Nah, he'll never make that mistake again and Toronto is playoff bound sooner than you might think.
I still think he'll end up somewhere in Florida and I'm very happy the Caps beat the Bruins. Now if only my other teams would win tonight everything will be peachy!.

with ~10 games left in the regular season Reimer dropped off the face of the earth. he had another concussion. they can dress it up all they want as a "neck injury" or "upper body" injury or whatever... bottom line is that Reimer's concussion issues will plague the remainder of his goaltending career.
so the question becomes: who plays in net for the leafs? without a decent goalie they have no chance at making the playoffs.

I don't know how Brian Burke would even go that low. I heard on Hockey Buzz from Eklund that he is offering 10 first rounders and one half of each of the Sedin Twins, named Danrik. He's also reporting that he could ship the other half of the Sedin Twins, Henriel and the rest of this and next years draft to Buffalo for Hodgson, whom he would also include in the trade for Luongo.
And everyone knows Eklund is the most reliable source in the NHL websphere.

lmao
As for Flaccid,
I really see no way of the Leafs landing Luongo. TML have a lot of good prospects, but I don't see that deal getting done. My guess is Tampa.
Rem got shaken, not stirred. As for the concussion setback that will never go away because the media won't let it. Any bumps he takes and they'll bark. There are a lot of goalies out there nowadays who have their 15 minutes of fame and it's over. Some manage to make minor comebacks others don't. Time will tell. If the team regains focus the confidence will come back.
I never liked the coaching change and it was too little too late. The players were thinking way too much and that's why their offence and defense got even worse. Too much thinking about the play and where they need to be so the team lost all their speed. Just look at the GA and shots on net. That tells the story. Gustavsson and Reimer got little to no help all season long. The two outstanding holes I'd fill first are get another elite defenseman and a big power forward. I'd let the goalies in the system sort it out themselves at the moment.
If anything Toronto has to get bigger. They have so many frigging small guys. Even if they made it to the playoffs this year they would have got knocked out in the first round like every other rush team in the league nowadays. Kessel can take a beating and stay injury free, but because he's so small its easy to keep him at the perimeter and he does the same shit every game. Lupul and Kessel had great chemistry this year, but it's bloody unlikely they will have the same success regardless of the coaching change.
If the Leafs were still in the West their drought would be a lot longer, but because they're in the East. Pretty much anyone can make it no matter how good the club is. The turnover rate is ridiculous.

In other news they announced the Norris Trophy finalists: Chara, Karlsson and Weber.
I'm banking on Weber.

Clearly I'm 100% serious :O
|
I would go w/ Weber too, but I honestly don't think it will be long before Karlsson is the perennial favorite. I can only see him improving. I'd like to think Letang can become a consistent name mentioned for that honor as well, but after his play-off performance where he looked like an adolescent and his recent injury history, I am not sure he will ever return to form.
|
lol
Never said you were man, but I do like analyzing! :D
Burke might consider Luongo's contract if it were much shorter. He never liked anything over 5 years. Thing is the Leafs have given up many able goalies in the past and I see no reason for them letting Scrivens and Reimer duke it out for the number 1 role. Way too soon to bring Roberto in.
I would be shocked if he doesn't end up in Tampa as they really need it.

Oh hey Boston, once again shoe is on the other foot. I like the whole "they don't represent the rest of us fans" w/regards to the racist remarks, where were those guys last year? Oh wait.
Also I bet Luongo goes to Tampa Bay, since they need a goalie plus his family lives around there if I remember right.

hatred is at its worst when you hate someone for being good.

Ya I am also leaning towards Tampa. Swap Malone's kind of expensive contract for Luo's slightly more expensive, longer contract. Lou goes back to facing 60 shots a game without having to worry about any semblance of defense but because its the SE the Lightning have a shot at showing him some playoff time anyway.
But...Burke is under the microscope now. All his big blustery talk about being 'tough' and 'truculent' has meant that he loaded up on a bunch of terrible 'big' defensemen with brutal contracts and a bunch of midgets at forward position without a first line center. I'd bet he has one more year to show some improvement or else he finally is removed from the GM level of the NHL. [which would be a great thing for all around]

If he were 10 years older and half the goalie, Steve Tambellini would sign him to a 15 year extension. LONGLIVETHEOILERS
|
...are the Hawks seriously on Luongo's shortlist? Whatisthisidonteven
|
Well, if the Rangers play the Caps the way they played that last game, its going to be Washington in 5.

I'd give him one to two years left because of the new management coming in and they want to re-evaluate him. Two years tops.

Nooooo Panthers No more phoenix-florida final

Sad that the Panthers lost, and I don't really like the Devils very much. Should still make for a good series against Philadelphia though. Congrats to them.
