I just finished the highmaul part, now i need another 5-8 ids for the brf runes.
I reached 600/900 on the fifth reset, will probably make it in 7 overall. 5 is extreeeeeeeeeemely optimistic but 6 might be doable.
10 weeks after 6.2 will be ~8-9 months into the expansion. If it lasts less than 18 months i'l be pleasantly surprised - blizzard took ~24 for every single expansion previous and they're been giving us the "faster expansion cycle" stuff since pre-WOTLK.

I'm pretty sure Blizzard said at one point they're making it more friendly for alts the later in the expansion we will get. You get +50% to the drops at the moment if you have completed it on one char. On that note I really can't be arsed doing Highmaul on my warlock (4th alt) for stones.
In other news Blackhand Mythic 50k wipe trauma is gone as we got a solid kill on it today. Bit sad my p1 dps was one of the worst in all the tries, screwing me over on the e-peen meter.

Oh right, I assume they will speed that up a bit. The ring is a forced mandatory BIS. I never got to finish my legendary cloak in MoP (mainly because I was unsubbed), got stuck on the get 4k valor points part. I think you are able to complete it still if you are in the step after that one.

They will bleed subs like crazy if it lasts more than 18 monhs and there is no new tier coming out after hellfire. Probably even harder than at the end of mop. Even with tokens, there's no reason to keep being subbed if there isnt anything coming out and just standing around in your garrison gets lonely.

The +50% doesn't apply to the highmaul step. I have not seen that catchup on BRF runes yet - but my DK took ~5-6 weeks on highmaul and then my hunter with catchup still took 5 weeks
For a new char coming up, it looks like once you get to level 100 and get to that step of the quest, you have about a 12-13 week (solid 3 months) lag time to catch up to the Citadel steps, and you'll spend the vast majority of that time outgearing the content that you have to do to get those drops
@Warri it's very hard to know what to expect if they're doing it differently to every other expansion. I expect no expansion before summer '16 but we could easily have some emerald dragonshrine crap before then 
they had an awful start to this expansion and that's pretty scary. You need pretty good content in the third quarter of the expansion too - that's the point where the hype/fun is over but the new stuff is too far away to be excited about

My alt has 2 resets on BRF part of the ring and has got 318 runes or there abouts. So I'm expecting 6 weeks, 5 if I get lucky with missions maybe.
And when I'm building a new alt's garrison, I focus 100% on first getting lumber mill and trading post active as soon as possible. If you want to max out fast, you need the resources and that's the fastest way of getting them + hunting all the draenor outdoor treasures.

The shipyard has missions which yield stones and runes. It's 10+ stones and 23+ runes, so depending on how frequently those missions are seen they could be fairly significant in terms of accelerating progression.

cool but 10 stones is 8% of the highmaul step and 23 runes is ~2.56% of the brf step :D

Right, but there are actually four missions for each resource. This indicates that you can probably get multiple of them a week, if not also multiple times a week.
If you can do all of them once a week you're looking at 45 Stones and 110 Runes, which is 36% of the Highmaul step and 12.2% of the BRF step. I wouldn't be surprised if the mission occurrence rate was higher than that.

There are four mission table missions for runes, yet i only get them like 1 - 1.5x a week ish

There are also multiple missions for highmaul and brf caches and you only get them bi-weekly. They are there to force you to upgrade more followers.
UI question: In the standard blizzard raid frames you can split tanks from the group and have them displayed seperately. However im using shadowed unit frames and i cant find that option there. Does Z-perl or grid have that? Or is there any other addon that i could ideally combine with shadowed unit frames to display tank hp bars seperately from the raid groups? And also, without the standard raid frame, how do i put marker on the ground instead of on targets?

Actually bartender had a default function for that so i edited my post but you caught it before that, but the other questions still stand :p

Shadowed unitframes can definately display tanks separate. Go into the enabled units, you should have raid already enabled and there should be an option for under Raid Misc for Main tank that gives you all people marked MT as separate frame.
Grid also has an option to display groups as 25 with tanks so I assume that does the same.

Just realized that you can use older gear for timewalking in 'full' (scaled down) effect. Time to bust out the old stuff and enchant my dragonwrath.

Classes: There are some concerns with how Demonology plays right now. You need addons to play it well because of how complex it was. It also was the best all around spec, so warlocks that wanted to play other specs had to go Demonology. Demonology will be significantly overhauled in a future patch. It is still viable, but won't be the best anymore. It is Demonology's turn to be the worst warlock spec.

All WoW specs have been "brain dead". All you ever had to do was Google the most efficient rotation and just copy it. Any kind of challenge in WoW comes from beyond just hitting the buttons.
