WoD: Alternative universe? Okay I'm basing all of these on:
How is this time travel going to work with the story? We aren't going back in time, the Dark Portal is turning red, bad guys are coming through. We look at the Orc Clans as they were, but things are happening now. The end of this expansion will launch the next one. - BLIZZARD
So I'm working under the assumption that Draenor not affecting the present means that it is in an alternative universe, that is exactly identical to the universe just before the orcs got corrupted by Kiljaeden and the legion. Which you've guessed it all the major villains are still alive in this universe. Illidan is locked in a cell, there's an alternative version of Sargeras and the rest of the burning legion, Lady Vashj is still alive, Kael'thas is studying in dalaran, Jaina isn't insane and xenophobic yet.
What do you guys think about this?

I was wondering how the whole time traveling but without time traveling thing would work, and as you said thezanuric, an alternate universe seems most plausible to make that storyline true. I'd imagine that it only has to do with Draenor though, all that other stuff with lady vash/kael/jania etc. won't come into play because they weren't on draenor at the time.

I think since the end of this expansion will launch the next one I can only picture that being in a cinematic.
For example, we kill the final boss of the expansion and the cinematic hits. Near the end of the cinematic we go look off into the distance and we see signs of the Legion. Or something dark and twisted that rises from beneath the oceans of Azeroth.
One can dream.

Amm That's not my quoted. The highlighted question is a quote from Blizzard.
I was asking about the alternative universe + the 2nd legion and all other the potentionally cool or retarded shit if done slightly wrong

Don't really need that in my Warcraft universe. I can only assume that the lore must be a total mess by now. Just adding stuff for the purpose of adding stuff. I don't know, I have read 10.000+ pages of Malazan books, so I don't mind complex and long-winded story telling. But I don't think this is the Warcraft lore I cherished anymore. Warcraft's had time travel since whenever the bronze dragons were introduced, which was at least 2004. That said, it's multiverse hopping more than it is actual time travel. + Show Spoiler +
Yeah, already not a big fan of the bronze dragons. And to me it just feels that this now is on another level. I.e, I didn't mind doing Caverns of Time, which basically was a bunch of dungeons. But basing a whole expansion on an alternative universe. What can I say, it just feels wrong to me.

I know its a quote from Blizzard.
I'm responding for that specific quote for I had less to type in the answer I gave.

Did they announce a release date? 2014 is all they said. Safe bets are either April(1.5 years after MoP, the timetable they wanted), or November(the 23rd is WoW's 10th anniversary).

Well Warlock is easily the most badass and menacing class in the game.
I don't get the two other skills for level 100. THey just don't seem very good, at least when compared to massive demons.
About the time travelling, I can live with a theory of that every change made in the past creates a new timeline, parallel universe, without messing with the current timeline I guess. Only thing that really annoys me is that I didn't feel Blizz gave the question any attention. No actual answers on the time travel thing, just dodging hard.

I guess they have pulled me in again. well done blizzard

I got my internet connection too late to really get into WoW. For years I've wanted to play it but now there is just so much content that I will feel intimidated when I start out, so rather not.

Apparently you will be able to boost one character to 90 instantly, therefore you will be able to skip all existing content and go straight to Draenor.

It's pretty smart to let people have a level 90 toon, but I honestly think that a newcomer should start at the bottom and work the way up to experience the lore and the landscape. It's great for those of us that already have levelled multiple chars to 80/85/90.

Well I admit that the expansion has peaked my interest again if nothing else.
If possible could someone send me a scroll of resurrection? Salviswin@gmail.com @ NA.
