I believe they already stated somewhere modding will still be supported, can't remember where
Since skyrim is coming closer to release, I was wondering is it worth getting the older Elder Scrolls to understand whats going to happen in skyrim, or is it going to be a different story

There will probably be a few references to the lore in the older games, but in my opinion the Elder Scrolls games are just as rich without any experience with the previous games.

so far the Elder Scrolls games were never connected with each other. So you dont have to worry

The stories are not related, BUT: 1) Morrowind and Oblivion are still very very good games, just torrent them from somewhere and mod the shit out of them (assuming you want to play PC) and have a nice time ^^ 2) The worlds are connected in the sense that you'll see the same kinds of people, you'll probably see a lot of Oblivion references in Skyrim etc.

WAHH I WANT TO PLAY IT T_T
Can you recommend some Oblivion mods? I go on the mod sites and it's just piles of stuff, and half the "top rated/downloaded" ones seem to be rubbish additions to it.

For Oblivion you want OOO (Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul). It corrects the huge flaws in vanilla Oblivion - level scaling, lack of risk / reward etc.
You're much better off going with Morrowind though, install the graphics updates, it's a far superior game.
I'm not sure to what extent you guys can help me with this, any feedback is greatly appreciated tho

I dont really have any knowledge of hardware so im not sure if this actually makes sense, its what I wrote down after my mate told me what I got
8400 Intel Dual Core 260 Nvidia card 216 2GB Memory Windows XP 32 bit
Both will be played on a 22" full hd led monitor. I don't care about the mods on PC, its purely about the graphic levels (without any fps drops etc.)

Are you running a laptop or something? Those are some pretty bad specs, also you didn't really give a whole lot of information so not sure if you could run it on lowest settings.
*edit your processor runs at 3 Ghz which is fine, your video card is pretty old though.
*edit numero DOS: On the other hand, I just asked a computer wise mate of mine, and he says that you should be able too run it on lower resolution and low settings naturally. I don't have a definite answer though sorry :/

Personally I will start replaying Morrowind today. Generally the stories are not connect, there are just a few references to places or people of previous games. The Morrowind expansion Bloodmoon was taking place on a Nord island though so maybe those stories/lore will be heavily referenced. I hope so because Nords were my favorite Characters and I loved Bloodmoon.

Specs are good, I hope i'll run it on max with new 6950, which I'm waiting to be delivered (hopefully before 11.11).
My main concern is 6gb of hard drive, thats very small for a game like this. So what do we expect? Bad texture resolutions? Mass repetition in lands? Not a lot of voice acting? It drives me crazy.. why so small... fallout 3 was 8gb, New Vegas was 10gb...

you can maybe expect to download 10 GB worth from steam when you start installing it. Or maybe they just used a new comprimation technique or the game is just small. But they did say the land mass is around the size of Oblivion.
