Well to be fair, who is left to kill in the lore? Almost everyone important is dead.
We have Kiljaedenn...which was fought in BC ina weakened form with the help of blue dragons and that he wasn't in Azeroth entirely...we have Sargeras which would destroy the WoW heroes by just thinking about it....There really is nothing left.
I just wish they released Wrath prior to BC and BC came as the third expansion. It would have been much better. I think this news makes it clear for me that I won't touch any future xpansions anymore.

The WoW i knew and loved has been gone for a long time now. This isn't helping it. Seems they are after a completely different audience then they used to be for this game.

lol 2 sub par games for the price of $12.99x12= $155.00. No Thanks.

It sounds absolutely wonderful. They'll probably fuck it up though, but at least the zones look gorgeous.
But really, I don't understand why there's so much hate. Is it because of Blizzard's reputation with fucking WoW or is it hate against the very concept of the expansion. To me, the concept sounds awesome.

Personally I only have problems with the design of the pandarens themselves.
Remember the Brewmaster from WC3? I'll refresh your memory:
![[image loading]](http://cdn2.holytaco.com/wp-content/uploads/images/2010/10/Holy_SinjoHoneybrew_PandarenBrewmaster_4.jpg) Remember how small he was? How he split up and went berserk around your screen while you thought 'holy shit how can pandas almost be extinct this is crazy'?
They look fat, tall and ugly in WoW. It could have been awesome! Damn you blizzard.

I don't know, that video really feels like a huge joke.. especially 1:52-1:54.

Wow was over for me when I killed LK and got shadowmourne. I still log on once a week to farm h Rag, but it's not the same. This panda thing is april fools joke gone bad. I rather have nagas or pitlords.

they have just decided to trash the lore to include pandas and monks... seriously... I still can't believe it.

I said to myself when Rift came out if Rift's subscriber numbers declined and WoW picked its game up I'd go back to WoW. Neither of those things happened.
Blizzard is just milking its subscribers for whatever it can get. It makes sense, now they have more resources to use on Titan and WarCraft 4 (pretty please?).

Tbh so far the expansion seems like fun, cata and wotlk both were rather dull and boring graphics-wise but this one seems fresh. Wow was never grim like wc1/2 so i suppose they can cherish the childiness that colors bring. (Paladins wearing pink diamondsuits still make me wonder wtf is going on at blizz)

You are right, the only thing left they referenced is the emerald dream and maybe some old god. Killing "real" kiljaeden or sargeras is pretty unthinkable within wow lore, but so are panda's.
That's why i said they (blizzard with activision influence ) decided to make filler expansions between the big ideas they still have.

I totally facepalmed so hard when I watched the announcement. Was just... ugh... so dissapointing. I stopped playing wow when i realized how bad cata was and aint been back since. I thought that perhaps the next expansion might bring something awesome and might have revived the game. Honestly this combined with that year sub = free diablo 3 makes me think blizz is just clutching at staws to keep the game alive.

How can you tell if this is any worse than all the other stuff they have done? They surely won't lose a single word about the typical "best item before addon is worse than first random drop from new addon", so how can you tell from just knowing that there's a new continent, a new race, a new class, and new public raids or whatever that was earlier?
/edit: Also, why has no-one mentioned this yet here: this addon should be called World of Kung Fu Panda xD that trailer just now of the pandaren monk fighting sealed it for me. i'm definitely not going to call it anything else.
From where I'm sitting, they're basically just announcing "Alright, you've killed all of the badguys and pretty much closed all of the plots and storylines we opened in WC3. We've literally run out of stuff to talk about and we can't come up with anything new. So, now we're going to throw in some fan service (Panderans), throw in the defacto Monk class (any RPG that throws this guy in has basically run out of ideas), make the Horde and Alliance go to war with one another just for the heck of it, and add a bunch of casual friendly mechanics (dungeon challenges, valor points from daily quests, yada yada) in order to keep you all entertained while we scramble to save this franchise."

Err, that's not what it sounds like to me. To me it sounds like they're finally genuinely attempting to make all parts of gameplay rewarding to players with large skill disparities. It sounds like they want to reinvigorate world pvp with the alliance vs the horde. And to be honest, a little bit of deviation from BIG BAD DUDE IS GOING TO DESTROY THE WORLD storyline is like a breath of fresh air.

There is also that naga goddess. And they could start pve'ing opposing factions.

Well fuck. If it wasn't so time consuming I might fall back into it. Although knowing that I won't be able to make a Storm Spirit type character is probably enough to keep me safe.

Giving me pandas AND monks? May almost be enough to get me to renew my subscription XD
