James Comer, R-Ky., has been leading the probe into Joe Biden’s cognitive state during his presidency, with Republicans alleging that Biden's occasional use of an “autopen” to sign documents — a practice other presidents have done as well — demonstrated that he wasn’t fully in control or aware of what his administration was doing. But documents show that some of the letters and subpoena notices Comer has sent out in connection to his investigation have been signed using a digital signature — not written by the congressman himself." So it seems that James Comer is still on Trump's side of doing anything he can to distract from Trump's failures and connections with Epstein. I'm not particularly surprised; who can really blame Comer, since clearly his own use of a digital signature indicates that he's "not fully in control or aware" of what he's doing. Apparently, presidential interest in streamlining signatures dates back to as early as Thomas Jefferson, and more modern "autopen" usage is confirmed for Truman, Ford, Obama, Biden, and Donald Fucking Trump: "In March 2025, President Trump, while admitting that he sometimes uses an autopen,[24]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autopen#U.S._presidents The problem is not someone with a full deck physically using an autopen inasmuch as it's that if you have legal documents signed by autopen by a guy who was a near vegetable, it's necessary to investigate whether anyone around him surreptitiously usurped his authority or whether the uses of autopen came from him. People have been pretending to be president since the days of Woodrow Wilson.
Then by that logic, there is equal reason to investigate Trump, given his general lack of reading ability, miscomprehension of essentially everything, and general deterioration from old age. Unless Comer also investigates Trump's first term and current term alongside Biden's term, I don't see the metric "whether or not the president has a full deck, mentally" being applied equally and consistently.

Get Trump out of your head for one second. If someone arrests you on suspicion of murder, "But they didn't catch the Zodiac killer yet" is nothing.

So child rapist president Trump immediately firing numerous watchdogs the week he was inaugurated is justification for investigating whether he or one of his staff used his autopen to sign the order to cover up the Epstein list, yes?

Vance is rumored to be doing close to 100% of the reading that Trump is supposed to be doing. So it's probably him.

By the way, here's the Full List of Republicans Who Blocked Epstein Files Vote of the House Rules Committee. Reminder that the current position of the White House is that this list, which they previously claimed was on Bondi's desk ready for review, does not exist. So there's supposedly nothing to block from being released.
Virginia Foxx (NC 5th), Michelle Fischbach (MN 7th), Erin Houchin (IN 9th), Nick Langworthy (NY 23rd), Austin Scott (GA 8th), Morgan Griffith (VA 9th), Brian Jack (GA 3rd).
Ralph Norman was the only Republican to vote to release the list. All Democrats on the committee voted to release the list.

If a security flaw is found then the most immediate priority is to patch it, with reviewing whether it has previously been exploited being a secondary priority. You have discovered that a president may sign something without knowing what it is. Trump is infamous for doing this. Trump is current president. But for you the priority is not the gaping hole in the fence and whether things are still getting through that hole, it’s Biden. Despite him no longer being involved with the fence at all.
Doesn’t seem like you’re coming at this with good faith security concerns.

This is a shocking discovery, has anyone else caught on to this possibility?

You are allowed to use the autopen to sign something yourself that you are authorizing the signature of. Someone else is not allowed to do it without authorization in order to pull a fast one and be president for a minute.
I don't know what if any actual document you're talking about. To figure out if Trump knew he signed something, the extent of investigation needed is usually look at the video the White House posts every day recording him signing things and what they are. Alternatively, ask a question at a press conference and see if he says "Of course" or explodes and says he has no idea. If there's a good enough case, then concerned parties in Congress could get bipartisan support for subpoenas just like they did Trump's last term. I'm sure this investigation you're proposing will be the one that finally sinks him so go for it.

I'm just trying to figure out why child rapist Donald Trump publicly signing his executive orders and bills is good enough, but you're absolutely sure that something nefarious was going on in the Biden administration, despite him also publicly signing many bills and executive orders.

You mean like the subpoenas that the first Trump administration openly defied? Why would Republicans care about child rapist Donald Trump covering up corruption, such as the Epstein list, if they cooperated with him to end government transparency and Congressional oversight during both his first and second terms as president?

Sorry but autopen discussion reads as if I moved back in time about 15 months where people are debating whether Biden, or Trump suffer more from cognitive decline...
As for who is arguing in bad faith, surely people must have some at least vague understanding that signing something without care what it is, is somewhat different than somebody else using your signature (which is the situation oBlade refers to: " if you have legal documents signed by autopen by a guy who was a near vegetable, it's necessary to investigate whether anyone around him surreptitiously usurped his authority"). First one for whatever is worth is still legally binding, second is not.
Edit: some typo

So we're going to just bring up Biden's autopen any time Trump needs a distraction?
RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!

RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!
This are 2 separate issues, and at this moment only thing which will be able to distract people from Epstein files is probably full blown war. (scratch that, if left focus on autopen thing, or similar bs, then they may indeed refocus maga from Epstein on themselves)
Oh yeah, also that:
RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!

Edit: some typo I think it is very clear that Biden declined more than Trump, the interesting question would be who is more competent. Like even Biden at 25% of his max likely give Trump at his peak a good run for competency.

The difficult thing is that child rapist Donald Trump sounds like such an idiot every time he talks that nobody's sure if he's in cognitive decline, or if he was always that dumb.
|
With how spoiled he has been and led such a pampered life I think it would be hilarious to watch him try to basic things. Like a oil change (or maybe just going to the gas station, cooking a meal or putting together Ikea furniture. It would hilarious.

The issue is that 25% is generous by row of magnitude if not 2. We talking about dude whose uncle was eaten by cannibals and who randomly wandered off while speaking. It also doesnt even matter, US voted for Trump as he is, whether he is competent means f... all. And his mental capacity is as it was when he was voted in.

My men, you may wanna chill with child rapist thing, Democrats were sitting on the very same files for 4 years.
Edit: "nobody's sure if he's in cognitive decline, or if he was always that dumb." - you are way behind the curve, he was always that dumb and most of people knows that.

I know the time before 2025 was practically a lifetime ago, but in the good old days, the Department of Justice was considered apolitical, and it would've been considered wildly inappropriate for a sitting President to order them to release files amidst an ongoing investigation for partisan gain. But that was way back when things like the Constitution and legal precedent were considered important principles, and Pam Bondi didn't say the thing was sitting on her desk waiting to be released.
