Still need to bitch.
Projected Lineup: Chris Paul, Randy Foye?, Ryan Gomes?, Blake Griffin, Chris Kaman/DeAndre Jordan. Wtf. Wtf? Am I the only person who sees a gigantic gaping butthole at swingman?
EDIT: OOhh Caron Butler at three. That makes me feel so much better. At least he isn't way past his prime and coming off a knee injury.
billups might start up at 2 and kaman has been traded
Damn it all to heck. Stupid Clippers allowed themselves to be played by Stern and overpaid way too much for Paul. They had no competition at all when bidding if it comes to draft picks and youth, so why play that game? Why not just sign Paul as a FA at the end of the year if Stern is going to play such hardball?
What's worse is that this trade "justifies" what Stern did, which is create a bullshit situation with false leverage/bargaining power for the Hornets derived from a blatant abuse of power and conflict of interest. Everyone's going to say Stern did a great job for the Hornets and for the league by taking advantage of a stupid Clippers front office. The Hornets should never have been able to get so much for 2 years of Paul with the complete lack of leverage they had.

He's not a proper 2. This whole thing is a mess for the Clippers. At least they get two future first rounders. I just don't see how a starting front court of CP3 + Chauncey is better than Chauncey + Eric Gordon, with Mo Williams and Eric Bledsoe coming off the bench.
I don't think Chauncey or Mo will be very good at 2. The team is now aging at 3 starting positions, without competent backups for #2 or #3 and an overpriced center.
narrabeen23 - Dec 14, 2011 at 8:31 PM In the way Belichick’s moves are seen as “smart” until proven otherwise; any Donald Sterling move should be viewed as “dumb” until proven otherwise.
Well it depends on what the Clippers want from their 2-guards. Either way Billups nor Mo Williams are penetrating threats so that takes a lot of pressure off of defenses going against them.
Shame to see Gordon go, they got to keep Bledsoe at least.. Even though Billups isn't a proper 2 guard, I can see him getting time instead of Foye.. Mo will probably be the next victim of the amnesty clause, even LAC has to realize that 4 PGs is too much. It's a bummer to see Aminu go, but they've got Butler at the 3 spot, so for the next couple of seasons they'll be fine (given he stays healthy). Kaman.. doesn't really bother me, the more playing time DeAndre Jordan gets the better.
I'm also excited to see which pick they ended up losing, I feel the Timberwolves can either tank hard or do OK (and by that I mean not amongst the bottom 8). If by some random chance the Wolves have a great season, LAC's trade is less worse at least :D
I don't think this is a great trade for the Clippers. They gave away a player that could be better than Chris Paul due to giving away their Minnesota unprotected draft pick. As well as Gordon. Just wow. I guess Stern realized he could wait out Sterling into sending them so many assets for Paul, due to Sterling's fear of losing Blake Griffin.
Does anyone else find hilarious the comparisons being made of David Stern to Vince McMahon? He might as well play this music everytime he walks out during the draft.
Also, in light of recent events, unless we find out new information, so should Mr. Chae.

Everything I've read has said the Clippers are getting Paul and two future second-round picks.

at least you have a centre....rockets are so screwed. not only did we not get pau/nene, we are only marginally better than minni, kings and hornets
Who would have thought a player would be devastated by being traded by the clippers?
He's in the 4th year of his rookie deal. When does he become eligible for free agency? Doesn't he have to choose to sign an extension? Put up some numbers then cash in.
