With the way nets currently are, easy 3 sec stun for beast map bosses would be ridiculous. Catching is extremely easy since that change, although I'll admit that it still needs an auto-beast targeting area, since finding the right ape amonst 30 others can be extremely tough.

That said, I'm yet to see things that I want to craft with Bestiary after the leveling phase. 90% of the recipes are garbage rare crafting stuff (that got cheaper now, wow), that might be slightly helpful in SSF at most. Essences were A LOT better for that matter. GGG did a really bad job with these recipes, could remove almost all of them and add more interesting ones (say random life ring with dex with both at least T3)..

So far this league is almost pointless. Even with Abyss being broken at start by lvl 85 with my first character I've already seen 2 liches and got some new league uniques.
This league so far was fighting a few uninteresting red beasts and crafting nothing. My most useful craft was adding warding and staunching to flasks.. I really didn't need whole league mechanics for that.

Most notably you have worse map drops, since Abyss added quite a few monsters that were able to drop maps. I mean, it's still better than some leagues back.
Still from the reward point of view Abyss was better imo, and the unique items added seem not very intersting. Unless the Aspects are really good and I don't know it, I'd never want to use any of these items. And there aren't much more other items, aside from a few prophecy upgrades that are mostly bad. Atziri's mirror upgrade is cool but obscenely hard to obtain (or bugged? idk none on poe.trade atm).

I came back to PoE with Essence league and current one is by far the worst one I was part of.

Imho this league just lacks something big atm.

I guess depending on build the red mobs can be scary but for mine they are just little roadbumps due to their HP. It doesn't feel special to kill/catch them, normally i just visit the Altar before i log off to grab some trash uniques...

Breaches were scary, abyssal depts were scary... Bestiary just feels like "occasional mob with tons of hp".

Heh, I found above ground abyss cracks more scary due to those mobs getting map mods, the ones in depths were usually pretty tame in comparison.

I didn't play much in Abyss league, so that never really "hit me" - was kinda burnt out from Harbinger... Iirc i started mapping, went to (normal) Atziri twice, then failed at Izaro in U-Lab twice due to stupid and then was done with the league :p.

Abyssal Depts/Cracks just felt scary alltogether (having a total classcannon build and 0 desire to trade for "ok" rares didn't help )...

In that case I can imagine. For me Abyss league was about making tanky characters after my first one was not tanky so for most of that league abyss was not dangerous.

Abyss also had a very palpable impact in that the "cool new content" from the league-abyssal jewels and jewel sockets was available from the Coast (or Strand or whatever its name is now) on. All Bestiary offers is easier ways to get leveling gear until you win the RNG lottery and kill a legendary beast that lets you craft a portal to fight a "Spirit Beast" to craft a crappy aspect skill that's useless without specific uniques that also drop from those super rare spirit beast encounters. Even with those uniques, they seem meh. And for a weekend one of the aspect/unique combos broke the game.

I suppose you also get a ton of useless garbage recipes that are worse than essences cluttering up the interface with a handful of actually useful recipes which-surprise surprise-are locked behind incredibly rare beasts. With the coolest ones locked behind beast and attribute combinations that still can't spawn a week into the league.

Etup is currently duping 6Ls for people and getting 20c every other minute for it... from the item mod splitting recipe. It also lets you dupe Uber Lab enchanted items as well as currently also Elder/Shaped rares (this is not intended). I honestly wonder if this is all intended because it's dumb af.

The funny part is that it wasn't noticed as a problem in development because the recipe required literal impossible mods to occur on beast rares so they just assumed "nice we made it so rare it can't possibly be an issue" rofl

They fixed that with 3.2.0b and BAM the entire league is a joke. The real problem is they'll hotfix it to require some insanely rare beasts in about 10 minutes after they get on for the day and people who didn't abuse it while GGG were asleep will get fucked by all the people who did.

This is hilarious lol.
I dunno if the league was good or bad, but I'm definitely finding it not fun to play. Capturing beasts is just a huge pain in the dickhole and the utterly random shit you get from the "recipes" is a waste of time. You could get a rare +20IAS weapon or +1IAS weapon.
Abyss felt way better designed even though the jewels and armor pieces from lich were absurd. It was at least straight forward and instantly gratifying with drops.

I do think "we didn't anticipate people would stockpile beasts and cause things to go haywire in a situation like this" is an absolutely hilarious thing for GGG to say. Surely they understood that no one was using any of the random rare garbage recipes and that this recipe used two rare beasts that could easily have come from yellow/red garbage that let us make that kind of stuff? They have to be able to track that much at least.

I mean, the recipe was kinda self-evidently easy to spam. It required a single mod (so not even red skulls on the map, yellow skulls worked) on any "of the deeps" mob which should be a solid quarter of mobs since there are only 4 "of the X" types. Sure you needed two of them, but thats still like 50x more common than the random bullshit "FERRIC FENUMERAL CRAICIC SAQAWALI HYDRA WOLF ALPHA BETA GAMMA" that you need for most useful shit.

It was also easily one of the recipes that jumped out at experienced players as very powerful, totally outside of the base-duping effect. Finding an item with 3 great mods and 3 garbage mods was always rough, but this is like a significantly improved 3 annulment orbs, where you have a real shot of getting many of the good mods on one item and being able to craft something truly insane. Annulments are not to be trifled with in a crafting sense, and this is a power jump from them. Duping items is just stupid in all sorts of ways obviously, and is going to ruin the intended crafting power of this recipe.

It's a shame that as near as I can tell, this was costed at about 10x more common than something like "create a random white 15-20% quality flask" which is worth on average about 0.5 glassblower baubles. There literally cannot have been a final reasonability-check on crafting recipes in general.

When this happened in Forsaken Masters they just removed the craft and then the league continued with some people having super powerful weapons. It would be nice if GGG learned something along the way, but seems unlikely.

There wasn't even a check to make sure it didn't work on elder and shaper items, even when it was being enabled in its own separate patch.

I mean, intentionally adding more high ilevel six-links is actually pretty neat, even at a common rarity. The problem is that doesn't seem to be their intention and they are getting "1000 hours of playtesting" memed real hard on this.

I mean, I kinda doubt they wanted duping six-links to be easier and more common than actually experiencing the end-game beast bosses and aspect skills. But who knows with GGG. It feels like all their decisions are based on like one guy's spreadsheet and that makes things go haywire, like that one healthcare plan that was going to quintuple premiums for people age 55-64 because nobody double checked the edge cases.

People are drawing a lot of similarities to the leaguestone exploit where you could proc the stone's effect on a map and not use up a charge which led to people abusing the most OP leaguestones for stupid profit. GGG banned like 15 accounts for that abuse I believe

Duping lab enchants and 6L items obviously is not at all like that, since it's clearly intended behaviour, but technically splitting shaper/elder items is a clear case of bug abuse since it literally says "does not work with shaped/elder items". Now, I don't think GGG should ban people who mass-duped shaped/elder bases because this one is totally just their own fuck-up and you did still technically pay a cost to do this splitting, but I think there IS an argument there (#banraiz)

I think it's reasonable to punish people who abused the shaper/elder duping. 6link not though.
Nothing is impossible, only some things for some people.
