Really cant say you love arsenal and in the next sentence say youre gonna support their rivals man utd
Some times it is nice not being a super hard core fan(I wasn't born to follow a team to the death) and just enjoying quality football, Arsenal has failed to deliver it over the 6 years. It may look nice, but when you cannot convert it into anything else(I loved watching Arsenal since EPL was first broadcasted in Canada which was in the mid 90's). Wenger holds onto the hope that youth are the way of the future, he has accomplished nothing with the players he has brought in or developed other then selling them to other teams when they are worth enough. So I stand by my switch and say fuck Wenger and his fucked up logic, he hasn't won shit unless you count the team he inherited as his creation.

He does incredibly well (no trophies only 6 years or so, but still got to CL Final, high EPL finishes, etc), plays beautiful soccer, and still turns a profit for his owner.
The man's a genius. If you want money splashed, go blame your owner. Don't blame Wenger.

Wouldn't surprise me.

I am not sure if he will be in Germany's starting line-up at the EuroCup 2012, as there will be fierce competition: Hummels(extremely strong), Höwedes, Badstuber, Boateng and (maybe) Friedrich.

I feel the hysterical criticism of Wenger is totally misplaced. This coming from a United fan. He transformed the club after George Graham into a team of international repute, with a fantastic stadium. The fact is that Arsenal is not as big a club as either United or Liverpool and their income is commensurate with that fact. Considering their competing against teams that have invested literally hundreds of millions and have still managed to be consistently top 4 atleast and have made more than respectable forays in Europe. then I do not see what more you can ask of him. The idea that one or two technically defunct English 'players of character' would transform their fortunes is ludicrous. He may be tactically naiive at times (example, 8-2) but his overall quality as a manager cannot be questioned. Its an easy excuse but the result over the weakend was the outcome of considerable injuries and suspensions. Sure, the bench was bare, the quality on the pitch was poor, and many of their players do not match but how can you expect them to all things considered?
I've heard some people in the media criticise him because he hasnt 'paid silly money'! Also heard some questionable phrases 'sometimes you have to pay over the odds'.... no, if your paying 'over the odds' your paying more than the players worth. Just because the team improves does not mean the transfer was good and should have been made. Spending £35m on Andy Carroll for example, that is questionable no matter how you put it.

This window is depressing as fuck for an Evertonian like me

"Just been told by @saifpr top agent Saif Ruby that manchester city have offered £100 million + Balotelli for Messi Barca considering it now!" from Chris Kamara's twitter, hahaha never going to happen.

City should offer Tevez and £1 billion for Messi, I mean if they're going to spend beyond their income might as well go all-out.

With their possession (75% in this game), they don't really need a bunch of true defenders... imagine this group with Villa in for Pedro and Xavi for Alcantara. Man U beat Arsenal 8-2 Arsenal finished 4th last season.. Man City beat Tottenham 5-1 they finished 3rd and 5th respectively.. flawed logic .. How is that flawed logic? You just repeated the point I was making.
yea sorry I figured you were just blindly la liga bashing.. my bad..

Kaka in London, Spurs or Arsenal?

No way Kaka could get a work permit in time.. o_o

Would love Kaka and Arteta. Benayoun? Hells naw.
Loving the Arsenal 'fan' above. You can't really call yourself a fan of the side if you jump ship at the first sign of trouble. I'm not an Arsenal fan through and through, but it's been sad to see the team on the decline due to Arsene's committment to a budget while other teams pass him by with their spending. Let's face it, Arsene has done wonders with his budget to keep them in the top four and turn a profit. Moyes has done similar things, albeit on a much smaller budget. I just wish he had been more free to spend his pennies before the end of the window - 90mil could have been the start of a new era.

I feel like this ending of this transfer window is really really underwhelming. Its always amusing to watch the Sky reporters milling around the training grounds of certain clubs trying to generate as much news as possible when it might just be better to wait for clubs to make announcements anyways.
Personally, I think that most end of transfer-window buys aren't too wise. Given that the season has already started, its probably better to have made all the transactions and given time for the new players to gel with their teammates. A good look at how players view the end of the transfer window in my opinion was written here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/aug/26/secret-footballer-transfer-deadline-day.

Ah, shit. Roma got Gago, a player I really dislike for some reason. I hate when this happens.
|
Roma also got Pjanic who was wanted by every big club a year ago but somehow garnered little interest this summer and went to Roma quietly. It's hilarious how many deals get done on deadline day. I'm not sure if Benayoun or Arteta are what Arsenal needs.
|
Ofcourse the Messi story will be nonsense. Messi is probably worth more than 100m to barca. I heard Madrid recouped the 70m from Ronaldo by selling his shirts in the first year in MADRID ALONE!!!!
|
Stoke did well do get Crouch and Palacios. I can't wait to see Delap throwing headers to the giant in the box.
|
Speaking of Roma, i heard Fabio Borini joined them. He was incredible when played in chelsea's reserve team, and had a great year in swansea last season (or half a year, i don't remember). GL to this guy.

Haha at the people taking a tweet by Mr Kamara as anything other than a joke. He's probably my favourite guy at sky though, always creates a few laughs.
