The worst race ever has been draenei but tbc was a good expansion even with them *edit also i dont know much about hardcore playing mmo's but arent those hardmode bosses actually pretty damn hard? according to paragon HM ragnaros10 has been the hardest boss to kill during whole wow.

I thought worgens were dumb, but this definitely tops it. I haven't raided this expansion since I don't feel like committing the time anymore. I raided hardmodes from Ulduar to LK hc and raided casually in TBC. Nowadays I log in a few times a week to do some casual dungeons or leveling, which I still enjoy. Patch 4.3 will be great for me with access to the raid finder, which will be great for casual use.
I'm just excited for MoP, what's wrong with that? I love the Panda idea and how they're going to deal with everything they announced so far.
It's just so tiring for me to see people bashing WoW at every opportunity. Blablabla wow is dying, wow is shit, pandas suck, cata sucks, deathwing sucks, pugs sucks, heroics are too hard, raids are too hard, raids are too easy, heroics are too easy, i want free epics, leveling is too easy, leveling is too long, wow is to easy, wow is to casual, the zones suck, the quests suck, the music sucks. Bah, just enjoy the game. I am just happy with what I have and I can't wait for MoP.
I'll admit I'm pretty bored with WoW at the moment. But guess what? I've been playing for 4 years. No wonder it gets boring. MoP looks like a breath of lighthearted fresh air with content for everyone.
And seriously, they're adding POKEMANS how cool is that? Maybe I'm just easy to please, but I like it so far.

This is basically the super duper ultra fun happy casual patch. The axing talents and the Pokemon announcement sold me on GW2 or Tera.
EDIT: It's not cool.

Dunno, I like super duper ultra fun happy I never understood all the "casual" hate, must be an ego thing or something.

WoWHead has a good list of the changes here: http://www.wowheadnews.com/blog=196426/blizzcon-2011-mists-of-pandaria-and-what-we-know
I really don't like what they did with the talent system. I do like that it actually brings back customization (as opposed to Cata trees which are herp derp), but there are just far too few options IMO. Guess I'll reserve judgement until I can see what the talents actually do.
Pet battle system is LOL... fkn pokemon. I'll probably still do it though :/
edit: Actually I'm a bit confused about the talent changes. There seem to be two conflicting reports here: Only one talent tree per class now. You earn a talent every 15 levels. Every talent you choose one of three, you cannot go back (so each level is important). Druids now have four specs. feral - cat DPS. Guardian - bear tank.
So if there's only one talent tree how can there be "specs"? Doesn't seem like enough talents for the hybrid classes. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Its not an ego thing its just what one wants out of a game.

I don't enjoy the game. Okay? You want to know more? Do you want me to write an essay? I have so many good memories of this game and to see them turning it into a joke pains me and infuriates me.
Competitive raiding and a realm-wide community were the two things I enjoyed in WoW, along with the Warcraft lore. None of it exists now. There is a dungeon finder, raid finder, raids that are terrible with a bazillion difficulty mods, and community is nonexistant due to cross server LFG, LFG itself and now raid finder will hit the final blow.

Gotta catch 'em all, pokemon!
After the previews of new sc2 units, now I have solid proof that everyone in blizzard is a hardcore pokemon fan.

If every player has content, there is no reason for the disgusting community we see today to exist. I hope.

I don't think anybody hates casuals, people don't like not being rewarded for making good choices, talents having some depth to them meant that the choices weren't completely obvious and you could tailor things to fit the situation/your playstyle/give maximum output.

If you're into hardcore progression raiding you can still do that, most people don't care about that though.

The reward and difference between being at the top and being in the middle are getting smaller and smaller. People didn't raid simply for the sake of raiding. People raided to get items and 1 shot other people who didn't put in the same effort as them. You actually felt significantly more powerful than other people. That's long gone.

Nah, its just when people are playing hardcore and the game gets casualised you feel like youve been cheated.

this expansion feels like a joke. what the hell have they done?! this was like them saying they are done with WoW and now its time to just go crazy.
what is the target audience here? kids between 5 and 10?
I am so dissappointed

If it's not coming back I have nothing to do with WoW anymore. End of story. It's good that you still enjoy it, but I recommend spending your money in games that would be worth its cost.
The game has become increasingly asocial throughout years. First, they cut down the raid size from 20/40 to 10/25. That was a big change, but BC had such a great raiding content that this did not matter. Then they introduced LFG system and with WOTLK, raids that you can play with either 10 or 25 man and literally pug with anyone. No longer you needed to be in a guild, and no longer you needed to be in a big guild. No longer there was a Sunwell, or Vanilla Naxx or C'Thun, that was the big, final goal for the most dedicated. This created a lot of small and fragmented guilds from small to mid size. Most of them failed in having good progression both gameplay wise and socially, so there were disbandments and quits. Then with the cross realm LFG, you no longer needed to meet anyone from your realm. Click and play. Raids were a joke anyway (Circus with one room and 5 bosses with no trash that they called raid) Ulduar was the only good thing, it was the last great raid, and partly Icecrown were okay.
I had the guild of me and my friends fail for constantly due to these factors above. When you make raids less special by making them easier and simpler to complete, the player stops caring less. The players tend to choose the easy path, and most of them go for a 10man style raiding. Due to how easy it sounds, hunreds of guild pop up everywhere. Only some of them succeed, but the ones that need extra players cannot recruit because people don't think about it, since they have their little small guild that they're happy with, or already a guild that sort of works(or not, but they just don't care, they are "casuals"). When you need people for your guild, there are so many players divided between all guilds that finding a new recruit is harder to find one when you were through BWL and needed a new main tank in Vanilla. Combine them with the community killing tools and there simply is no community anymore. Everyone is doing its thing and noone is special anymore, there is no gap seperating the dedicated players and those who don't. And that's why WoW is terrible now.

The heroic version of the last boss is always extremely difficult. Heroic Yogg-Saron, Arthas, Ragnaros, Sinestra are all harder than M'uru. My guild used to raid 22 hours a week when I joined in late 2005. It's down to around 10 hours a week on average now and I'm actually glad. The game is not new anymore and I think most people can't raid that long for very long stretches of time.
There were very few bosses in vanilla and TBC that could hold a candle against the average heroic bosses in current raids. The biggest problem to me is the ridiculous difference in difficulty between normal raids and heroic raids.

I find it funny people are judging the merits of this expansion on how "kiddish" it is, compared to what it'll actually bring.
Preface: Personally I love Pandas. I want a Panda Monk. Shits cool.
Actual Argument: As someone who quite WoW a long time ago, I may resub. They're re-introducing some fun things, adding more fun things, and genuinely getting me interested in looking to play it again (pending release date from GW2).
Only thing I disliked is the lack of PvP balance talk, and if they'll ever separate the two entirely. But I was never a hardcore raider. I liked raiding. It was fun. But PvP was my main goal.

@Bleak:
They just need to make sure they have content for the hardcore players to set them apart from the common man. I'm just waiting on their Dungeons and Raids panel to see how they're going to deal with that.
