I've been lurking this thread from the beginning and wow.. Vegetarian is owning this thread so hard now.

We can take solace in knowing that his fans use phrases like "owning this thread so hard now.".

More to the point, it is a derailment of the thread. Take it to PMs.

Yes he is. I think he won the internet.

you all realise that vegetarians arguments are as weak the ones he destroys?
Or is he like trolling with giving answers like a rep politician would give while making far fetched claims about the superiority of free market to any other model?

It would seem that he actually believes what he's saying. I doubt many republican politicians actually believe what they are saying. So that's one difference.
I'm interested to see if anyone actually cares to respond to his latest mashup between drivel and common economic theory. I'm not sure how he goes from "companies do useful things and compete with eachother", which noone is arguing against, to "free markets actually exist, government regulations are useless/harmful and people don't actually need to be informed to make decisions" which doesn't logically follow from the former. You know, Vegetarian, when you argue against commonly held beliefs it's up to you to bring the evidence against them.

Argumentation, reasoning, and logic would be fantastic... but unfortunately, they're not seen nearly as frequently in mathematics curricula as would be ideal.

Ironically, my wife just called and said someone does the "Cover Oregon" plans at her work which is $50/month for both of us instead of $70/2 weeks just for her through her current insurance from work. Luckily my state does do it separately with its own website etc. :D

The dumb part about having a central one is that it IS GOING TO GET DDOS'D. I mean major sites get taken offline from a handful of script kiddies with botnets. The traffic for the site must be overwhelming, as there are millions of people there looking for healthcare, millions there looking to see how they can make fun of it, thousands with auto-refresh seeing if they can fuck with it, and probably a couple hundred skilled people actually trying to make it crash. I don't even know what website or server launch I could even compare it to.

This is cute: Obamacare is the new slavery.
Neurosurgeon Ben Carson said Obamacare is the worst thing to happen to America "since slavery" while speaking at the 2013 Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C.
"You know Obamacare is really I think the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery," Carson said Friday. "And it is in a way, it is slavery in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care. It was about control."
Carson was recently hired by Fox News as a contributor. He served as the director of pediatric surgery at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center for 39 years.
Carson has made other shocking comments in the past, once calling white liberals "racist."
"[White liberals are] the most racist people there are," Carson said in April 2013. "You know, they put you in a little category, a little box -- you have to think this way. How could you dare come off the plantation?"

This is just getting more and more absurd. Next up: Barack becomes Hitler and his ACA is called "The Obamacaust".

Lol, all of you surprised by the bugs and glitches are really idealistic. The system was designed by a non-sillicon valley IT group and the website launched two weeks ago. Testing was supposed to be started and finished in 1 day - the day before Obamacare went live.
I don't know about you but for a document that's 2500 pages long, with serious server loads and only 1 day for testing, I'm certain that the people in charge are idiots. And not only that, but you know how Sony was hacked? Their systems were tested over a period of months and hackers still got in. Seriously, all that data and health insurance information is going to be leaked at some point in the next year. The glitches so far are nothing. Nothing compared to what's on the horizon.
