Do they have the continent locking system on it too?

I died but got a rocket hit on the max, the other guy survived, cleaned up the max and flipped the point. Well, at least it does reduce the biolab grind, though i would have prefered the solution i posted on reddit a dozen times.

"We’re also trying out a change to the lift factor granted by afterburners when in hover mode. We’ve reduced it from a factor of 8 to a factor of 2. This should make the reverse thrust still doable but will lower its abruptness and diminish your top speed while doing so."

A few hours ago was a Woodman vs Cobalt vs Miller event on the PTS which was initiated by Woodman and it appears that they were unprepared for Miller pride. They showed up with maybe 2 platoons total. Miller showed up with ~250-300 players and crushed everything with sheer numbers. On one hand it was boring because we had 60% continent population. On the other hand it was impressive how many people from Miller reacted to Woodmans challenge. Miller pride really runs deep.

What happened to game developers actually playing their own games and respecting feedback from players? Why is this necessary? Who asked for this? It is based on player feedback. The problem is that the skill difference between new pilots and veterans is so high than new pilots don't have the slightest chance to kill a veteran thanks to things like the reverse maneuver, making it a frustrating experience for new pilots. It might not be the best solution for the problem but it still is based on player feedback and it alleviates the problem. I'm against it as well eventhough i don't fly due to FPS problems whenever i enter a plane, but at least they are trying solutions and when it doesn't work out, they'll revert it again. It isn't even live anyways, it's just a PTS change.

The reverse maneuver is too difficult to do on a gamepad so they had to effectively remove it as they plan on keeping both versions identical. Either that or they just wanted the air-game to be like the tank/infantry game with whoever sees the other person first wins. Thats modern FPS games for you, I guess. WTB a modern Quake/Tribes.

I dunno if any liquid groups are still alive (I know Rah is on Mattherson running a dedicated fighter / gunship outfit, but you'd need to be good at flying to join) so I can't help you there. As for classes, you will probably end up using all of them, depending on the what's going on: - Heavy Assault lets you damage (or kill) vehicles, and is most desirable for entering buildings to take control points. If you aren't surprised by your enemy and remember to press F before shooting (which activates your extra bonus shield), you will usually beat every non-heavy you encounter in 1 on 1 fights. - Light Assault is for planting spawn beacons in hard-to-reach places, ambushing people from weird angles, and blowing stuff up with C4. With buddies, you can run around bases and eat sunderers. Most people just abuse Squad Deploy to hotdrop next to stuff with heavies, who then nuke everything with dumbfires. It's still fun to play with jetpacks, though. - Medics heal stuff, raise the dead, and have guns that are either really accurate, or do craptons of damage close-up. If you take damage as any other class, you can switch to a medic via equipment terminals and use their area-of-effect class ability to heal yourself (press F), then switch back. - Engineers have a repair tool, which is mandatory if you want to use tanks or aircraft. With certs, they can use pizza-shaped tank mines, which can be delivered to sunderers (three at a time) and then manually detonated with your gun to blow them up. They also have a fancy disk-shaped doohickey which dispenses ammo packs, and builds gun turrets, which you can then man to offer free certs to your opponents or humiliate the unaware. - Infiltrators are good for harassing annihilator squads (heavies with lock-on launchers that shoot tanks and aircraft) that camp on landing pads or mesas. If you have certs, you can get an SMG and be an asshole. The sensor darts require you to dump craptons of certs into them to be more than barely useful.

I play on Waterson as TR and would be happy to show you around a bit one day. My outift, NUC, however, is closed, but has an application process for those with competitive gaming experience looking to compete in future events. I would suggest, no matter which faction you choose, that you run medic. Then, cert out either the TAR Assault rifle as TR, the HV45 as Vanu, or the Carnage BR(?) as NC - these all cost 250 certs -> great buys for the price. You will also need a scope (most people run HS/NV, but I know a few who swear by the Reflex) and a forward grip (some prefer laser sights for CQC hipfire). Then, make sure to cert out that medic tool and the health regen ability as well as nanoweave. Eventually, you can get 2 bricks of C4 and Revive Grenades. For general tips: aim for the head!, work in teams with other people, and get those revives on your teammates - it not only helps turn the tide of a battle, but it also earns you xp! (this would be done by pressing 3 to bring out your medic tool, then aiming at a friendly corpse and holding down the trigger until the circle fills up). You will be weak against vehicles and maxes (until you get C4) so sticking close to others will help. If you want a secondary class, I would suggest heavy assault for the rocket launchers and shields. Also, engineer is a good cert farm (lots of xp) if you have a solid team/squad with which to work and is a great class to use while driving as you can repair your vehicle. Max can be fun, but you really need a dedicated engineer to repair you. You can find me in-game on Waterson as wInevitable and I stream almost everyday, too. Same name at twitch. GLHF!
