Yep. I'm pretty sure no one is going to be able to outbid New Orleans for him when his next contract situation comes up, and assuming nothing catastrophic happens to him they'll probably sign him to a 5 year deal.

Also anyone know if leaguepass broadband gets preseason games?
Just checked with NBA.TV, none of the preseason games will be broadcasted, so you'll just have to wait a couple of days more :\

yup. just like they used to say about that guy Chris a few years ago..
and Sterling, once again showing execs what not to do...over and over and over. Can't say Clippers agreeing didn't cross my mind when I heard Lakers jumping back into the CP3 discussions

Well, the clippers bandwagon is pretty huge right now in LA, I can tell you that much

wtfomgbbq wat am i seeing
cp3 to the clippers, and ive always been a clippers fan btw, my sister has preseason tickets. its going to hard not to try to steal it just to see cp3

I'm so sad they traded Eric Gordon :'( They should have never traded him & used that Minnesota pick to get someone amazing in the draft. The 2012 draft is absolutely stacked.

Jamal Crawford signs with Portland, they're getting a really nice team for the upcoming season, should be fun to watch!

New Orleans made out like a bandit in this deal.

i can understand that new orleans got the better end of the trade, but.. was the trade really THIS one sided?
i mean come on its cp3 we're talking about here

it's a cp3 with a bad knee who can walk out in 2 years, both literally and metaphorically
but he is also a semi insurance factor for making griffin stay and giving them instant championship contention. i mean, they definitely gave up more in ths deal but in my opionion they needed to and will be worthwhile

But they have 2 previous-all star PGs already. Granted, neither is a superstar but it's not like PG was one of their weaknesses.

but would you rather paul or billups/mo time share. if you had a chance to sign one of the best PGs ever, you would! that's my opinion anyway

I don't think the step up to CP3 is significant enough for those. They had a strength at SG and relative strength at PG, now they have a high strength at PG and weakness at SG and missing a top pick. That doesn't do it for me.

fair enough.
i would have gone through the trade. who knows, minni might do well with adelamn this year, (maybe ~pick 10) anyway, we'll find out soon enough won't we!
i mean, there's also the commercial aspect of the trade, they're going to make a crap loads off tickets/shirt sales, just like when beckham signs with any soccer team.

yeah in the end i think we can all agree that the trade wasn't the best choice for clippers, but i dont think its that bad.
anyways, for entertainment purposes, i think it's going to be awesome - i used to watch clippers a little bit just cuz of blake griffin but now with cp3, they're gonna be pretty damn fun to watch (i hope)

Oh man, I watched all of the Clippers games last season, mainly because Baron Davis was there (and he rocks!), and hoooly shiiiit! Those guys play entertaining basketball! And if they're having an off day it's always fun to see a tall person with even longer arms (DeAndre Jordan) ;D
Edit:
My pick for ROTY has already been crushed before the season has started :\ Bismack Biyombo's team in Spain, Fuenlabrada, will retain his rights and he will not be allowed to play for the Bobcats this season
Sucks for Bobcats, I think Biyombo would've been a sick addition to their defense!

I don't know why people are pretending Eric Gordon is close to Chris Paul's level, or that players like Chris Paul grow on trees. This is a better trade up than Al Jefferson + stuff and picks for Kevin Garnett.

I'm speaking for myself, but I assume that other people like me expect him to be a significantly cheaper player, also 7.9 FTA/Game is very valuable.

No one thinks Eric Gordon is close to Chris Paul. Chris Paul is one of the 5 best players in the NBA and will probably end up in the Hall of Fame if his knee can hold on a few more years. But it's an issue of skill set. Whatever David Berri or the awful Wins Produced stat might say, Eric Gordon has the physical endowments and the skill set to become an excellent player. Combined with the fact that he's improved every single season? They're giving up an excellent asset that I don't think they had to.
