They definitely lack the power of a mammoths and hydras. As for Legend of TW's strategy, I watched him use that build ( here at about 1:13:00) (less phoenix guards, more spearmen) and it failed against a heavily armored dark elf army pretty much as I would expect it to. HE archers just don't have sufficient killing power to build an army around. The spearmen stacks did fine in terms of holding the line, but he had nothing that was going to kill the Dark Elf army, which is why is his army ultimately got ground into dust. Also, NDA has been lifted on Mortal Empires content. Lots of new stuff is being released today.
If I'm not mistaken, he tried that same strategy before with WE and it worked because they have 3 different kinds of glade guards. And even the vanilla glade guards are really good. HE doesn't have that variety.

Yeah, but you're talking about his budget stack with spearmen here. I don't think DE cav strat would work against 8-10 phoenix guard...

Might have been asked before, but what do the martial/revered/aristocratic name-of-power-skills of lords do?

Does hovering over them hint at what it might be?

Just checked it out. I'm currently fighting Kroq as Queek and I must say that the lizards in Southlands adopt a completely different strategy. They run around with 14+ units of saurus warriors and I have literally nothing to stop them.
Through trial and error I've figured out that the best course of action is to drop regular infantry completely and stick to gutter runners (pricey!) which seem to destroy those blasted lizards.

It hints that it gives boni to certain areas, but doesn't specify. Martial f.e. "improves the lord's own combat skill", but it doesn't specify in which way. Klicking them doesn't show any change in the rider either.
Also is there any way to uncorrupt corrupted populace?

ME previews are starting to come out from early access people. Damn, stomping elves with Warriors of Chaos looks really promising (MilkAndCookiesTW started with WoC and first thing he did was sail for Ulthuan right off the bat to start his campaign there).
Oh, the possibilities!
|
Yeah, I'm kinda embarrassed at how badly I want the ME map. Sigmar's will must be done.
Speaking of which, I took a gander at Age of Sigmar to see what all the fuss was about. And holy shit, strictly from a lore perspective, I can see why people would be mad. "Sigmarines," lol.
|
Yes the lore blows, but from the basic outlet it sounds like they actually tried to make the game more customer friendly. Reusability instead of the entire version nonsense, Rules and stats online, crossfactions and skirmish-size battles, it's completely atypical for GW. Suddenly you can get a random number and configuration of figures, build and paint them and just play.
Also let's be honest, I'm a sucker for warhammer and 40k, but seriously there was already so much BS within the old lore.

Well, they went from cannons, steam tanks, handgunners and cavalry to ground marines (as opposed to space marines).
I'll just leave it here...

I think after you choose the direction of name of power, you get another decision on the name. And there it tells you what it does.
No idea if Dark Elves have a building that does untainted, as i played Cult. But thats what counters corruption + untaint
|
I am very excited to play skaven and not have to fight cavalry spamming High Elves or skirmisher spamming lizard men. Give me some orks and dwarfs.

No idea if Dark Elves have a building that does untainted, as i played Cult. But thats what counters corruption + untaint Thanks, kinda blows that they don't have this linked somehow. This decision only affects the lord/ is not factionwide?
I'm using an edict, a technology and i think the main building to get to a +4 untainted in the chaos-lands, but I thought that whoever builds/upgrades the city decides the populace alignment, since my skaven-towns all got decorrupted (0 corruption from local populace). I'm fairly sure though that I reduced the chaos tribe area to 0% corruption with characters, the local populace alignment didnt change though. So I guess the Skaven cities were by nature DE cities and building cities in the chaos area just sucks for Malekith?
|
Never played Malekith so no idea for him really. Cult of Pleasures best defense is chaos corruption hehe.
One option affects the Lord, the other the Lords army and the last one affects faction. And they are pretty powerful, so would suggest getting that name.
My hybrid lord got some nice missile damage buff for her army heh.

Morathi also has the unique building in one settlement that provides up to -90% public order from corruption in all settlements, so if it's just the public order malus, you can capture/confederate that.

Grombrindal DLC showed up on the list of installed DLCs for me in TWWH2 today. What does it mean?!

I actually somehow overlooked that. Thanks a lot!
Also Morathi is on the top of my kill list. Mum's gotta die for the greater good. Unless, is there a decently efficient way to confederate her?

Patch notes for Mortal Empires are up. Balance changes for the TWW2 factions are discussed, but none of the changes for TWW1 factions are. It looks like all of the major bugs (particularly unit AI in battles) are going to be fixed. And for the Dark Elf fans out there, CA finally wised up and got rid of the additional upkeep penalty for fielding black arks.

An informative look through what the notes mean....
https://www.reddit.com/r/totalwar/comments/78ox90/the_mortal_empires_update_what_it_actually_means/
Some highlights:
-Units on Guard Mode will no longer decide, "Fuck it, I guess we're dead" and give up if the foe they are fighting begins to Rampage. -Potential trading partners will no longer refuse a treaty on the basis of, "How will we even get our goods to you with all this WATER in the way?!" -The owner of Sartosa should no longer be raided by Pirates of Sartosa who set sail from Sartosa, get drunk, come back to Sartosa and steal some shit, sail off again, get even more drunk, then come home with their plunder and spend it at the same shops they just robbed a couple days ago. -Fixed exploit where you could yell, "MARCO!" and hidden Skaven armies you weren't supposed to see would respond, "POLO!"
