oh yeah they are pretty bad. There aren't too many loading screens, but it takes literally a minute or more for them.

anyone else notice the terran scan noise at the start of the game, and the barracks lifting noise when the helicopter lifts off?

That's a pretty big exaggeration, unless you've got an awful PC. It takes like 20-30 seconds on the consoles, which is about the same as my top of the line PC, with everything set at max - although I'm not sure the in-game graphical settings should affect the loading time at all, since its more about how quickly your HDD can pump stuff into memory.

Yeah, a lot of game companies use the same collection of sound effects a lot. I still hear various scream sound-effects (heard one in DXHR last night, too) that I heard to excess in the starting level of Unreal. Don't hear the 'Wilhelm scream' much, or at all, though. I guess that one's reserved for TV/movies.
Edit: Actually, you do hear the Howie scream (was actually in Unreal). It was the Wilhelm scream I was thinking of.

Same for me, but that's what the steam web browser is for.

Physical copy just came in! It's installing now. Packaging is really sexy as packaging goes, the physical artbook is about the size of a normal gamebox, isn't particularly thick but from flipping through it there's some cool stuff. I guess the biggest part is the bonus DVD which ofc I haven't checked out yet, hella excited.

This game is amazing. That is all.
Load times aren't horrible for me (PC). A little annoying, but not horrible.

Finished it!
Game length spoiler: + Show Spoiler +Took me slightly above 18 hours according to the save game, but took me 21 hours realtime because of reloads, insane load times, an extraordinary amount of CTDs, and unskippable intrologos. Fuck that shit is annoying.
Think I did every side mission because I wasted a ton of time exploring and talked to pretty much everyone I could find with a name other than civilian and hacked into everything (I hate that minigame so much). Still got through the game much faster than any reviewer claims regarding game length. I did play the leak though so I knew my way around all of Detroit. Played a very efficient stealthy assassin type with max hacking so pretty much always took the fastest approach to getting through the separate mission areas. Avoiding enemies that aren't in the way, and shooting enemies that are, in the head with a silenced pistol, instead of wasting time regenerating energy for takedowns or getting pinned down. It's pretty funny actually how quickly you can empty a room with enemies by simply shooting one of them from some decent cover and getting the others to investigate the body so you can shoot them too from the same spot. Very ammo efficient as well. I was planning to abandon stealth originally since it's kind of easy, but the load times, bad mouse controls and deus ex difficult quickly made me reconsider.
I wouldn't say it comes even close to being as good as the original, but it's pretty good for a console style 'shooter with dialogue' (TM). It's definitely not an RPG at all sadly, but it beats the neverending shit out of similar games like Mass Effect 2 at least.

i turned vsync and ssao off and my loading times went from 30s or more to less then 15s. game looks worse but those loading times were killing my enjoyment of the game. hopefully a patch can fix this problem. other then that i think the game is pretty awesome.
i had been playing stealthy for the first few missions (probably fired a gun less then 10 times) but i think im gonna start blasting dudes from now on. i actually like the combat more then stealthing.
question though (gonna spoiler it, but its not much of a spoiler):
+ Show Spoiler +pritcherd told me about a lady named jenny that had a quest for me after i left the police station but i cant remember where to go? anyone help me out? thanks

I'm in HengSha now. I am pretty impressed with all the details they put into this hub. Far more impressive than Detroit. This game is turning out better than what I expected...
I'm taking it nice and slow milking all the EXP as much as possible. Trying to finish the level with Ghost and Smooth Operator and then going back and doing takedowns for max EXP and items.

Just bought the game for 79 AUD, hope its worth the money as games here are so expensive><

Can't get passed creating local game files...thanks steam. Haven't had this problem since some other game years ago.

+ Show Spoiler +Jenny Alexander? Shes with the 'working girls' in the street between the Police department and your character's apartment (cinus building or something') I believe the street is called Grand road or something. There are 2 groups of them in that section. Just pull your cursor over the girls untill you see a name, rather than an occupation.

+ Show Spoiler +Stay away from her and shoot her whenever possible. I used a sniper rifle with laser pointer, didnt take too long to kill her. if she charges you, rush around a corner to avoid her explosive attack.

Sooo, I've been paying a little more attention since I played the leaked version and
+ Show Spoiler +I think I know who patient X is... the dude who doesn't need medicine for augs . I'm in the back alley of the police station reading Meghan's report where she says she "betrayed someone for the sake of science." This coupled with her having something to say to you in the elevator before shit went down seems like a dead giveaway for me. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

By the way, what % would you say I'm up to if I'm up to her?
+ Show Spoiler +not exactly helpful but when I got to her, she immediately bugged out and got stuck in a wall. headshots are easy when they dont move :D
first boss was another story, died at least 30 times to his stupid homing grenades and grab punch
