Raid finder loot 6 months into the expansion will have twice as many stats as the baseline gear for level 100 (which the highest level zone and all world content aside from tanaan is balanced around)
doubling stats creates a lot more than doubled effective power because of the way they scale together too
woo
On that subject, how good/bad is druid DPS in CM's? He's playing boomkin and i have talked to him about DPS some but i have not researched how good the spec is. He does good raid DPS and i don't think it's a huge skill issue (i switched from 2h frost to hunter and my damage instantly increased by a huge amount with the same person behind the keyboard) but if boomkins can do much better than that, maybe he's making a mistake with ability/cooldown usage. If not, maybe feral is better by a big enough margin to justify learning/playing? For numbers, me and the other hunter were consistently (across 2 days of CM's) ~1.5x higher on damage done and some boss fights (him BM, me MM) - the recount in that pic is set to overall data
Boomkin's bis is resto for CMs, they can do gold like every spec but they need to design the group for it and can't do any sort of competitive timings.

Scaling is weak to moderately difficult when you ding and then it just gets easier from there with the only improvements being toggling onto new raid difficulties - but that leaves everything else behind as when you're geared, nothing is remotely challenging aside from the last 3 bosses of BRF HC and mythic content, which is only a tiny fraction of the game content
it's easier now than ever to get gear, yet the scaling also seems worse than ever when you do have it

i wish more people here would post their interface ^_^
@cyro, druid dps seems low but would need logs to see what he is doing wrong. besides that hunter is the easiest class to play, most people switching to it do okay.
My interface is awful because i never really worked on it, i did minimal stuff to make it raid-worthy and i'l have to take a few sessions before 6.2 hits to add some important stuff like a focus bar, fix up hotkeys on traps etc. I was thinking of running a modifier +123456 for the second half of the main action bar for spells like traps, but that might be awkward
Thanks :D maybe with 6 abilities in the middle of the screen.. since i have like 6 buttons that need watching for DPS anyway. Having those + focus bar in the middle of the screen to stop eyes jumping back and forth everywhere instead of looking at character would be awesome.
Is there any addon that displays trinket/ring/cd cooldowns and shows bars for them or is that just something that you can do in weakauras? I think elvui does part of that but they bundle everything into 1 addon
extracd is the addon for trinkets which is super easy to setup, u can do it with weak auras too, currently doing it myself this way but before that i used extracd
this is my "old" ui in action and the screen is with different weak aura setup and other textures etc
http://i.imgur.com/pxOyORl.jpg I have like a dozen addons :/ I have mainbar on always hide because i realized im a notorious bar watcher despite knowing all the hotkeys. For some reason i just had to look at the icon of the spell im about to cast. So im trying to shift my gaze towards the middle.
Here is during mop, where dots were a thing on shadow and you had to reapply them according to trinket procs. http://i.imgur.com/8nPiDw5.jpg

My eyes dance between the focus bar (top left) and abilities on main action bar (bottom) mainly because of the cooldown timers and to predict what i should cast 1-3 steps in advance. Much better to get rid of that behavior though
The scaling on your buff displays and main action bars is a bit high IMO. I wouldn't like to disable them entirely and i need vision correction to see font size 10-12 easily but even mine are a bit bigger than necessary and yours are taking up a huge portion of the screen

I spent quite a bit of time making my UI when I returned to the game. I hid all action bars and made myself all of the cooldown icons and procs I need with weakauras. Makes for a clean screen. All the cooldowns and procs appear around my character when it's relevant info (spell on cd, proc active) and then vanish. Couple bigger most used cds have a sound effect when they come off cd as well, to notice better in a middle of a boss fight where I'm trying to frantically save people from the fire.
First image is without targeting anything or having cast anything, the 2nd shows target frames and a couple of those cooldowns. I use Grid as my raid frame/grp frame. I guess I could hide it when I'm not in grp/raid. On my mage I have mana bar/% number right below my character on screen and on my hunter it's focus. On my warrior rage. Moves my eyes to focus always in the center.
My shadow UI on dummies, what is missing is the boss frames (and focus frame if I have one). Also a Shadow Word: Death weakaura will appear opposite to the Cascade one if the target is below 20%.

what addons do u use for multi dotting bosses
None specifically. I see the dots on each target via the hp bar on the right.

SPtimers(RIP forte) and tidyplates, those two addons cover everything.
WOD gold CM's hype!! :D i've heard those two are the hardest
having 20 seconds left on a 25 minute timer is crazy
Experience has shown, however, that if a full tier of gear doesn’t increase player stats by at least 10-15%, upgrades feel unrewarding. The compounding nature of that growth does mean that numbers will get unwieldy over time. We don’t see the need for another stat squish in the very near future, but we’ll likely end up doing one again eventually.
pre-raid 5-man gear (WOD "hc", so not difficult) = 630
heroic raid gear = 685
with set bonus included, it accounts for doubling damage, not a 10-15% increase. Not sure where they get their math from.
Stat squish soon will be needed
Unless they mean 1 tier as in.. Raid finder is one, normal is the next, heroic next, mythic next? In which case Highmaul and BRF (t17) is 5 tiers of gear
So patch is next week, kinda weird they didn't do their usual 2 weeks notice, but then again certain MMO is getting their new exp out and Blizzard never releases stuff when other MMOs launch, like ever, totally not rushed out guys. Class balance patches inc ala start of ToT anyone?
