HS/NV gets me kills easy...with k/d's over 15 on a good day. You have to start firing before you ADS on closer shots. | ||

The night before the cancer awareness op I ran with widowmaker taskforce and got over a 5 k/d playing mostly a SMG light assault. It helps to be in a squad with more variety than all 1 class. Recon darts are almost required now after the scout radar nerf. | ||

OK I totally get it now, I never noticed the HS/NV scope behaved so differently, all the other normal sights up through 4x have the very noticeale up/down bounce when running and dip a little from stationary oveall (but apparently the shot actually doesn't follow that bounce but stays at the real center?), while the HS/NV is more precise like a sniper scope, it has breathing and holding your breath, and barely bounces if at all from movement. Also randomly the sniper rifles that use close range sights have breathing and also don't have the running offset nearly as noticeably even with the 1x reflex. Usually shooting while moving I'm not expecting pinpoint precision though, so it's not a huge deal to me and actually knowing that helps use the reflex more now--it's more accurate than I thought taking that into account. | ||

On my gauss saw (which is 0 COF when still and down sight) I've never noticed them to be inaccurate though, it seems pretty pinpoint with the 3.4x crosshair scope which is what I usually use on it. | ||

It was one of those highlights where I show a little bit of everything I do in a short amount of time. I still kinda suck with managing the t5 AMC's recoil pattern. Let me know if any of you FPS vets have any advice for me. I'm a pilot trying to learn to play ground. | ||

As far as I know there's not set recoil patterns in this game except a general bias with randomness--knowing that the AMC trends up and to the right and compensating the right average amount is the best you can do I think (someone tell me if I'm off base on this). Controlling recoil mostly matters in the first few shots in a burst. In any sustained fire I've found it's not the recoil that gets you, rather it's the increasing cone of fire, and that's why SMGs are so superior in close quarters; all the other guns increase their cone twice as fast in hipfire vs. down sight, while SMGs from the hip have the same accuracy deterioration as sighted which is equal to or better than ADS on all other guns. Despite having the highest horizontal recoil values in the game, they handle by far the best in sustained fire and have no movement penalty. I feel like your style, and actually almost all LA's, would be most effective with an SMG (or the NS or for TR Lynx and Jaguar if you like using sights)--the only LA style it seems not the best for is flying random places to shoot at range from. Maybe I miss something that stops it from being the universal LA choice since it is the one class I don't really play, but I don't know what that is. Long range is not the sort of combat you LAs should look for since your weapons are significantly inferior at it to every other class. | ||

When I engage enemies with t5 amc I line up the shot by moving the red dot down and left onto the target so that I'm already compensating for the recoil when I fire the first shot, then I tap fire and try to keep the dot on their neck/ head. t5 amc is supposed to be the most accurate combine, but it takes skills to use. I'm still working on it, and I have a lot of noob moments still. | ||

Having the best harasser (the king of ground vehicles now) and particularly coordinated squads with strikers shutting down air and vehicle support makes them ridiculously hard to move against, and not very fun. Plus the random joes with strikers are sorta even more annoying because they just appear randomly everywhere, and are just like nope, you can't come here. | ||
