In the US you can't get healthy processed food. This is even a problem in Europe. Those that produce the foods know very well that if they add less, people won't buy it because it won't taste as good. Second, children don't have a choice. They are children. The decision is made for them. Right now their fate is to be fat and unhealthy. Third, we are talking about schools for children only. So think again because you launch into full force straw man. How the hell can you say that with a straight face? All processed food? Out of all the food in the states? edit: bolded more nonsense.

No more Pasturized eggs/milk! No more Beer! No more pizza!' No. That is not what the US needs to do. People have the choice to eat non-processed foods, if they feel like paying the premium for them. Seeing as the entire world eats processed foods i'm not sure banning them in one country would matter much anyway. Millions of poor children eating reduced or free school lunches really don't have a choice. Not only that, but inadequate nutrition during children literally impedes brain development. Basically the story here is that Congress read the book The Time Machine and thought, "Hmm this is a good ideal! Fuck the poor, they should be grateful we suffer them to live!"

The kids who pick pizza are the football players who need the high calorie content in their food. I don't know where all these fat kids were because I graduated last year from high school and we maybe had 1 fat kid per 300 students. Trust me when I say that NOT every school offers an option for a small sub on wheat bread with fresh toppings . . . .

And I've been in schools multiple states around the country. Elementary and middle school kids have VERY little choice on what they can choose on lunches in most schools. I'm sure there are even worse schools around the nation than the ones I've been to.
