 chances before suspending them, according to testimony from the company’s former head of safety and well-being, Vaishnavi Jayakumar" is still insane.

He’s a bloke who made a ‘hot or not?’ app in school that exploded into something gigantic, and he’s got no idea what to do with his billionaire status, or what Facebook/Meta should do.
He feels caught between many stalls as it were. I think if he went with his heart he’d just fuck off and live anonymously with his dungeon full of money. But there’s another bit about directing ‘transformative’ tech that pulls him back in.
Cod psychology of course, it’s just the vibe I get.
Musk obviously has an ego the size of a planet and wants to reshape things to his whims, I think he’s much shitter but he’s temperamentally much better suited to being a billionaire with all that power than Zuck.

I generally find billionaires akin to cancer, cells that don't have an off switch for reproduction so they keep on going until they consume everything they can get their hands on. There are notable exceptions like Warren Buffet who seems OK or that MySpace guy who actually did fuck off, but they are exceedingly rare.
Don't know about you, but I'd much rather the overlord being someone with a temperament of Zuck then Musk.
I don't think Zuck really has a "heart", I think he's a psychopath or a sociopath and his main motivation has been growing his wealth as much as possible, not sure to what end but that's how he reads to me.
Musk is incredibly vein, malicious, petty and is on a clear mission to spread right wing ideology across the world and the other is just indifferent, most of the time.
If that qualifies him as better suited to being a billionaire then I guess you are right, but to me that seems like less desirable then what Zuck is doing.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cbs-news-analysis-the-voters-mamdani-added-to-the-democratic-coalition-in-new-york/
"it is time to stop coddling the super-rich", Warren Buffet 2011. A closer look at the CBS News Voter Poll suggests that 15% of Mamdani's voters didn't back Harris last year, either because they preferred Donald Trump (5%)
is backing H1B Visa people "right wing ideology" ? as far as i know the "right wingers" are split on that issue. What is "right wing ideology" exactly... other than a boogey-man.

Jimmy is now learning about the political compass and how there are two axes, not one. He’s eager to share this knowledge so that we can build upon his research and explore why people within a group seem to prioritize different things. Keep it up Jimmy. You’ll get there.

I don't really want to get into a serious debate about which child-murdering-with-a-shiteating-grin billionaire is actually the most evil. If we had a new set of Nuremberg Trials right now, Musk would be charged with a lot more than Zuckerberg would be, that's true.

I’d imagine you’ll find a lot of commonality between folks who were enthusiastic for Bernie Sanders in 2016 but went to Trump, and Trump voters last time round who went for Mamdani. Not that they’re a huge cohort but they do exist.
They’re probably the same people in many instances.

He is responsible for the culture that makes those choices. I just find it unlikely he made any such choice actively himself. Picking the number seems something you would have a work group do and implement. He might not even know about the work group deciding on how to follow regulations while maximizing profits in this area.
Which makes him responsible as the leader, not responsible as a person saying pick a high number while giving a villain laugh. In a culture with leadership responsibility actually mattering things like this would lead to him getting fired but in the US there is no such thing as inherent responsibility for the ruling class (the rich).

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-11-25/witkoff-advised-russia-on-how-to-pitch-ukraine-plan-to-trump
- US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff held a phone call with Yuri Ushakov, Putin's top foreign policy aide, to suggest working together on a peace plan for Ukraine.
- Witkoff advised Ushakov on how Putin could broach the issue with Trump, including setting up a call before Volodymyr Zelenskiy's White House visit and using the Gaza agreement as a way in.
- The conversation offers insight into Witkoff's tactics for negotiating with Russia and the genesis of the 28-point peace proposal that emerged earlier this month, which the US has pushed Ukraine to accept as the basis of a deal.
Ugh, nice poison pill. Is advising a foreign power how to talk to your own president to get what you want out of him treason?
I wonder who leaked the recording though. Rubio and Ratcliffe?
