Warlords is actually looking pretty good, is the TL guild something that could still happen after the WoD release? All my friends quit a while ago, would be cool to have some people to play with. Would be pretty infrequent, mostly just hanging out and doing random shit.

Also, Blizzard actually made a potentially revenue source basically free, did not see that coming, Pretty nice move on their part.

The community on this forum is just to diverse. You cant make a guild work when every other person has different aspirations.

There have been 4-5 TL guilds and all of them have fallen apart after 2-3 months, tops. TLers aren't generally a reliable group (I'm speaking from experience running TL subcommunities for various games over the years) which causes issues with raiding. There are also vastly different skill levels, which doesn't translate well to raiding, either.

I thought having a guild was about getting to know people, rather than raiding?
Sure raiding is a big part of it on competitive level, but there's also PvP, and WoW isn't exactly the best game to be competitive in in the first place?

You can raid current content without being competitive about it, while still being decently serious about it, being really hardcore, or being super casual about it. It comes down to the individual guild.

The problem with past TL guilds is that players have always come from all ranges of the spectrum, without never being enough to define the direction of the guild.

It depends. You can find really good guilds to have fun with still. You just need to learn to stay with your guild, along with the few people you meet in game that happen to actually be nice as well as good players.

Also, "nowadays" is just...incorrect. It's been like that since WotlK in my experience, especially after the introduction of the LFG tool.

I guess I'm a bit partial. I was in a guild during late WotLK and Cataclysm which had two RL friend groups as the core, so we stuck together for a long time, even though some had alts/mains in actual raiding guilds, shifting schedules and stuff.

Finally took down Garrosh HC after almost 300 tries :D I know it's after the nerf, but we only raid 2 days and had to adjust for quite a few line-up changes.

After getting 2200 in WotLK and 1950 in Cata (threes), I spent MoP just not doing as well or having hardcore PvPers.

Anyone on here in a moderate to hardcore PvP guild? My two old teammates will be joining me, playing either ShamSG or Neverlose Comp.

Really been enjoying leveling my Hunter lately. It's amusing looking at the specializations, because while MM and BM get spec specific abilities as they level up SV gets Explosive Shot at 10... and then nothing until 43, and that's a passive you won't use much until you get Black Arrow at 50.

But it's really fun running around 1 shotting mobs with crit Aimed Shots. Looking forward to Lone Wolf.

I plan to keep the US tl guild on cenarius going for WoD. It will serve the role of a 'fun guild' rather than a 'raiding guild' but will probably be a good place for people to play if they aren't serious about raiding. If they are, they should join a raiding guild. However, if you join the TL guild, you can still raid with other groups/guilds if you want nowadays anyway.

That's a good plan micronesia! Also, if TL guilds die, it's probably better that TL members advertise for their own guilds, so people with different interests can go to the guilds that fit them the most. That way you can still play with TL members, but also don't feel pushed to play more than you want, or not able to find people for HC raiding. The best would be a really big TL guild that covered all kinds of players though, but we probably won't see that, at least on EU.

It's really nothing new. That's how Blizzard as a company has operated for nearly a decade now; lie to customers, talk down to them, and the biggest thing that still pisses me off is how they cover up all of their mistakes. To this day they still deny hacks/dupes in WoW, and in most cases will ban you from the forums if you question them about it. It's quite sickening.

If recent years have shown us anything it's that Blizzard outright encourages that kind of behavior from their team members. One great example of this is Jay Wilson, and how he was promoted to a lead position on Titan for having a public meltdown over Diablo III. Tseric was another great example from back in the day, where he would literally go around belittling customers on the forums.
