I'm in Australia and I can't seem to find any bottles of Seagram's Seven Crown on sale.
Anyone able to help me out?
On the instance that I won't be able to find it here, what can I use as an alternative in a 7 and 7?

I still searching for a more smokey tasting whisky but have no idea where or what to look for. Any hints on that? I love that the adberg is very characteristic and its taste shifts twice in my mouth wich make it to my absolute favorite, also that its not too smooth makes me happy every time i take a nip of it.

It's bloody incredible! I can only recommend this! Both the smell and taste is the best that I have tried among the Irish kinds! I was told that it was the highest rated Irish whisky in 2010 in Jim Murray's whisky bible and I can understand that! Must buy ![]() My dad got a scotch one that is amazing too, but I forgot the name! I'll get back to you guys when I have it !

also tried the following recently: wild turkey 101 - tastes like a spicier evan williams. not bad for its price. will have to try rare breed some time (saw it recommended in this thread somewhere). not too different from george dickel no 12. kilbeggan irish whiskey - im a huge irish whiskey fan, and this was pretty tasty. not as fruity as the white bush, and a tad more "forward" in its flavors. i prefer this and white bush over jamesons. jameson 12 year just tastes different, not sure how to compare.... teacher's blended scotch - saw this recommended here as a great value blended scotch ($20 at my local store). drank a bit at a friend's party, but didnt have any other blended scotches to compare this too at the time. will have to try this next time with jw black and red, and some other blends. macallan 12 - this was interesting. i tried this at a bar just for kicks, and also ordered a shot of their rail whiskey to compare against (and i knew i would enjoy the mac 12 even more hahaha). drank the rail, then sipped the macallan 12. it was a good experience. obviously smoother, and less "alcoholly" than the rail. not much else to say since i didnt have any other whiskies there to compare it to. final thoughts - making progress! as a budget-strapped recent grad who likes the taste of whiskey, i've made it my goal to really develop my taste with all of my budget options. so far, i really like bushmills and kilbeggan. i think it's not strange that a neophyte whiskey drinker would prefer the lighter, fruitier whiskies more than the scotches. next steps - buy another bottle of JW green before the price skyrockets. try black bush, bushmills 10yr, redbreast, tullamore dew. also try some stuff from other places - yamazaki 12, chivas, and maybe another single malt.

tonight, tried tullamore dew for the first time alongside 3 other irish whiskies, a bourbon, and a blended scotch, just to appreciate the differences and enjoy the slight variations of the irish theme.

![]() Its a blend but its unchillfiltered and really malty: it can stand toe to toe with JW black anyday, for $10 less. Recommended for poor folk like me. Oh yeah plus it can take a shitton of water. You can take it down to like 25-30% before it starts to drown. Crazy for a blend.

I always have a bottle of The Lady in stock at home. Recent bottlings have been a little rough around the edges though. The bottlings from a few years ago and back were all excellent quality. PS: JW black isn't a blend that relies on quality to sale, it relies on advertisement and brand recognition. Comparing something to JW is like comparing a new soft drink to Coke Classic.

Tried the Glengoyne and though I like islay whiskies over highland overall, this one has some really nice complexity to it.

Simply the best bourbon in that price range I have tried! Going to pick up another bottle tomorrow to celebrate finals being over ^.^ ![]() really like it to. I picked it up as an "easy drinker" in case im not in the mood for single malt. but im still drinking it room temperature without ice or water ![]()

Which one should I buy? I'm looking for something that doesn't have a glue-ish taste, something more mellow. These are the ones I can get: - Glenfiddich Single Malt 12yr - Glenfarclas Single Malt 10yr - Speyburn Sinlge Malt 10yr - Makers Mark Bourbon

Ahh dont be snobby. Its a common benchmark because its something everyone has tried.

Ardbeg is one of my favorites too. While there are a number of good smokey whiskeys from the island of Islay, none of them is like Ardbeg - it's got an industrial flavor to it, which makes most people think it reeks, but I really like it. I just received a bottle of Port Charlotte (The Peat Project) from Bruichladdich. It's very smokey, doesn't have that Ardbeg ring, it's a lot more plain smokey and more smooth, but it's still very nice. But if anyone has any suggestions on similar whiskeys, thanks! Has anyone tried the Bruichladdich Octomore series? It's supposed to be really strong too...

If you like to try something different but that is still a strong Islay malt, I recommend the Bowmore 100 proof. It's cask strength (58 abv), and very complex, you obviously have the peat, but also some salty notes, some leather, some dried fruits. I'm pretty it's a duty free stores exclusivity, so you'll have to travel to get one.
