Letho: + Show Spoiler +Man I really wish I had throwing daggers trained. I fought Letho by avoiding him while his shield was up and then trapping with yrden when it runs out and smashing his face in. Takes about 3-4 traps to do enough damage.

Quen is so overpowered in this. I would like to try maxing out signs but quen + melee is so good

+ Show Spoiler + He's a massive pain to beat, you do so little damage to him compared to the other way round, getting hit with a fireball is almost a straight up gg.
I rolled around while he had his Quen up, then used aard to knock him back and land 2-3 hits each time. Once he was at about 3/4 health I then spammed bombs (I didn't train daggers either :-( ). If you wanted an easy way to win the fight knowing before hand you could make like 10-15 of the bombs that stun as you can just infinitely stun him with them while killing him. I only had about 6 or 7 though so could only take off 1/4 that way.
I did have to reload back slightly and upgrade my armor from the one I started with, drink a potion and make as many bombs as I could without collecting any more ingredients. Changing my armor made so much different to how much damage I took, kind of shocked me.

LOTR easter egg that was so much funny + Show Spoiler +I: One to bring them all and in the darkness bind them... G: Right, and then I'll have to run bare-footed to the top of a volcano.

This is the easy way usable for all.
+ Show Spoiler + Use the Yrden sign to set a trap, place yourself so he has to pass through it and use the heavy attack while he is stunned a couple of times. Evade when he is not staggered anymore then rince and repeat. When he uses shield don't bother hitting him, just place another Yrden trap.

Why didn't it say anywhere that F5 was quicksave I wasted a lot of time because I found out a bit late and this game isn't a cakewalk

before you click start game there's settnings, in there is input settnings where you can re-bind / find out all keybinds...
also they mention quicksave in the prison breakout if im not mistaken. at least it did for me

yeah it mentioned earlier on that f5 was quick save. its hard to notice some of the warnings sometimes

Just played it for a bit, got the the part with the ballista. Died 3 times, then stopped playing. First of all, I'm kind of disappointed. I run it on high spec (my computer is not even a year old) and it lags like a bitch in battles. It looks good, but the slow down makes it feel kinda bad, and with the general unresponsiveness of the controls, I can't really enjoy it. The comment about rolling is unfortunately perfectly true. The only effective way to fight feels like roll, roll, attack once, roll, roll, attack once, roll, roll, use a sign, roll, attack, roll. Any attempt at even a short combo leads to being attacked from the sides, and you die quick as hell when 5 enemies are hitting you from the sides. Add in archers and you're just asking to die.
There are certainly parts about the fighting system I like, but it just feels like rolling is overpowered and the game has been tweaked with that in mind.

Just don't ever fight without Quen up.

Anyone know how to attach armor upgrades? Also how do you spend talent points? I'm level 6 and still can't find out how to use talents...

Meditate and go to character to spend talent points. For armor upgrades you just drag em onto your armor if it has an upgrade slot (looks like a little blank circle right next to the armor you're wearing). Beware though, armor enhancements and mutagens are permanent so be careful what you stick in that slot because you can't take it out.
Also, PROTIP: If you press J you can go to tutorial which will answer a ton of your questions.

Just got the game, it looks amazing but the settings are a real bitch. I don't know if a Windows 7 issue but there's no way to change the keys, and as a leftie I need to change all the setup...
Even changing the graphical settings (that damned V-syn!) was very hard due to the glitches in the menu.... is it only me?
Edit: Grr the more I play the more issues I encounter... any talk of a patch? because honestly it's barely playable for me...

To add to this, get the improved Quen thing in the magic portion of your talents. It's up for 2 minutes and you are basically a tank with it up. I just pop Quen and go crazy in combat now.

Wow. Has anyone else beat it yet? The ending is sooooo bad. It's worse than Halo 2's cliffhanger ((.

I'm buying this right now.
Hope to god my PC can run it >.<

Tempted to give up, at least until they release a patch. These problems are completely ruining the game for me.

Maybe it's in here already, since it's relatively easy to spot I'd say, anyway.
Assassins Creed easter egg:
+ Show Spoiler +I think Geralt said: "They'll never learn it" or something once you spot that ![[image loading]](http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/558656600945294732/9BD2E6C369CF8719EA22EE286BA62F84BA4D5799/)
