I'm trying to find tracks/artists which have a downtempo feel but with a bpm closer to straight DnB (I might be describing atmospheric or intelligent DnB), any suggestions?
Jesus your missing some even better ones with her singing:

Jesus your missing some even better ones with her singing:
Long time psy-trance dj here, used to hit up a lot of dnb events back when I was a party kid. I've dabbled in spinning the genre informally as well (something different at jam sessions, etc); recently I've decided to start taking it a bit more seriously.
This thread has loads of good stuff and I got a lot out of it. So I figured I'd better hand some back
(note: I know *I* don't bother clicking things when I don't know what they are so I've included a few subjective thoughts in spoilers under the videos. I don't feel qualified to classify them by subgenre though.)
I'm not sure how "uplifting/minimal" is not a contradiction, but apparently it's not. Paul B somehow creates the vast and rolling momentum of dnb while maintaining a sunny-sunday-morning energy level.
Classic track; a stand-alone in my collection for some 5+ years, and a track I already knew from the dance floor when I got it. I tried to find a youtube link for Spirit's "axis" for you guys too, but I wasn't able to.
Plan 9 feat. Jotj - You [Ben Sage rmx] vocal, melodic
Don't let the description mislead you: what you're going to fixate on with this one is the heavy, driving bassline that flexes and grinds through the whole track. Really nice sounds going on in the low end. Ben Sage seems to produce a range of different styles really well. The guy who posted the Breakage track should enjoy this one.
Yes, that sample is kinda sappy and repetititve. That sort of thing usually makes me rage. The rest of the track makes me love it anyway, If I'd had this on dubplate instead of mp3, I'd have burned through several by now.
Cybernetika - Close Your Eyes psybreaks; psy/dnb fusion
My reasons for loving this should be obvious. Big rolling bass and relentless snares for a two-step pulse, twisting and "futuristic" layered synths for that special psy tirelessness, wide dynamic range and reverbing filters for a sonic stage you feel small inside. Psybreaks has a tendancy to seem less a genre and more an idea that people can't get to work; in my opinion, Cybernetika is so exempt from that, I can't help thinking it must embarrass a lot of talented people.
The album this is from, 'Colossus', is probably what I'd give as the best starcraft-playing tunes out there.
It is also, incidentally, free to download. If you're either into psy or want more Cybernetika, I recommend exploring ektoplazm(the link) more fully.
Good day everyone. Just saw this thread and thought I'd stop by. I'm actually a Liquid DnB fan but I like to listen to other variations as well as some are really awesome.
Here are some of my favorite tunes at the moment:
Not liquid to be honest but it has a really nice vibe. And an amazing video!
Sadly not around anymore. Definitely one of my all time favorites. So happy and catchy.
Last but not least, a track from a young and talented artist. I really like the feeling and the atmosphere on that one.
Hope there is something interesting for you among those three here.

Yeah Hospitality record posted the After life video on facebook, I loved it so much! I bought the album, I only liked some of the songs but some of it had some kind of brostep feel to it. Which was a major turn off lol.
That's the first time I've heard of Zyblot, I absolutely love this track! Thank yo for sharing ^_^
I have been a hardcore Netsky fan for years. Liquid dnb is awesome but lately I have been starting to love some of the old school 2005-2007 kind of straightforward drum and bass, enjoy:
First one is by Subsenix, so Subsonik + Ben Sage, and the second one is Russian, how awesome is that. I came to find that russian dnb is pretty sweet!
i wonder how you guys keep "up2date" regarding new tracks? for dubstep i found udubstep.com which advertises free tracks and remixes and a (at least for me ) pretty reliable rating system. i just check it every couple of days and listen to the newest tracks, but sadly i haven't found anything similar for DNB? i'm mostly into liquid dnb (so a lot of hospitality records' artists), but for a general overview, here is my playlist on youtube with a handful of tracks i randomly added to it (also contains dubstep tracks and some other stuff). so you just subscribe to UKFDrumandBass and Liquicity and hope for the best or do you have similar sites for dnb like udubstep?
