well being that the original comment was about team communication breaking down and the team being unreasonable I think it is perfectly fine to mute people. you can still call stuff out with voice_enable 0 afaik. I would kick you for having unreasonable expectations in mm, noob.

I think being able to communicate with your teammates, to make callouts they hear and receive callouts they make, is perfectly reasonable.

The solution to a breakdown in communication isn't to add to it by muting everyone. It's trying to be a calming voice, and finding a mutual goal in winning to work towards.

Also, MM is for shitties and warming up for ESEA, noob.

Hey guys! I'm having trouble with my cursor in cs:go. Basically i can't flick my mouse, or even turn rapidly without it either having some sort of negative acceleration, or if i move it really fast it just twitches up or down and slightly right or left.

I have a Razer DeathAdder 3.5g, and I have seen people having this problem before. Even when I move the mouse moderately fast I experience some sort of negative acceleration. I have been scouring the internet for the last two days and have tried cleaning the sensor, downloading razer synapse, uninstalling synapse, using the legacy drivers, and using no drivers at all. I have changed the dpi all over the place from 400-3500, I have gone through every (I hope) acceleration setting in windows 10 (EPP off, 6/11, even into the ease of access in the control panel and turned acceleration off and max pointer speed. As well as changing a shit load of launch options in cs go. And have tried playing with raw input on and off.

The only semi fix I have found was increasing the polling rate from 500 to 1000Hz. But that really only made it so i can make moderately fast movements, and even on those I still have this negative acceleration. I'm beginning to think that it's a bad sensor? Or have I changed so many things in my Cs;go console that I have somehow fucked my mouses ability to move quickly.

I have a QcK mouse pad and razer synapse doesn't support calibration on the deathadder 3.5g. I have tried changing the usb in the back from the usual 3.0 to a 2.0.

Should I just warranty the mouse at razer and say that it's sensor is bad? Would that help?

Is this thread worthy, so more people see it?

Do you have issues outside of CSGO? If yes test the mouse at a different PC as well as test a different mouse at your PC.

Do you have mouse acceleration activated somewhere?

I think I might, I set my dpi fairly low just now and flicked my mouse to a spot on the screen, and then slowly brought it back to the original position and it was off every time. Which seems crazy to me because I have downloaded Mark C registry files, so maybe i did something wrong there. I have tried my old crappy mouse and had the same problems as my death adder, I haven't tried a different pc.

Also, just stumbled upon this. Do you think there is any truth to this?

I have extensive experience in this regard and I will let you know that CSGO's engine is terrible in terms of mouse response compared to Source 2006 (episode 1 engine). If you run CSS modern version, and compare to v49 from 2009, it's night and day. But there are some things that I will let you know that will improve CSGO's mouse response 75%. There is no getting it as good as EP1, but these settings will fix it as much as possible.

You need to go into your BIOS and disable HPET/High Precision Event Timer/ACPI HPET. This will provide the most obvious mouse response improvement.

If you are running windows 7, disable Aero and use classic theme or basic theme. If you are in windows 8 or 10, I wrote an EXE that will disable Aero for you automatically when you run CSGO. It makes a huge difference as 8/10 force desktop composition no matter what your vsync settings are at.

Then, run TimerResolution.exe (i don't have the link off hand but if needed I will send you it). Set it to 0.5 ms (maximum). This will force your cpu to wake up quicker, providing faster mouse samples.

Then, disable Multicore Rendering in CSGO (or use the console command mat_queue_mode 0). Multicore rendering in CSGO, while increasing fps, provides a noticably laggier mouse response because of frame queuing. You don't want this in a competitive game where split second response matters.

Finally, disable raw mouse input in CSGO. Yes, I know you want to get rid of acceleration, but since you have already run Mark C's mouse fix, raw mouse input takes up extra CPU cycles and is pointless. I've seen the source code to valve's in_mouse.cpp and I will tell you right now, raw mouse input off will serve you better.

I have no idea. Maybe csgo is fucked up in some way. I would try to reinstall it.

Ok simple question, although probably not the best place to ask.

I was looking through the fan clubs as I heard about them from reading Liquipedia ages ago and went through them. Are we allowed to make some CS fanclubs for it? I might make one when the time comes that I have time to post consistently

How does JW move like he does? Is he using a jump script or just good at timing, bhopping etc? It is insane to watch sometimes when he really gets into the flow.

A jump script wouldn't be allowed.
But it's a lot easier to bunnyhop on 128 tick.

Really? Interesting. Bah, I wish there was 128 tick on Valve servers.

Just do some Faceit pugs, honestly it can't be worse than going matchmaking, and that's 128 ticks. I like doing these when I can't find something better to do, because that's better servers, a level that's quite as random as MM anyway. Think of it as MM with 128. Oh and there's overtime (I find it frustrating to just end on a 15-15 scoreline...).

One problem with faceit is that you do not have final say over the location of your server. (IN NA, for example, you have chicago, dallas, and denver- 3 totally different pings and regions)...
Cevo allows you to choose the server location (also free 128tic), and ESEA allows you to set your max ping for your search (also has best anti-cheat, but costs money)

Ah, bummer. In EU you have the choice between Sweden, France, Germany, the UK or the NL. And honestly all are playable if you're in any of these countries and in the neighboring ones. Might be a different story if you live in EU East and pretty far from these.

Hi. Never really played CS or CSGO before. Could anyone explain the gist of the game? Only thing I know is that it's a 5v5 fps. Some questions...

1. Difference between terrorist and CT?

2. How does economy play in competitive matches.

3. Why do people move with their knives and swinging it?

4. What's the bomb for?

5. What's the strategic aspect of flash grenades and Molotov's.

6. In dota, there are roles like support, offlaner, mid and carry. What roles are there in csgo?

7. What's the format for tournament matches? Teams veto and choose maps?

8. Are all knives the same? I see some with a dagger, some with switchblade, some with karambit.

1. Difference between terrorist and CT?
Terrorists are attackers, CTs are defenders, teams in a match will play both sides, 15 rounds each side, first to 16 wins.

2. How does economy play in competitive matches.
Money carries over after each round, winning gets you more money, more money gets you better guns. Losing gives you less money, less money buys you less/weaker guns.

3. Why do people move with their knives and swinging it?
"You run faster with a knife. Everyone runs faster with a knife" :D. Movement speed is based on your currently equipped weapon. Knife is the lightest, so you run the fastest.

People swing it cause when you're running, there's nothing else to do until you reach your destination so they play around with the knife.

4. What's the bomb for?
Bomb is the objective of the game. Terrorists attack one of two areas, to try and blow it up with the bomb. CT's try to defend those areas, or retake the area to stop/defuse the bomb from being planted/exploding.

5. What's the strategic aspect of flash grenades and Molotov's.
It's harder to shoot people when blind, so flash grenades act to blind opponents so you can shoot people who are blind and can't shoot back.

You die walking into fires, so molotovs block off certain areas, or can flush campers hiding in an area with fire. It's for position control.

6. In dota, there are roles like support, offlaner, mid and carry. What roles are there in csgo?
Sort of, not really. People tend to group them as "Sniper, Entry Fragger, In Game Leader, Rifler/Supports"
Sniper: self explanatory, tries to get the AWP as much as possible, but also has to be a capable Rifler.
Entry Fragger: usually first to go in for Terrorists, they go in gung-ho and kind of act as bait for his teammates following to flush out positions of defenders, and ideally kill them.
In Game Leader: self explanatory, the point guard, calls the shots, watches the minimap, gathers info from his teammates and decides on a plan of action based on immediate situation.
Rifler/Supports: All 5 players on the team technically need to be able to do this as well. They throw the grenades in to take control of the areas of the map and stuff.

7. What's the format for tournament matches? Teams veto and choose maps?
Typically there's group stages, which vary depending on tournaments, and can be bo1 or bo3 or GSL style. Map vetoes in the end also vary on tournament, but similar to the pick/ban phase in dota I think. ie: team 1 vetoes a map, team 2 picks a map, team 2 vetoes a map, team 1 picks a map. remaining map in pool becomes the last map to be played. something like that.

8. Are all knives the same? I see some with a dagger, some with switchblade, some with karambit.
They're the courier skins of dota. Expensive and purely cosmetic.

Thanks! So CT can win by either 1) killing all the T, 2) defusing the bomb, and 3) timer runs out? Whereas T wins by either 1) killing all the CT or 2) bombing area A or B.

So does the economy style somewhat support snowballing? A team with better guns is likely to win more, and hence continue to have better guns? What are some strategy teams do? Do they deliberately play with pistols first or something?

Yeah.

So does the economy style somewhat support snowballing? A team with better guns is likely to win more, and hence continue to have better guns? What are some strategy teams do? Do they deliberately play with pistols first or something?
Sort of, but there are ways around it. The team with better guns aren't invincible, so if they're killed, they will have to rebuy their weapons/equipment, keeping their economy low.

There will be rounds where a team without the money to buy guns, to deliberately not buy anything, so they save that money for the round after, and use two rounds worth of money to buy decent weapons/equipment. Casters will say they're on a save round, or a partial buy.

There's also a round loss bonus, the more consecutive rounds you lose, the more money you receive. Losing 1 round only gives you $1400, losing 2 rounds gives you $1900, and so on, until it caps out at $3400 I think. Terrorists also get a bomb plant bonus (if they plant, but the bomb gets defused) of +$800 to every team member.

Cool! Thanks!
