My thoughts are: Winter Night wedding so dark suit (navy, charcoal, dark grey) or tux (navy or black) are most appropriate. He kind of sprung it on me a few weeks ago that I am a groomsman. He told me he's wearing a charcoal suit and a black tie (and told me to wear a black tie as well). I was thinking to nab a budget tuxedo like this one. It would be extremely poor form to out-dress him, right? So if he's wearing a suit (not a tuxedo) I should not go with the tux. If that's the case I'm thinking a navy suit, french cuff white shirt, and a black tie (per his request). I did some poking around on yoox but they can take a while to ship and the Italian sizing can be a bit inconsistent so I don't think I'll be going that route (even though I can probably get a higher quality tux/suit than the one I linked.
Definitely suit, but I would want to fit the other groomsman so I would try to figure out what they are thinking.

I don't like french cuffs very much either, but I think they're wedding appropriate. Either way I will get a new shirt.
I'd like to stay under $1,000 dollars total (I have shoes already) for suit/alterations/new shirt.
edit: just talked to him again. No vest and after some consideration I'll skip the french cuffs. Not my style and he's not wearing them either. Just over thought the whole thing. Going navy two piece suit with black shoes/tie. Ez
Also - what is with flap pocket, two button tuxedos? What? Why would someone even make this?

So I think made a huge mistake in buying a pair of cole haan lunargrand saddle oxfords. they look like this (bad pic but it's the exact same color scheme/model or whatever)
![[image loading]](http://dropsneakers.info/photos/cole-haan-lunargrand-saddle-mens-oxford-ivory-mesh.jpg)
because I have no idea how to pair this shit/whether I can pull it off at all. what color pants/shirt can I go with potentially? I can take+post pics of the shoes later if anyone is interested but yeah how might I go about finding pants and clothing in general that I could wear with this colorway without looking super dumb?

Can you return them? Would be much easier than trying to find stuff to match.

Just get a golf hat and wear a pink/violet cashmere over a blue or white collared shirt with light brown pants.

I do like the shoes though ;_;
Are they just not for fashion casuals? Are chinos okay?

I'm going to a wedding as well - church at 16:00, dinner and dance at 18:00 during the summer. The issue I have is concerning the weave of my jacket. I can either go navy or light grey - the grey is smooth (worsted) whilst the navy is more coarse (hopsack'ish). Now, I've heard a rumour that hopsack is not appropriate for weddings - anyone able to confirm/deny this?

Hopsack is technically less formal. If the ceremony is at 16:00 and it's coming up soon (summer) grey is more appropriate anyway.

That was my feeling as well. The issue is I know that the groom is going to be in darker colours for the evening but I have no option to change between ceremony and dinner. Oh well, they'll have to live with the light grey then. Thanks for the input

Yeah I do like their look in general, just not sure how to wear em. Anyway I'll try stuff out and see what works haha.

you have to wear tops and bottoms that are just as outlandish, without looking ridiculous. think southern stuff:
seerksucker, pastels, bright shorts, etc. nothing super dark. even light wash jeans might be ok. its pmuch summer.
alternatively, be confident as fuck and just wear it with jeans/ocbd
