I think it's all of us getting older to be honest.
graphically this honestly reminds me of ps2 games like ratchet and clank more than any other mmo or anything that aside i'll keep following this game and hope for a beta key. if i can get a month or so of decent fun out of the game then its worth it imo

Although it's an action bar, it's a lot more actioney. I think it's better in that regard than Let's say Guild Wars 2. And I played both Wildstar and Guild Wars 2.
Also, this thread hasn't been updated for a while so I'll add some videos which had been posted in the meantime!
I love the idea of housing. It would be cool to have housing act like an achievement system.
It's a thing that might keep people playing a while even after they got bored with content/gameplay.
Im actually pretty psyched for this game! I know I shouldn't be though. Never be hyped for an MMO cuz 9 times out of 10 the game will disappoint you (the 1/10 was wow lol).

Yea, we were burned hard for GW2. I'm optimistic about Wildstar
Played it right after the ClosedBeta3 started, but after 20min I lost interest in Wildstar. Tried like 2 classes(esper/spellsinger), both really bad. The rogue-class I played in the stresstest was kinda ok. But overall nothing special, will probably end someway like GW2. Not terrible, but nothing great. If its F2P it could so OK.
I agree that gamers are getting older, looking for something different. but I have to say, playing 2 classes, in 20 min is kind of a small sample of the gameplay that unfolds. I cannot say what they are planning on the forums, nda and all, but to me looks better then gw2 so far.

The closest thing resemblng Archeaology is the explorer path with you needing to go to certain places. The thing which makes it different however is that you usually have to do quite some platforming to reach your goal. It's not boring as the mind numbing Archeaology (I have no idea why I did that in WoW -_-'')
And yes, it is an ongoing beta, though it's not up every day. Can't say more.

Well, of course it's a bit better, but the whole Path system still look more like " The thing you do for fun when you"re bored" to me than a core feature for the moment. I'm quite interested by the way they are doing combat and movement tho.

To me this looks more promising than GW2 simply because of how much emphasis they're putting on endgame content (I remember them saying they have more people developing endgame content than leveling content). I had great fun playing GW2 at levels 1-79, but at 80 it fell on its face due to a complete lack of endgame power progression (cosmetic things just don't do it for me).

It plays a lot better then GW2 ever did. There's a few reasons for that. Some which I can name and some which I can't say due a potential NDA which discloses from ever admitting being in the beta, so I will refrain from doing so.
The combat feels a lot more fluid and you feel to have a lot more control over your own character. The telegraph system is really great as well. Honestly, it's just something you have to try out yourself and make your opinion about it. But it does play a lot better then Guild Wars 2 for me. The game definitly isn't a pushover in pve, even in low level zones. They really force you to learn your abilities and use them to the best which is great.
Regarding end game (Elder game in Wildstar) from interviews and info released it's stated that about half the content is elder games. Leveling to the maximum level is one thing, but then you should (if they deliver) have a huge amount to do.

That's actually the intention, it's not something you have to do. As a matter of fact, you don't get regular xp for it but path xp. It's an entirely optional thing you can skip. Will it give some benefits in for let's pvp? Definitly (the settler can build military buildings in open world which does open up a lot of potential regarding world pvp).
