do you guys think it's pretty racist that a model like sang woo kim is so widely accepted in Europe, while his features are caricatures of what I imagine europeans perceive Asian beauty as? Specifically his eyes?

Are you literally asking if it's racist for an Asian person to look Asian and be a model...?

I don't think that kind of jawline is what Europeans would call an Asian feature though.
Why are there so many female models appearing in every menswear show?

No, it's not.
well it's not racist for sangwoo to be a model but sangwoo himself is pretty racist and harbors a lot of self hatred so fuck him lmao
plus he looks like a fucking neanderthal so idk why people like that so much

hedi's being doing that for awhile so idk but rousteing said that for balmain's newest show he basically put female models in a menswear show because "it fit the theme" aka he just did whatever the fuck he wanted

If it was me it would be because there are always women who want to buy shit at those. So a guy sees his shit then the girl picks something from the show to match.
@ Aerisky now that it is summer, you could pretty much wear those shoes with any pants as long as you cuff the pants a couple of times, like highwater status, and either wear no socks or even crazy-design socks. edit: careful though
Who was it in this thread that bought the bomber jacket from MKI a while ago? If you see this do you have any thoughts on the brand, fit, etc. Thinking of copping the black overcoat thats on grailed right now.

Probably as racist as your comment. Maybe you imagine wrong :/.
dont think his comment was racist racism is defined as a set of features belonging to a specific ethnicity that one believes makes said ethnicity inherently inferior or superior to others, so it's more of a stereotype and not racism
also i wasn't aware that euros/westerners found small eyes to be attractive
anyone here into techwear? i've been interested in trying some stuff but i'm worried it's too hot for my climate. everything is described as "thin, lightweight but warm", which isn't great. no chance i can return in case i buy so i'd rather not regret it.
What I mean is that westerners often have vastly different standards of beauty for asians, I guess somewhat understandably. But those standards often evoke some outdated, maybe imperialist impression of what asians are supposed to look like, mainly "exotic." I understand models arent always picked for traditional beauty as much as for striking and unique features. Still, I personally can't stand looking at him, same with the chinese model lu yan. Ofc I also dislike asian celebrities with beautiful but boring features like angelababy. This is from a purely aesthetic perspective, not considering their plastic surgeries, etc.
well ofc there's always cases where you'll never fathom how these models got their stints but that's a matter of personal taste. for example, personally it's the popularity of models like daphne groeneveld and xiao wen ju that get me, but other people may find something interesting about them that I don't and really it's just a matter of perspective.
I do see where you're coming from, however. a lot of the asian models on these catwalks are distinctly eastern looking, which contrasts with many top asian conventional models that are successful due to their western looking features.
on the other hand, I don't think it's racist, I just think it's one of those things were you seek something that's different. is it gimmicky? yea, but I wouldn't stress too much about it - there's really nothing in it to overthink or overevaluate.

contrast is weird clean mono palette throughout the top and bottom, but loud at the feet
i actually prefer it with very distressed jeans, maybe a worn indigo along with a sloppy look top block
