Scythe is the worst Air 2 air fighter, but it's the best Air 2 ground due to its hovering techniques that are more flexible than reaver and mosq

ESF weapons are rebalanced. Biolabs now capture about 3x faster. Tech labs and Amp stations cap in 7 instead of 10 minutes. New pistol for each faction and an NS SMG. A number of other changes (harasser armor nerfed a bit is welcome, for example). I hate how the new Esamir plays so far (probably partly due to it being very highly populated because it's new, take that into account)--it's like there are exactly 4 battles available often when I get on, and all of them are massive zergs, with a lot of the big fights being infantry funnels. Also it now seems too hard to change Eisa Tech Plant with the lattice (since the defending team knows it's by far the most important property on the map), so my faction hasn't had heavy tanks yet in the time I've played on Esamir unless you want to spend a long time driving one from the warp gate up to one of the 4 battles. The biolab change seems good though, should make fast furious fights instead of the ridiculousness they were.

Welcome to lattice. That's why I cba to play since a couple of weeks now. This lattice system is pure BS.

Some of the Miller NC PLs and me have argued against lattice since pre-indar lattice but BCP said "PS2 needs lattice", together with some more of his BS (and 1-2 valid points) and people now constantly echo him while complaining about what we predicted would happen, e.g. repetitive meatgrinders. It's sad that the majority of players wants to kill PS2...

Stuff like invisibility of the Harasser are meant to give solo or 2/3 player groups a reason to play the game, by turning them into killing machines. It can be countered with organization, but being platoon leader quickly turn into more work than fun. For instance, why in heavens sake they would introduce alerts? To remove from the leader the choice of where fights should happen and confine everyone into a single set of spaces, then why have the open world in the first place. If the player base is dwindling, eliminate continents anyway, a dumb mechanic which only consequence is to require trips to the warpgate and potential queue when yours are empty.

Specifically, the average ease of hitting scythes with a Dalton (15+ a night) compared to mozzies (5-6 is closer to my average) at times I spend nearly identical times in TR and VS airspace. On the Patch: I love not getting shelled to hell by prowler HE/HEAT zergs. It's much more difficult to suppress infantry in some of the bases and easier for an active defense to oppose a slightly larger force.

I know I haven't been in very many outfit ops, but it kind of feels like playing "Space Russians" is the best way to Planetside. Despite this shit being brutally effective, I was completely out of my element, and felt like just quitting the damn game and never coming back the whole time.

Pre lattice running solo meant moving around the map randomly with the zerg for long peroids of time doing nothing but ghost capping until you finally meet the enemy zerg who is doing the same and get wiped or wipe them. Sure there was room for small squads to ghost cap other places on the map, but it was a lot harder to find good fights. Fast forward to now, I press instant action, drop in as infil or light assault and start popping heads in the middle of a nasty fight. When that battle dries up, I can instant action again, and start over. I like it. From a platoon leader's perspective though I can see how it can take something away, but I don't think they should prioritize the RTS elements of this game over the FPS elements. The problem is that the FPS elements are just mediocre, so if they remove too much strategy from the game, there is no reason left to play PS2 over any better FPS game. Personally i think they should focus on the RTS parts instead because they just can't beat BF and such on the FPS part and it makes the game unique.

Battlefield 3 + 4 is thematically restricted to generic military weapons that all do the same thing, and instagib splash-damage grenades and grenade launchers. Planetside 2, if they chose to ditch the Call of Duty features, could have a TON of weapon variety and amazing combat that involves ridiculous numbers of people. I'm not sure if they'll ever unfuck their netcode but just imagine if they did stuff like: - let you carry more than 1 primary / 1 secondary, (especially for heavies) - increase health from 500 to 2000 and ditch shields (except for heavy overshields) - increase movement speed and decrease the effects of movement on accuracy - let you shoot while running, because this is a fps and why couldn't you? - made all vehicles more like the harasser and liberator, where teamwork is required for them to function, but good teamwork turns them into force-multipliers - more player customization, like jetpacks + sniper rifles, cloak + shotgun, heal + repair tool instead of a primary, etc - more guns like lashers + chainguns + phoenixes

It's not even just the lattice, it's the new bases on Esamir. They have walls everywhere so they funnel everyone to certain points. Then there are like the little alcove garages, that basically all they need is a neon sign saying "Place Sunderer Here." It's so cookie cutter.
