Theresa May's choice not to turn up to the debate has gone down well then. I don't have particularly high hopes for Labour winning the election, but what happened to the increased majority everyone was expecting? The tories MUST do better if they are going to run the country without becoming despised.

I dont believe so, judging on this comments: https://twitter.com/hashtag/BBCDebate?src=tren&data_id=tweet:869851533512462336 Sadly i still think Tory will win this election, but if election would be in a month rather than a week it would be different story.

Michael Ashcroft, a former Conservative Party donor who funds polling, uses the same types of modelling as YouGov but came up with a very different estimate of the election: May winning 396 seats and Corbyn winning 180 seats. Other projections suggested May would win soundly. The Electoral Calculus website, which predicts the results based on polls and electoral geography, said May would win 371 seats and Labour 205 seats. Betting markets give a more than 80-percent probability of May winning an overall majority, though they were wrong ahead of the unexpected Brexit result in the June 23 referendum last year. YouGov acknowledged that its predictions were controversial and allowed for a wide margin of error, adding that the samples in each constituency were small. Jim Messina, a polling and data adviser for the Conservative Party who worked on Barack Obama's campaign, said the YouGov numbers were stupid and that he had spent the day laughing at them. YouGov allowed for big variations in the outcome of the election, ranging from as high as 345 seats for the Conservatives, 15 more than their current number, to as low as 274, the pollster's chief executive, Stephan Shakespeare, said. uk.reuters.com So yeh that poll doesn't really say much at all. May is a coward though dodging debates. Can't believe that's still a thing in a first world country.

Hahaha, what a quote. I'm not a socialist by any means but I'm really rooting for Labour to score the upset victory here.

And this is first time when i see this sort of comments in "The Sun" Quite frankly it is most amusing - Conservatives seem to be doing everything in their power to loose votes bar putting in their manifesto that they are going to eat children. Although they do still have one week left.

Also, that has to be one of the trashiest sites I have visited in a while. This political "opinion piece" (aka advertisement) had a big clicky link for looking at some trashy reality tv "star"'s nipple slip. Even Breitbart has more class than that.

Show me a British newspaper that isn't the print equivalent of Voldemort's arsehole and I'll show you 6 articles on artisanal bread sticks huddled round an HSBC ad.

Question Time today in York was fine. Theresa May said absolutely nothing for 45 minutes and said the word Brexit about 1500 times, which is perfectly fine if they truly don't believe that there's a way for them to lose. Corbyn probably went down in the estimations of the people of York, who seem to be disproportionately keen to drop nuclear bombs on people compared to any other audience I have ever seen, but when talking about society and values came out fairly well, because he's pretty honest and I think Labour are allowing him to play up to that. He gives detailed answers using words that mean stuff, in contrast to the conservatives. There's still no way that Labour can win though, the polls are surely wrong (the BBC seem to think the most pro Corbyn ones are badly weighted.)

The most important factor here is the rise of the SNP in Scotland. 2010 election results Scotland: Lab 41 LD 11 SNP 6 Con 1 2015 election results Scotland: SNP 51 LD 1 Con 1 Lab 1 What is possible, though unlikely, is a reduced Tory majority or a Hung parliament. In the latter case another election is possible if no governing coalition can be formed. A situation that I would love to see personally, the more this country is forced to talk about what's happening to us politically the better. In other news "Liar Liar Ge2017: Theresa May protest song reaches top 5 in the Official Singles Chart" http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/liar-liar-ge2017-theresa-may-protest-song-captain-ska-official-singles-chart-position-a7769721.html The message is sound, it's just a shame that the song and video are so limp creatively. Then again that's true of the entire British music scene.

It's important to know that if you vote for Labour you're voting for the SNP, too. Corbyn would have absolutely no qualms about working with Sturgeon if it meant he could govern. We might even get a deputy PM who hates 90% of the country. Although in that scenario we would also have a Home Secretary who hates 95% of the population. It bothers me that so many people buy into blatant propaganda, especially when it sounds like it's been written by a coddled first year student hired by The Party. Your last comment is way off the mark. You're looking in the wrong places if you think the British music scene is limp.

Your last comment is way off the mark. You're looking in the wrong places if you think the British music scene is limp. Most dynamic part of the UK music scene is garage and grime type stuff right now, British guitar music has been absolute wank for years at this point. And I'm not sure Tory fearnongering over the SNP will be as effective this time - if people view the Tories as worse than Labour + the SNP it's irrelevant. Who knows though.
