I can confirm the whole "weighted for veterans" was a marketing thing and isn't actually true. I had my suspicions when one of my accounts got access a few months ago so I asked one of the guys on the Battle.Net team and they said it was completely random.
It makes sense, though. Unlike pretty much every other MMO company in existence Blizzard has never respected their veteran players, so why start now? Just have to accept that the guy who's been playing ten hours a day for 10 years straight and the guy that has never even played before are both valued the same to Blizzard.

I would like to be a hardcore raider but have been out of the game for too long and haven't found the class that I enjoy the most yet

I can only recommend playing enhancer in raids when you play DPS, its so much fun!

I don't like how your scale of experience is based on raiding. Why not how long you've been with the game or how high rated you've achieved in PvP if that is your focus in the game. There's more than 1 way to gain experience in this game.

Because I made the polls to gather information on how many people here raid. Your PvP experience, how amazing you are at Pokemon, or what awards you won for LARPing aren't really relevant.
Likewise, a 1-10 scale is... well, a 1-10 scale. Just because I included some guidelines for the numbers doesn't mean you're excluded from it. Rank 1/HWL would be a 10, feeder in WSG would be a 1, etc.

Oh well then ok I guess. You just wanted TL's raiding experience. Just seems weird you would nominate PvP as a play style and then when you ask for experience, you completely disregard it and only talk about raiding.

But I was 3x duelist with a shitty comp, top 10 UU in 2 suspect tests during DPPt, and kind of LARPed once!

Got into the beta 2 days ago. Just finished installing. Not sure if I should play it or make my first playthrough a fresh one. I like the feeling of awe at everything when you pull an all nighter on release night.
I could use the beta to try playing all the DPS classes so I can figure out which class will be my secondary one (Prot warrior 5eva).

Apparently Blizzard gave me a free copy of Cata + three months of game time on one of my old, unused accounts. Something about a marketing promotion.

Going to play for one month I guess just to see the continent and play again with old friends. Could easily get into a mythic raid but since I stopped raiding I find my evenings to be a much happier time.
Might stay subbed after getting to 100 if I find 1-2 friends to casually (feeding level) pvp with.
