According to the official Pokemon site, a new Pokemon will be revealed on their Facebook later today. All that is known about this Pokemon is that it is an evolution, but whether it is of a Kalos Pokemon or a previous region's Pokemon is unknown. I'll edit this post once the Pokemon is announced.
In other news, a new currency system in Pokemon X and Y is confirmed, known as "Poke Miles". The new Global Link set to replace the Dream World from Black and White will make use of these Poke Miles in some form to purchase items and other services, though the specifics are again unknown. While Poke Miles will primarily be earned in the Global Link, there will apparently be some method of obtaining them in the games proper. All players with Dream Points in the current Global Link system will have those points converted to Poke Miles. Services for the Dream World will start to shut down as of next week, and will gradually be phased out between then and January 2014.

You can still catch one within black / white 2 in the abundant shrine hidden grotto so don't worry too much.
Like its unevolved form, Doublade is a Steel/Ghost type with the ability No Guard. According to Serebii.net's description, Double "is capable of carrying out intricate attacks by telepathically coordinating its two blades to deliver twice the slice in battle." While this may be nothing more than Pokedex information, it can be speculated that Doublade will make use of attacks that hit multiple times in a single turn, such as Double Hit and Fury Swipes. Its known movepool consists of Swords Dance, Aerial Ace (on a No Guard Pokemon, lol), and Shadow Sneak.
I have high hopes for this game with the recent string of good games, mario luigi dream team, fire emblem awakening, etc have all been excellent. I think 3DS is finally hitting its stride as they realized the touch controls are stupid and gimmicky and should be severely limited. Mario luigi dream team in particular did a great job in making the touch controls innovative, even though they were still shitty to use.

I couldn't agree more. The general rule I follow with any new gaming system release is that the first year or so of the console's lifespan will be comparatively mediocre, because the games produced for that console don't really take full advantage of its capabilities and hardware. It took a little longer for the 3DS, but right now, Nintendo is really getting into its stride, as you said, with this series of consistently great games. Hell, even the Wii U is kicking it up a notch with the advent of The Wind Waker HD and other titles, which is making up for the initial poor sales figures.
I still think the 3D gimmick is still a novelty at best and really isn't necessary (it hurts my eyes to use it!), but the 3DS in and of itself is a solid gaming platform that is now finally getting into gear.
Im actually happy that Blastoise/Venusaur dont get another mega evo because this Charizard looks like a fucking joke Dont think Ken Sugimori would design those poor creatures

They will get other evolutions otherwhys starter imbalance happens and people QQ
Mega Charizard X could actually be REALLY scary. Stealth Rock won't hurt it nearly as much; it gets some good resistances with its Dragon-type; its Fire-type STAB moves let it hurt Fairy-types that are immune to its Dragon moves; its ability Tough Claws further boosts physical moves; it gets a fantastic physical movepool with moves like Flare Blitz, Outrage, Earthquake, Crunch, ThunderPunch, and whatever it gets in X and Y; it has plenty of powerful boosting moves like Dragon Dance and Swords Dance; and if it manages to pull off a Belly Drum, you are almost certainly totally fucked. The only things that could hold it back could be a middling Speed stat and the one-turn setup for Mega evolution.
Based off my own knowledge of Pokemon, I see Mega Charizard X (ChariXard?) as potentially one of the most fearsome physical threats in the new metagame. Like Charizard in previous generations, it will require a lot of support, but if that support is used well, I see very few things that can stop it once it gets rolling. Strong priority users and Choice Scarfers could revenge kill, but I think ChariXard will be more than capable of smashing through at least one Pokemon during its rampage. Maybe something like Jellicent could wall it for some time, with Cursed Body to disable one of its moves, but ThunderPunch or even Shadow Claw will still do a number on it thanks to 2x effectiveness and boosted damage from Tough Claws. Not only that, but Jellicent's Scald will only be of neutral effectiveness, and will no longer burn ChariXard, due to Fire-types being immune to burns in X and Y. Maybe a Fairy type with Flash Fire would be the best choice for taking it on, but ChariXard's coverage moves can still do plenty of damage, and we don't know if there will be something like that in X and Y.
Oh, and God help you if you have to take a boosted Flare Blitz from this thing in the sun.
Actually, regarding Mega evolutions, I don't actually know if they persist upon switching out, or if you have to reactivate the evolution every time you send that Pokemon in. If it's the latter, then ChariXard might not be incredibly viable due to the sheer amount of switching involved in mispredictions. However, even if that's the case, something like a Life Orb ChariXard could still wreak havoc by simply coming in and spamming Flare Blitz until it dies, taking a big chunk of health out of the opponent if not killing something outright. That would still be a lot of setup, though; you'd have to ensure Stealth Rock is off the field, switch in Charizard on something that's afraid of it, Mega evolve, use a boosting move, and THEN start attacking. That's a large window of vulnerability, even if you decide to forgo the boosting move and just go all-out attacking mode.
I predict that ChariXard will possess quite a few exploitable weaknesses and require lots of support and prediction, just like normal Charizard. If it sets up, though, you WILL be punished for it.
I've edited this post like 14 times. I should be working, but Pokemon is too exciting~ :3
