I'm glad this isn't a traditional FPS which is about merely putting the cross-hair over opponents and firing. Having so many classes and abilities will definitely increase depth, and make it more strategic as opposed to being twitch.

It's a good things given that CS:GO as a huge esport, arguably bigger than SC2 (which is also being dwarfed by Hearthstone according to the Twitch viewers right now). Look at lol/hots for example. Given blizzards last 10 years' titles I bet this is not going to have a high skill ceiling.

But what they're doing with Overwatch does increase the contribution of strategy to winning the game and reduces the contribution of twitch skills. And that's a good thing.

Also he talked about depth, not mechanical skill.

This can't be more casual, which in itself is not a bad thing, just saying.

It should use the CS:GO model (SC2 should too). $15 for the game, plus selling a million different cosmetic microtransactions.

Yeah i know right, a short ranged aoe dmg spell is literally casual. I am sure you won't find any of that in the hardcore games you play !

If Blizz goes the LoL monetize route they will make infinite more money by letting it be free.

not that $15 games deter that very well either. $50+ games have issues with player-base building. I'm interested to see how blizzard opt to deal with this issue.

It's a fps game, you are supposed to aim at stuff. I have never seen something like this in any fps game ever, for obvious reasons.
