I also decided I'd lvl up Mizou this game and it's turning out to be a really good investment. I can see her as a damn good Kinshi Knight with her stat bonuses, and she's going to let me get aptitude on a kid (not sure which yet). The only issue I might run into is that I let Camilla die on the last turn of Chpt. 10 (to having 5/6 sub 50% hits in one turn). Pairing Selena/Silas, Mizou/Niles, Elise/Odin, and Nyx/Jakob. Not sure who Corrin is going to get right now.

In case anyone else goes through the horror of chapter 10 Revelation. It's too late for me but perhaps this will save someone a lot of grief.

Was just wondering if that was a realistic aim. Good to see it is. I just finished birthright hard and didn't have money to buy a single stat booster. I did buy 2 eternal seals though. I could have sold every single rank S and A weapon since they were garbage anyway but I guess I didn't need it.

And as I say that, I get a run where I miss 2 90% chances to kill, then have a miraculous dodge on a 78 and 88 to kill one of my units and a crit back to create a scenario where I don't even have to worry about the 50/50...this game is ridiculous.

Or rather, what map were you on at the time of writing that post?

Also, I would have reset Ch. 10 if Camilla died under pretty much any circumstances, even if it was the final turn of the map.

I don't know about you but to me it seems there is a very clear distinction between who is necessary to keep alive through that chapter (cam, effie, niles, azura) and who is pure cannon fodder (nyx etc). The argument can be made that half of your people are cannon fodder depending on your strat (I usually don't give much thought to odin nyx beruka selena silas).

Effie honestly doesn't belong in that first category, especially since she and Silas are largely equivalent in many ways as the game progresses (strong str and physical bulk, coinflip-y Speed growth that gives you like a 50% chance of them making it or falling short for lategame). In fact, Silas, Selena, and Effie are all on a similar power level of "not essential, but have a decent niche and can semi-reliably be used lategame with investment" (I'd also put Kaze, Keaton, and possibly Leo in this category).

Most of those units listed tend to be highly valuable pair-up units even if they don't make it onto your main team as combat units (e.g. Nyx is one of the best magic unit pair-ups, Beruka gives a perfect stat spread for naturally fast units that need Str and bulk like Kaze and Niles) and I would still be pretty against losing any of them for the sake of clearing Ch. 10. Effie honestly doesn't belong in that first category, especially since she and Silas are largely equivalent in many ways as the game progresses (strong str and physical bulk, coinflip-y Speed growth that gives you like a 50% chance of them making it or falling short for lategame). In my experience Effie is pretty crucial for chapter 17. That alone makes me respect her. Although I agree she could absolutely use the speed. Beruka is one of my primary pair upd but I don't fret that much if she falls.I don't know if I ever use magic in conquest...I have lost a lot of respect for Leo. Maybe if I ever used Odin/Ophelia I would make Nyx a priority pair up. Silas is weird. He really is hard to judge on each run.

Effie's a growth unit that pays off if her growths end up on her good side, but she's not necessarily more consistent than the other growth units by a significant stretch. She has better combat than Silas when she pans out, but the tradeoff that you have to do a lot more work to make her useful before she gets there because she's a 4 mov unit until promotion while Silas is mounted immediately. Nyx's pair up boosts aren't necessarily used for Leo since Felicia gives largely similar bonuses for a lot less work (she starts promoted so you don't need to invest in her to get promo pair up bonuses). Leo's not the only unit that can use a boost to Mag from pair up though--she can be used to help out a +Mag MU or even if Camilla needs a Mag boost in a pinch.

Nyx is pretty expendable if we're trying to choose a unit to kill off. As mentioned Felicia is way easier, and it's pretty rare for magic units to need even more damage, and if you used Odin, Ophelia gets you an extra sorcerer if you really need pair up bonuses. Maybe Benny is a little bit better to kill off, but Benny might be better at being a walking nuke for the most part and the +def pair ups are more useful throughout the game than Nyx (you have more options for physical pair ups, but I'd probably rather be stuck with Benny in a draft run than Nyx). Of the characters I wouldn't want to die, Azura, Elise, Camila and Xander are clearly a cut better than the other units. Than I would say Niles and first servant (especially if Felicia. Jakob is good, but it's much easier to replace him while 15 strategist aura takes forever to get back). I'm probably a little too biased for the auras, but it's an effect that is pretty much irreplaceable while you can fill most other gaps in your team pretty easily. Everyone else about the same, except I hate Nyx and Benny. Charlotte's the last character I haven't seriously used yet.
