The thing about DX was that it was so great that IW, which otherwise would be a good game, is hated by the fans =D
If you can't be bothered playing the original, you can watch the ever-hilarious Kikoskia play his way through:

did any of you guys play the Deus Ex Multiplayer?
|
wow, after watching that trailer I am more hyped for Deus Ex 3 than I am for SC2. I played through Deus Ex 1 about six times years ago when it first came out. My friend and I played Multiplayer over LAN a few times but we had poor internet and didn't know anyone else that liked the game that much.

DXMP was my first multiplayer experience over the internet. Probably like a maximum of 100 people playing at any one time during peak hours, community was very small but it was very fun. There were tons of bugs too.

However this game is not going to be anything like it. Ive been following the production since it was first announced and by the looks, the game is simply using the dues ex name and the dues ex universe to make a generic modern day shooter. The game itself will be very different from the style used in the original deus ex.
A few things that will be different
The game will be entirely in 3rd person mode The game will have one of those 3rd person cover systems Health regenerates after not beng shot for x amount of seconds
Now it may be good, but I believe this to be very unlikely.
Who said the game will be entirely in 3rd person? From the Deus Ex forums the FAQ says it is FPS with some moments of 3rd person
"Deus Ex: HR is FIRST person, but switches to third person for some contextual elements, after which it quickly returns to first person"
Unless there is some new update... can you please inform me of your source.

Sweet. That's exactly how it was the first game.

I never played DX back in the day, by the time I got to try it out it was far to dated for me to enjoy it.
I did play Invisible War when it came out, and while it wasn't groundbreaking or anything, I really enjoyed it thoroughly for what it was...which was a neat FPS with cool RPG skill aspects.
I would be very happy even if they just updated IW...was fun

DX1 is probably my favourite game of all time. They ruined invisible war and it looks like they're going to ruin DX3. Just look at the trailer. Where is any of that quality of DX1? I'll give it a chance when it comes out, but from here, it looks like it's going to be a case of style over substance, which the original certainly wasn't.

the original was dy-no-mite but dx2 was a big let down. hope #3 draws more from the original!

Caught myself thinking about this today.
DOES ANYONE ELSE WANT THAT JACKET?? Holy smokes it is awesome.

Deus Ex is the best singleplayer game ever. And the best 100 hours of playing a PC game for me is also Deus Ex. This one actually looks like it is worth waiting for.

I was thinking more of the shades.... I find it pretty funny how he has the sunglasses rim implant instead of just occular implants that produce a darkening effect.

- The dialogue system now uses emotion selections rather than choosing the actual dialogue.

This is even worse than auto heal...
[x] TP / FP [x] Auto heal [x] No more dialogue [x] no lean [x] no shadows -> line of sight only [x] cover system
+ Damage localisation probably gone.
Thank you consoles.

As a note, the trailer says this is in 2027, about 23 years before the original Deus Ex. I don't remember the story well enough to know if the main character could be related to JC Denton in some way. "Adam" doesn't ring any bells... I read on trusty wiki that Square Enix is only responsible for the cut scenes, I can't help but think that's probably a good thing for this series.
Ok Ive never played that game but I dont think ive ever gotten so much chills from a video game trailer before.
Goddamn.

Judging by his name alone, I think Adam may be the human genetic source from which JC and Paul are spliced from.
|
Also even if the trailer has some great parts ( mostly the music and the environment design ) i can't stand all those slow motion sequences and cool killing moves crap that we see in every new trailer. So cliché, childish and inappropriate.

I really like how this game looks to be shaping up. Like Ghost in the Shell and Metal Gear Solid 4 got together and made babies. (Read: Epic)

deus ex 3 will be the best anime of all time
