I guess it's safe to say that a large majority of Germans (minus the 4% who still say they'ld vote for FDP) thinks that the world and especially the USA itself would greatly benefit if Obama had the national support inside the US to realise his political aims

4% right...

Let's add to this big pile of delusional bs and claim that only even 10% of these people who openly admit to be Obama supporters in Germany even know a single policy he's standing for.

Stay small, continue reading Bild, bro.

Btw, this post doesn't support either site (Republicans or Democrats) but simply expresses my disgust for the kind of political debate (heh) people are having in this country.

I'm not an expert in chinese, but I translated most of that video to say "Sarah Palin has hot cleavage" and "Obama is such a god-awful president that Americans would even vote for Sarah Palin just to get rid of him in a mud wrestling match." Now keep in mind that is not a literal translation, as the syntax needed to be adjusted for engrish.

Its OK, its less than 10% of american republicans (even democrats) that know any policy of Obama. I've heard people claim he is communist, and socialist, and other such nonsense. I know a large number of people who think he wasn't born in Hawaii, and some who think he is the antichrist (lol)

Here in Brazil our system is so different to yours that its very hard to even understand.

We do believe most of your politicians are corrupt just like ours and that they exploit third world countries thro warmongering and one sided diplomatical deals to ever increase their power.

throught the bush era, we have come to believe most american politicians will behave like hillbilly cowboys. and your current international policy doesnt lead otherwise

Bild, yeah certainly -.-
Obama definitly is popular in Germany, dunno how it's in your milieu but in western Germany he actually is... You're right that not a high percentage could name his political agenda though. And with that disgust about political debate in America although still most of the foul attempts like fake organisations, hateful debates etc. come from the Republicans and not the Democrats. Even though there still are alot of democrats who also have this incredibly hysterical style.

Well, I'ld lie if I said that most Germans knew what specific aims different political parties have, but this kind of hysteric theorycrafting is absolutely foreign to us.
Another thing which seems so weird to many Germans is that the desire of many voters to have a weak state and that they don't want to have a social security. Here the mindset rather is: Everyone has the same conditions so nobody complains. Ok, there are issues - people having national health insurance beeing partially disadvantaged to people having private health insurance for example - but the idea of general public insurances isn't really disputed. There are even protests on tuition fees here (while there are still parts of Germany where university is free).
When they were introduced, he made a witticism, hoping to be liked. She laughed extremely hard, hoping to be liked. Then each drove home alone, staring straight ahead, with the very same twist to their faces.

No WoW-Memes on this site! *slap*

welcome to the real progaming <3

Edit: Also, I'm pretty sure that while most german "Obama supporters" don't exactly know his policies, most will know that he got out of Irak and started talks with Iran. When compared to his predecessor that's like the second coming of Christ.

In the eyes of europeans, 99% of the americans who vote for the republican party actually vote against their own interests. The remaining 1% are very rich egoist people.

I think that summarizes well the opinion of most of the poeple I know.

Also, you guys should get rid of religion's influence in politics.

Keep in mind that our country was founded on the principles of limited government and general "freedom" of the people. We've obviously come a long way from that but the ideal is still held by many Americans. We've already had one civil war fought over it, and honestly I think it's only a matter of time before we have another.

UnitedStates politics is scary for me. Unfortunetly our own politics starts to resemble it, imagine my horror. Back on the topic:

It was mentioned before, i will say it again, Your democrats are realy realy far right if compared to European polticians. And most of your Republicans would fit right in some delagalized European parties (for extermism and such). But that just one side of the spectrum (the social one, like in that quiz). While on the economical spectrum i might (and not only I) agree with reps on some points, it would be very hard to find someone in EU who would agree on most points. We live in a whole differnt societies, US and EU. Of course we have a lot in common, there are also many differencies.

And i have to disagree with anyone claiming that religion has no place in European politics. Sadly thats not the case, while it might be true for Sweden for example, it the other way around in Poland (and its similiar in Italy and in Spain i belive). We might not like it but catholic clergy has a lot to say in those countries. Abortion, gay marriages and such are a huge deal here in Poland. Even in Europe You can find a lot moral conservatives.

My view on american politics.. YOU SUCK! (You = american politics)

1. You try to be the hero nation of the world. (America fuck yeah!)
2. The enormous amount of greed that filters your system makes me sick to the bones. Money fixes everything mentality.
3. You can't help your own people.
4. Your president has to believe in the Christian god (or never be elected), which makes you as good as Israel or Palestine.
5. You hate tax, but expect the system to deliver anyway. (This is more to the everyday people, not "liquipedians" )

Anybody who is not upper class or rich and who vote for a right wing or ultra liberal party is voting against his interest, I'm afraid.

When you see that Sarkozy has been elected by workers and poor people, and that all of his action has been designed to make life (and profits) of an elite of millionaire easier, you start to understand what is wrong with our modern conception of liberal democracy.

This is the part that most disgust me.

I think it can be applied not only for USA but a lot more countries, if not all countries.

Picture a country where Christianity is the religion of the majority of the population, if you are not Christian and believe in other God or dont believe in this bullshit at all, the other party will exploit it and cast on the christian population all the fear they can of having a president that isnt a believer. You will lose a lot of votes just based on your religion. Thats just plain ridiculous.

US politics seems to be well pretty much the most retarded thing ever. I am Swedish and a socialist and even our most conservative parties would be seen as socialistic parties in the US. The opposition to anything social makes me mad. Like social health care is the best thing ever. We may have 40% taxes here in Sweden but at least we take care of the people I don't give a shit if my money goes to helping a non educated druggy they are still human and deserve a decent life.

It's so egotistical to think something else. The apathy in the US makes me sad to be honest instead of helping the people in the country you live in you fight wars you have nothing to do with. In Sweden we pretty much have no such thing as an army it's budget has been cut the last 20 years like crazy. I love Sweden I might be a bit biased since I live here but it's a truly caring country. The biggest disgrace in our politics is that we've got a political party that opposes immigration which I think is shit since multiculturalism is just great and the people who come over are usually very hard working at least the majority so yeah. That's all I can complain about.

if i can make another point about the US system is that the voting system feels really awkward to me. Who has ever come up with a voting system by state that just goes on majority: if there is a vote in the state for the equivalent of the parliament the winning party gets a 100% of chairs. THAT MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. if there is 70-30 that means 100% of chairs go to the majority party. that is bad imo, that way minorities are not represented well. this means that someone can win the national election in a 2 party system while a minority of people in the country voted for him :S
For the rest the huge influence of christian religion in the political system is foreign to us.

another thing of american politics that really annoys me is the constant pushing by the conservatives to lower taxes or keep them same while there is a huge lack of social arrangements for people without a job and healthcare etcetera.,

EDIT:

Pretty much this, could not have said it better.

EDIT 2: another thing that is very bad to me is the fact that you need to be rich to be able to become president in the US, i really think that is a very bad thing.

I happen to be a right-wing extremist because I studied economics for four years and I still follow it somewhat. I don't think Democrats understand how basic incentives work in the marketplace. Or most Europeans, for that matter.

Except the Dutch and the Swedes actually have much less regulation than we do in many areas. I admire them for that. They have higher taxes, but there is more to being "free market" than just low taxes. This video talks about the increasing capitalism in Sweden.

I do like Europe's reaction to their debt crisis - fiscal "austerity". In macroeconomics, Europe is far, far to the right of America.

That's funny because all our best economist say that the austerity is killing every single possibility of an improvement of our groth in the next years.

You can be a right wing extremist if you want, you won't make me buy that your arguments are not purely ideological. There are very serious left wing economists, who understand also better than any of us how the economy works.

I like American politics, i think they're great. Hate how in europe you can pretty much only vote for socialists, it's ridiculous.

I always find it funny how Europeans think that american politics is made up of extremists and crazy people. I know many Europeans politicians that are just nutjobs or just plain stupid.

There is a reason America is the only superpower, they have great politicians. Probably the best in the world. In Europe it doesnt matter what you vote for, all you get is the same old politics, 60% taxes and all they never really do anything, they just argue about small things. And whenever there is an issue they all act like idiots, arguing instead of doing something. America does have its share of problems though, but they are nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be.

Lucky for me i dont live in Europe anymore :D
