That's what I don't get. He played average Finals basketball when you're suppose to play above average and he's just like, "w/e sometimes just shots didn't go in". WTF! You WILL those mofo's to go in if you want it bad enough. Wade managed to do that in the series after having a completely bad Chicago series. Sure you can't do it every game but, it never felt like Lebron ever tried to go above and beyond.
Funny how the whole regular season it came down to who was going to take the final shot. Who freaking knew that it would be about about Lebron's lack of aggressiveness in the Finals. Mind Boggling...

Too many people blaming the loss all on Lebron.. Its a team game not a one man show. Give some more credit to Dallas they put on a shooting clinic this playoffs and came back in games that most teams would have lost.

I don't blame lebron, he's just a dude. But that's the thing. It's clear he's just a dude, not the best player ever. Not MJ, not even kobe. Just a dude.
Maybe he will show he's more than just a dude in the finals next year.

Dallas won because they didn't need Nowitzki as much a Heat fans think Heat needed Lebron. A Team is a Team.

Now THAT game put me at peace with this season. Well done Mavs!

Yeah, but you can't have aspirations to be the greatest player ever- which he clearly does- and just be a dude. There have been lots of great players who were 'just a dude' and they didn't get any shit because they didn't flaunt themselves.
Kobe may not be Jordan's equal, but he was never 'just a dude', he was a madman. He upheld that part of the bargain.
I hope that makes sense. Lol.

i heard something on the radio that made me lol... "Tomorrow is Lebron day in Texas. Everyone gets to leave work 12 minutes early."
So true, the man shrunk in the fourth quarter all series.

Playing armchair psychiatrist....
Lebron's to-do list this summer (the same list for the past 8 summers):
1) Fire his band of yahoo groupies/yes men. An athlete with charisma and a high school education sometimes only gets you so far in the PR world. His media quotes have been, at various times, ambiguous, contradicting, poorly articulated, poorly worded. Lebron acts like he *knows* people will criticize him no matter what he says, when that is absolutely not the case.
2) Swallow his pride or stop being lazy or <insert other reason> and develop even a rudimentary post game. Wade scored on like 70% of the plays when he took Kidd in the post. At some point, it's got to be embarrassing to shoot 20 foot jumpers when being guarded by JJ Barea.
3) Ask Ron Artest for a psychologist referral.

yay my faith and love in basketball remains intact <3
Go Mavs and the Germ, well done!
edit: oh and so happy for J Kidd

Of course that makes sense, I agree, thats what im sayin

Congrats to the Mavs. Well deserved. Although it hurts to see another team than the Lakers holding that trophy

Sorry if this is old but I had to say it:
Why didn't Lebron go to college?
Because he never shows up at the finals...
AND IT PAINS MY HEARTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

The only thing he specified about his life was his family. He's being a little defensive, but I haven't met a critic who wouldn't be given if they took from everyone what they're dishing out.
No he just said that everyone else has to wake up and go back to their "personal problems," and he gets to do "what he wants." He didn't explicitly say "I have more money than you" but this isn't exactly subtle stuff.
Anyway the Mavs won and they did it by playing good team basketball and having the best coach in the series. I'm curious now to see what the Heat do. Dampier/Z/Howard are getting to be/are too old to play in the NBA anymore. They need a new rotation at Center. I don't think they keep Bibby, and they don't exactly need Eddie House. Going forward with a core of James/Wade/Bosh/Chalmers/Anthony with Haslem/Miller off the bench looks fairly good until you realize they have 0 7-footers, but I don't see them getting even a halfway-decent one without making changes to the current roster. Thoughts?

They can do well without a 7 footer but they really need another Point Guard. Chalmers was excellent (finally) so he should be back to starting next year.
A better rebounding Center is crucial. Even someone like Dalembert can hell there since I think he'll be a Free Agent this summer.
Everything else I agree with. They have to get rid of all the baggage players that really didn't help them. James Jones is going to be back next season (foot injury kept him out) so their wing rotation will be solid.
Chalmers Wade James Bosh Anthony Miller Jones Pittman (the Center they drafted)
I think that's the roster they come into next season with. Everyone else you listed including Juwan Howard is most likely a goner.

Thing is Lebron gets hyped as if he actually could be, and has the physical skill to actually do it. Mentally though, he just doesn't seem to have it. I like that Travis, i'm gonna use "he's just a dude" at work

Lebron has played ten NBA Finals games, and his highest point total is 25 (done twice in 2007). Today Jason Terry put in 27.
That stat just freaking blows my mind.

Lebron after all the hype he gives himself just doesn't have it in him to be "great". He is undoubtedly the most talented player in the league but you can just see how he isn't always there in crunch time, and doesn't work himself back into the game. Also his press conference showed 2 things, he is a douche, and that he doesn't have a strong sense of team or that he needs to work on shit. He is absolutely horrible at posting and playing off the ball outside scripted oops, if he fixed that and got mentally tougher he would be unstoppable but i don't see either happening anytime soon, as he refuses to be coached and is surrounded by yes men and jockers.
Also dirk was just amazing, if you take away the garbage time 4 quarter points james racked up the last few games after they were over dirk is averaging his total. And hurrah for kidd getting a ring, one of the true great pgs in the league, and its funny how he basically got his ring in almost the exact same way payton did before him.
Also terry's challenge to lebron and then outplaying him the last 3 games is one of my all time fav finals stories.

You just can't win against Lebron. No matter what happens, he either wins or loses. The opposite team never wins, it was the same for SA last time.
I wish people would talk more about Dallas, the ridiculously underrated team that people thought would lose in the first round and won the championship. About how much heart they had, about how much it must've meant to them after disappointing in the past.
And about how potentially scary they could be next year, with Butler coming back, and Beaubois possibly contributing a little more.
