Ok, this is fairly off-topic (as the question I'm about to ask has nothing to do with either players or teams in the playoffs) - but why the fuck did the Clippers trade B. Diddy for Mo Williams AND their first round draft pick in the upcoming draft?
I mean, Baron is a great PG (I might be a bit biased, I just think he's baller), and most likely better than Mo, and with another first round pick this draft, they'd have the cards to create a sick team for the future.. I mean, Blake, Gordon, Aminu, Baron, Kaman (and Bledsoe on the bench with Foye + the future first round pick)..
Meh
Back to topic; excited to see if the Grizzlies can bring the heat once again tonight, would be insane if they actually took out the Spurs! Also, I want the Nuggets to get a win, they've played too hard to get swept :<

Just as the MAVs are not very likely to turn the ball over or miss as much as they did that quarter.
Ray Allen had a terrific series against the Knicks, excited to see how they match up against MIA, who can defend both him and Pierce pretty well. This year has confirmed my opinion of Paul Pierce as highly overrated. I don't even hear the announcers talk about him.
Or maybe it has something to do with the Celtics playing a complete team game. They've had 4 different point leaders in each of their games. With a team full of studs, Pierce won't always be the go to guy.

There is a threefold answer to the Clipper questions. Firstly, Baron Davis's contract is absolutely awful. It goes until the 2013 season at around 14 million dollars a year. Mo Williams contract is extended to 2013 as well (thought 2013 is a player option, I imagine he'll pick it up) but at only around 8.5 million dollars a year. So money is the first reason.
Secondly, in order to get Davis's contract off the books, the Clippers had to tempt Cleveland with a 1st rounder. The 2011 draft is shaping up to be the worst draft since the atrocity that was the 2000 NBA draft class, at least in many expert's eyes, as well as Neil Olshey.
Thirdly, Mo Williams is a more consistent (and some people would say "better") point guard than Baron Davis. Davis was shooting like sub-30% from three and Williams is hitting about 40% with the Clips. I admit that Davis has more physical potential - but he's older, has poor shot selection and not really his former self anymore.

"Hornets coach Montie Williams showed his team a YouTube video phenomenon called “Battle at Kruger” about a wildebeest calf in peril vs. lions — but saved by the wildebeest herd that initially was run off by the lions but hung with it and came back better focused and organized. The wildebeest calf that was about to be devoured is able to escape into the herd, and the lions get chased away.
Hornets coach Monty Williams said lead assistant coach Mike Malone introduced Williams to the footage.
Williams said the point for the Hornets players despite not having the advantage that the lions had: “Don’t give up. The calf lived. It was getting attacked for about three, four or five minutes, and it lived. They just stayed together. The lions obviously had the advantage, but the wildebeests were pretty tough when they’re together.” "
epic :D

Well when was the last time you saw baron Davis play? He is not the same player he was a few years ago or really close to it.

If you had been in the DDL you would know that those were water buffalo not wildebeest. JA Adande was crushed when he was told.

Memphis playing the Spurs tough again... this first round has been more exciting than expected.

I love the grizzlies play, it reminds me of college ball. Just a bunch of no names playing tough defense and taking quality shots, tons of young players too. A bright future most likely.

Spurs getting demolished... wow...

Damn, the Grizzlies are whooping the spurs big time. Spurs defense has been horrible. Out of the last 7 shots at least 5 was wide open jumpers....

For all that, this series is more about SA's guards being hurt. Bad defense, no penetration, no open 3s... their entire style is compromised. This team hasn't been about Timmy in a long time.

Game 5 will be the big game for us as there will be a lot of pressure on the Grizzlies to win now.

Memphis in 6 hopefully, been saying it since game 1.

I would argue there's a lot more pressure on the Spurs to win now...

So who was saying OKC was gonna take 7 games to beat Denver and wouldn't be able to go through SA and LA? Looking like they wont even have to play SA and LA isn't looking so hot either.

we were even with thunders... 19 games later were having a parade.

Memphis doing it easy.. I don't know if SAS can pull off three straight wins against this Grizz team.

As an avid Boston fan even before Doc Rivers took over and turned it around, Paul Pierce was the only thing we had going for us for so many years, and put the team on his back and did his best. He's a workhorse and he's more reliable than Ray night in and night out. His hype is well earned, as we've clearly seen what he can and can't do. He's not a one-man team, as evidence of him never doing anything on his own, but he's the guy right next to Allen to take a game winning shot - I wouldn't mind either being the one with the ball in their hands in the closing seconds.
There's no way he's more overrated than some of the other superstars in the league.

I just want the Grizzlies to win so I can watch the rest of the playoffs in peace.

I've been watching LAC for most of the season, actually.. Sure, Davis isn't the same player we saw during his time in GSW & Hornets, but he still knows how to play ball. In fact, stats-wise he did better than Mo Williams in all categories except for PPG, which makes sense as Davis has become a selective scorer (at least for LAC, having Gordon & Griffin in the mix).
But like I said, I might be biased as I am (and will always be) a huge fan of Baron.. and you can't deny the lift the Clippers got when he came back from injury (after LAC started the season with 1-19 IIRC)
